“I was looking at a used car. The dealer gave me a report from a competitor of Carfax that showed the car was clean with no accidents. I had looked at several cars and decided to purchase this car. I was out of town for Christmas and told the dealer I would be in on the Sunday following Christmas to purchase the car. I decided that I would pay for a Carfax to double check the report I got from the dealer when looking at the car. I purchased the Carfax and to my surprise found that the car had in fact been in a front side impact accident. I ended up purchasing a different car. Had I not pulled a Carfax I would have purchased a car based on an inaccurate report by a competitor and would not have known what secrets the car had.”

“Carfax let me know the vehicle I was going to buy had been in an accident. I'm glad I knew, the dealership had not told me, and I didn't end up buying the car. Carfax saved me so much money!”

“Car fax was invaluable. The seller sent us a VIN and we ran the Carfax, and it looked to be a good buy. We got there to test drive it, and noticed that the VIN was different on the vehicle. Ran the correct VIN, and found out that the car had been totaled. Carfax saved from a very expensive mistake and a very unscrupulous seller!”

“Carfax could have saved me a lot of money and ti.e if I used it originally. I purchased a 1997 Honda prelude of Craigslist test drive it and everything seemed fine. 8 hours later the transmission blew up. So I started a hunt for a new car and heard great things about using carfax. So out of boredom I ran the carfax on the prelude to discover I was the 9th owner and the previous owner only had the car for 2 months. From that day forward I will always use carfax. Saves time and can save you a ton of money!!”

“Carfax saved me thousands of dollars in repair bills! Well $4,000.00 at least. I purchased a 2001 Ford F-350 Super duty crew cab with a 7.3 diesel, 4x4. I searched for over a year and finally found a very low mile (60,000) truck. I purchased the truck and also got an extended warranty from a major insurer. After having the truck for seven (7) month I had to take it in for repairs. The first response from the warranty company was to deny the claim due to the mileage but after reviewing the Carfax history/ mileage report the claim was paid. Thanks for a great service, Fred”

“I was looking for a new car recently and i came across a seller on craigslist. He mentioned 120k miles on the car and was very confident about the car and firm on price and so i went on to see the car. The car looked good with no damages but as I always do and ask others to do and that is to run the CARFAX report. Once I ran the CARFAX report ,I found out that it mentioned 230k miles on the car. Trust me I was stunned and as soon as i told the seller i could see his expressions changing coz he realized that his fraud was caught and that he might be in trouble. He just wasted no time and vanished. CARFAX saved me quite a few trips to the so called sellers who claimed that they had a great vehicle but actually was not the case.I think the most important investment I made in buying my car was the money i paid to CARFAX for the membership. I would like to thank CARFAX for the invaluable contribution it has made in the life of millions like me.”

“I fell in love with my 68 Mustang 10 years ago. The time finally came I had to sell. Up drives a 98 Mustang convertible Cobra. He wants to trade straight up. This sounded too good to be true. CARFAX to the rescue. An hour later the deal was done. The car was exactly as advertised. With CARFAX, I was an informed and confident buyer.”

“Carfax helped me find the perfect car! I looked at a gorgeous white Toyota Corolla last year. I was so set on purchasing it. Thanks god I checked the Carfax Report. It showed the vehicle had 4 previous accidents and was towed from the accident. I'm glad I checked with carfax before making a decision. I landed up buying an amazing Chevy with a clean carfax! If it weren't for Carfax I could have landed up with a car that had previous accident damage. Remember looks are deceiving on cars! The only way to really know about a car before buying it is by checking the carfax report for hidden damage that you can't see with your eyes. It's like a report card on a car ;) thanks Carfax!”

“Oneday, I went to buy a car from a private seller. I checked the car by observing and testing it to see how are the engine and the transmission. The car was in very good condition and had no problem at all and everything sounds good. However, and because I wanted to make sure that this car is reliable, I checked this car on CARFAX by entering its VIN number, and guest what? The odometer read 94K milage and that's what atracted me to buy it, but the CARFAX said that this car was over 220k milage. Thus, whenever I buy a car even from a dealership, I directly check it in CARFAX because it is the best friend for your pocket.”

“I was recently shopping for a pre-owned BMW X5 and found one in a city, 5 hours away from me. I it looked awesome, flawless almost. What luck. I called and made an appointment with the sales person for the following day to go look at it (as there weren't that many available locally that were optioned out the way I wanted). For some reason however, I kept thinking that this must be too good to be true. The price was really good. I signed up for Carfax that evening and plugged in the VIN. Thank goodness I did as the report showed that not only had the vehicle been in an accident but it was a roll-over accident! No wonder it looked so good in the photos; it had been completely rebuilt. Regardless, I immediately knew I wasn't going down that road. I called the sales person the next morning and cancelled the appointment. Not only was I saved from a potentially horrible vehicle, but I saved myself a 10 hour drive. Thank goodness for Carfax. I found my vehicle shortly thereafter and as I had signed up for the 5 carfax reports, I found a good report on the X5 I ended up with. - Bryan H”

“Sure glad, I did the Carfax on a recent attempted purchase of a '92 Ford Mustang convertible. car had had some front end damage, not serious but enough to help me negotiate and determine if I wanted that car. “I needed a 2005 or newer car in order to work with UBER, the ride-sharing company. Having been out of work since August, I didn't have a lot of money. I found a 2006 Ford Escape that I could afford but it had over 200,000 miles on it. I purchased a CARFAX though, which showed that it had been meticulously maintained. Without another thought I bought the car, which I love, and am now giving rides. :)”

“I love carfax.com it helped me buy a beautiful 2010 cheve equinox. I loved being able to customize my search looking for no accidents, only 1 owner, AWD, and low miles SUV, for the price I wanted to pay. I loved seeing the details from the previous owner about car maintenance and mileage. It made me feel very confident when I purchased my car, I knew what I was getting.”
