Hope you can, I think for the interest of carshops future I think this needs to be addressed at the highest level, I placed a holding fee on a car sq5 in Doncaster, After being seen to by a salesman jay I was told after he had sorted a deal out to wait wilst he went to see his boss, some 30 minutes went by and me and my wife was joined by a salesman called Sid, after some 30 minutes we decided to look at the car, we just happen to look on your site at another sq5 in Bristol We asked if this could be brought to Doncaster when he said it will be £50 Transfer fee, we said but on the website it's free, his attitude was it is was it is, Apparently he was spoken to after I had called the manger adheel, who I may add was very very helpful, We decided to buy one in the Sheffield branch, we paid a holding fee for a blue sq5, we had arranged a viewing and after a few days we was called to say it's not for sale, Curtis at Sheffield had told us that a lot of the staff including himself fancied the car, I said to him you haven't bought it I hope, he said no, I do find it really odd, however we had told of our experience at Doncaster and asked if we could have the one from Bristol brought up, they said they would waver the transfer fee, which was very nice, The car came and we loved the car, we sorted all the £7000 cash deposit and the finanace was all sorted, we noticed that a tyre was really low and asked if this would be changed for a new one, M•••••• the salesman said it is what it is, we don't work like that you buy as seen, his whole attitude changed dramatically, we was so shocked, we even took our 19year old grandson for a little buying experience, he too was amazed, C••••• called us later that afternoon to say that M•••••was giving us until 11am the next day to make our mind up, then it would be back on sale, and we are now still awaiting our holding fees, please can you look at this as it's really bad for the future of CARSHOP, Kind regards, Chris davies

My experience with CarShop began with an online form resulting in an employee called Dylan Thomas calling me repeatedly; certainly relatively pressured and less than pleasant. Despite this, there were some cars in stock which I liked and so decided to attend the showroom. I was handed over to a 'Business Manager' called Alexander Collins. Having requested to buy the car via PCP, Alex proceeded to comment on my income in front of my relative, information I don't want anyone knowing but trusted that a senior employee at CarShop would be professional enough not to divulge, especially not in the blaise manner of 'Oh, you're doing well for yourself' Having found an acceptance for a PCP, I asked Alex what the total cost of the finance would be in the event I settled it in December, and that I would be happy with anything less than £1-2K in total interest paid. A prompt reply came in the form of 'Around the £1000 mark'; having asked the finance broker themselves, they informed me that such a calculation isn't possible as the lender will allocate payments to the interest and principle at their discretion. It is thus my opinion that Alex quite simply lied about the level of finance cost, which is in and of itself, fraud. From there, Alex proceeded to add on the Warranty (which costs double the warranty of other providers), and paint protection- both of which I wanted on a different car, not the one I was at this stage proceeding with. Alex seemed to adopt the strategy of pretending to be Forrest Gump and not understanding my very basic request to remove these two items from the purchase price. I received several perfunctory email replies, including 'yes, I can confirm that these are on the order' and 'no, we cannot discount the vehicle', not to mention several ignored emails. At this point, having become utterly fed up of being lied to, I told Alex that if he did not remove these items from the purchase by the close of business, I would cancel my order. Alex did not reply, and so I cancelled my order the next day. Alex claimed that he left the office early, and that he was now all of a sudden happy to take them off of the order. As if this wasn't laughable and dishonest enough, I sent the aforementioned email at 12:22- I suppose it must have been a very short day for him not to have seen it. From here, I have to say that a different colleague, Richard Geen, was helpful and assisted me in recovering my deposit immediately. In brief, I was lied to several times and received some of the most embarrassingly rude service imaginable, from someone whom CarShop has promoted. There are positive reviews written here- most of which with very similar verbatim and writing styles; draw whichever inferences you wish.

Well, it started off ok. Nice car, nice spec, paid the 99 to hold, and they kindly agreed to move it, from Warrington to Doncaster. First slight issue, they had put the wrong description on the vehicle. Fair enough, easy done, they have a lot of vehicles just a mistake. After that, i tried a few times to find out a bit more about the vehicle, before I arrived, because I would be pushed for time while there. So you can call several times, you will get someone in an office who will tell you that they are in an office. But they will email somebody. They will happily say anything happily to get you off the phone. No one gets back to you. So you turn up on the day. On time. The car has arrived a bit early so been with them for five days or six days. Someone called to tell me it was there but took umbrage that I couldn't get there any sooner. It was a near six hour journey for me, with family. So I look at the car, and it's dirty. Grubby. It was in a line of gleaming vehicles, they couldn't be bothered washing it. The guy who comes to deal with me, keeps telling me that he knows nothing about me or the vehicle, the guy dealing is off on holiday. Next low point. When it says in the advert service history - present. That doesn't mean it is actually there. He doesn't know where it is. He goes to find out. By wandering round in circles hoping that something easier is needing dealt with. And thats when you realise. You look around, and it's like something out of dawn of the dead, hordes of gormless zombies, wandering around smiling and asking if you are being seen to, hoping that they don't actually get asked anything, because then they will leave you waiting while they ask someone else. So wandering chap comes back and suggests quite helpfully, that if the car has come from Warrington, perhaps I, the customer, should call the Warrington branch and ask where it is. You see, it's very much a case of you get what you pay for. These places are cheap for a reason. Behind all the smiley smiley, happy pictures, shiny cars, they want you to turn up, hand over your money, and f off. Someone else helpfully gets involved, comes across with a bit of paper with scribbles on it that is the service history, apparently. They can't understand it themselves to explain it and go off to ask someone else. There is also only one key, no one knows where the other one is. Sad thing is I think it was a good car. Just no service history present and only one key. And no one cares enough to deal with these things before you get there. Or to answer any of these questions before you get there. A waste of time. I got the £99 back and bought a car from a proper place.

