Writing a review on Calumet is almost pointless as there aren''t enough adjectives, or the appropriate ones that I can think of, to adequately describe how good Calumet are. Whilst I absolutely hate dealing with the public, I am often told by colleagues that I am VERY good at it. Well, there is a reason I am so good at dealing with customers .................. and that's because I am THAT customer most retailers hate to deal with; you know, the one who knows his rights, the one who is never impressed, the one who demands perfection, the one who will crush your balls if you make a mistake on his order. Therefore, when I come across "difficult" customers I find it easy to deal with them because I am in effect dealing with myself!!!!! LOL!! That being said, you can understand that I don't give praise easily, in fact I find that the VAST majority of products and services in the U.K. are rubbish. Now, when it comes to Calumet I can't think of a single criticism to make of them. I am so impressed with Calumet that I have made a vow that, as a mark of my appreciation and as a matter of loyalty and honour, I will never buy a Canon camera from any other retailer than Calumet (so far I have purchased THREE Canon 1D series cams from them). On my previous purchase, the assistance and promptness of service I got from Jamie in order to correct a fault made my jaw drop as he provided me with more than I would have expected from a retailer, and on my camera purchase prior to that one again it was a case of Calumet going the extra mile. I always get the impression from Calumet that here is a company staffed by people who are photography enthusiasts who happen to be in business rather than a business who just happen to be selling photo gear; and that difference in mindset shines through. Calumet may not be the cheapest, and I for one do not expect them to be given their overheads compared to faceless impersonal online retailers, but their service is awesome; and besides, as my mother would say "the cheapest often becomes the dearest". So if you have a branch of Calumet near you make them your main retailer; you can't go wrong (and if by chance you have a problem with them, then I would put it down to being a branch or individual member of staff issue and NOT a company wide problem). So in a nutshell I, Mr Hardly Anything Impresses Me Much, am EXTREMELY impressed by Calumet.

You know everything and you don't hesitate to share it -- whether it means selling a product or not. That's why I prefer doing my shopping at Calumet.

I have bought an Epson 3880 Stylus Pro Printer at Calumet Photographic. The special offer was very very good (an extra set of inkcartridges and a box with printpaper). Ordering and delivery was very fine - but they have forgotten to send the box with paper. I contacted calumet by mail and the service was very fine and I got my paper. The printer is very good and I am very satisfied dealing with Calumet.

I ordered a bi-colour LED panel light over the phone at 4:50 pm which i needed to collect first thing the following day. Indira who i spoke with on the phone was very knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating with my requirements for collection early the next morning and generally really helpful. Collection was efficient the next day and the light is excellent. Many thanks!

The Calumet store in Glasgow isn't the most conveniently situated, but what is loses in ease of access , it gains in good old fashioned customer service and advice. In an age where shopping is increasingly done via internet or impersonal superstores, the staff at Calumet take the time to discuss your requirements and as enthusiast themselves, are able to give good advice . The fact that Calumet has survived when so many high St photography stores have failed, speaks volumes about what photographers really want from a store.

Staff are always welcoming and responsive to my needs. Stock levels in store could be better but it is January so this is understandable.

Excellent response to my request for a quotation and a good price. I appreciated talking to a real person rather than a telephone answering machine! Will, come to you first for anything else I need.

I took advantage of the 2013 Christmas rental offer to rent a lens (Canon 70-300L) for a week for what would normally be the cost of a day's rental. The booking process was straightforward, as was collecting the lens. The lens itself was in excellent condition. Finally, the return process at the end of rental was quick and simple. I'll certainly use Calumet rental again.

The staff at Birmingham are always very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable and, as long as your prices are competitive, I shall continue to shop there.

I love Calumet, and have bought camera, lens, cards, flash,Printer and ink from them and enjoyed a tutorial with them with the great Jon Gray, However I have not got my cashback from the flash gun yet. but will go and buy more gear off them soon again. Aaron

The young lady who served me was very helpful. If she was unsure on a particular question I asked she wasn't afraid to go and ask someone. She found the items I wanted and arranged a delivery quickly and without drama.

I was looking to purchase a tripod and had researched, on-line, the market on price and specification. I had a shortlist of tripods I wanted to tryout first hand, so I chose to visit Calumet, Manchester. The Calumet staff were very helpful in demonstrating each model. Not all models on my shortlist were on show, but there was no hesitation in the staff member bringing one from the warehouse and unpacking it for me to look at. I was impressed by the customer care, when I was asked what camera I had, the staff member disappeared into the back and returned with my exact model, in order that I could try the attachment features of the ball heads. I would certainly use Calumet again, with the advantage of being able to order directly on-line when you know exactly what you want, or visit the store for helpful advise if required.
