“Easy build process with lots of options and plate quality as expected but website very misleading saying 'Free tracked delivery on all orders. Most orders dispatched same day and arrive next working day.' which is not the case as delivery is added at checkout. Evri said delivery would be Thursday- the plates eventually arrived in Saturday (no surprises with Evri keeping their poor reputation upheld). When flagged, the company did refund the P&P costs. Also the FAQ's imply fixings are included saying 'Using the sticky pads provided in the kit' and also 'Step 4 – Using the supplied fitting screws' - which is not the case.”

“Purchases a set of registration plates on 12 August 2026. What attracted me to Car Plates Direct was the price including free delivery was the best out there. When I came to place the order the payment page requested me to pay for delivery despite this showing as free in two separate sections of the website. I contacted the company and received an email from James Hartley who said he would arrange for my postage of £6.99 to be refunded to me and this would take 3-5 working days which was very kind of him and very much appreciated, however it is now six working days and I still have not received the £6.99 refund. I sent an email to Car Plates Direct on Wednesday 19 August 2026 at 12.55pm informing them that I still have not received my postage refund and have yet to receive a reply. It is so ironic that when we make a payment our money is taken out of our account instantly yet when a refund is due we have to wait and then fight to have it returned. It is such a shame as Car Plates Direct produced my registration plates in record time and they are just what I ordered. I hope now after reading this review that I will now receive my £6.99 refund.”

“I haven’t received my plates to fit, you chose the worst delivery company in the uk, not to mention I have waited 2 days from when they said it was out for delivery…..and they have delivered my plates to the wrong address, I live in a flat as described on the address and they have delivered them to a house and had the Gaul to take a picture of it as proof too, I can’t retrieve them because I don’t Know what houses letter box they stupidly put it through Terrible service all round”

“Beware as plates are not road legal! By default. DO NOT BUY PLATES FROM THIS COMPANY. MOT failure as not road legal. Bad customer service, shocking as just stopped responding to email.”

“Unfortunately I have no choice in giving a very poor review of Car Plates Direct, since I have not received my Order and having tried to contact them multiple times by email, phone and chatbot on their web site, they do not respond to anything! Tracking states Evri are still waiting for my package! It seems I am out of pocket unless PayPal will step in?! i am prepared to amend this review if they step up and honour my purchase, but for now - AVOID THIS COMPANY !”