Manchester Car shop is a down right joke within 12 weeks ive had to reject 2 cars. The first car looked ok withing 24 hours the car broke down had be recovered by car shop. the breaks were faulty, light idnt work and found out the car had been in re, end collision. The cardx is con and found out that sold me a car charging me for cardx when the car had already been sold with it on found receipt in the service book case. Was told by dan that it error but in my opinion they scam people so rejected that car, staff are horrendous and down right rude es[ecially Lynn . The second car was just as bad took 10 days to get it delivered, it had chips marks all over so they promised to sort, when i went to pick the nothing had been done totally joke. Tom and Aj who are complaints manager are to waste of space they promise you the earth but deliver nothing. Had to get Synter head office (owner of car shop) involved who were great they found that Car shop manchester had been at fault and apologised . but my advice don't shop there.

Paid deposit to hold a car which turned out to be not quite right so salesgirl said she would sort out my refund done automatically. 2 months later found out no refund so called the store and told they would call me within 24 hrs, after no callback I contacted again with same answer and the called again to be told the refund dept had been notified but they had no response. Reading other reviews here this appears a common problem, they are keen to take your money but don't want to give it back. Poor service, will not use them again and advise others to go elsewhere. I am still waiting for a refund more than 2 months later.

CategoriesBlog My ReviewsMy Settings HelpLOG OUT JH John Henry GillhamGB For businesses Your review counts! You reviewed CarShop - Bristol Add photo JH John Henry Gillham 1 review Just now Nightmare Carshop Paid deposit for the car I intended to buy. Drove three hours to do a test drive only to find Petrol Warning Light on with only 16 miles left to drive! What then followed was an onslaught for two hours of ridiculous unnecessary aggressive sales pitches. I said quite clearly I just wanted to buy the car but again and again I was bombarded with the sales patter assuring me I needed a Warrenty/MOT/Service package or at least take out their finance of which the sales man said he could not give me the APR but this did not stop him showing me various waste of time quotes. Lastly he tried to sell me a special wax covering but as they had little to no knowledge on the car how could he know it was not already with a wax coating. I stressed again I just wanted to buy the car and have my Retention Number Plate assigned to the car. He then said that could only be done if I bought a £99 Advantage Package- so blatant blackmail. The final straw was he then said he could not take our payment and we would have to see his manager. He left to go and find him and we walked out. The car with my deposit not paid back was immediately put back on the market. So if you only want to buy a car , my advice is go to a proper dealer who not intent on upsales or reassembly the worse kind of Arthur Daley

Do not buy a car here. The vehicle I chose was not as described and the customer service is shockingly poor. On top of that they just don't care about the problems with DVLA their poor record keeping are causing me. I rejected the vehicle on delivery and I am still wasting time trying to sort out problems 3 months later. Avoid like hell

Worse company I've ever purchased something from. Bought my car in December 2020. Having nothing but problems with the car, carshop just keep sending me from pillow to post and don't have a care in the world about their customers. I've took my car in twice this past month for repairs and both times my car apparently isn't booked in and no one knows nothing about it. They say someone will ring you which no one ever did not once. Worse customer service, I think they was all asleep when they had their training. I've learnt my lesson, wouldn't recommend them to my dog!

Left an message to look at a kuga no response so I called you . The car said images to follow . Was told I can't test drive the car because it wasn't there even though he couldn't find the car on your website . He told me I could pay £99 to reserve it even though he couldn't even find the car . I got very frustrated and told him to forget it and hung up .

Car purchase itself was relatively smooth amidst the restrictions in actually viewing vehicles however after sales service has been abysmal. Within a few weeks the rear number plate fell off (newly installed car shop logo's plate) and despite 3 phone calls and 2 emails no response has been received all the while I am having to drive illegally. I wouldn't even mind if they tell me it is not their responsibility but I can't even get to the conversation part!

Be cautious purchasing a car from carshop. I purchased a car and in my the 20 months I have had it the car has been off the road nearly every week for breakdowns. Tried to get money back and compensation but no luck also service book stamped when collected but vehicle had not been serviced they had to send to main dealer to rectify. Reported faults from day one and mechanic said no fault only to be rescued by AA later that day. Better to go to a reputable main dealer you have better warranty and customer support. Tried to get another vehicle off them to replace but they offered a ridiculous part exchange offer well below genuine market value. Stress and anxiety caused is unbelievable.

I had my 1st car from the Warrington store 3 years ago and I was so pleased I decided to upgrade. I am now on a IVA programme where I called them to see if was ok to go ahead. They said yes so I was excited, I selected a car and called the Swindon branch as that is where it was, I spoke to a guy named Brandon he was so helpful, I explained my situation and he assured me that everything would go through easily. I asked if I could have the car delivered to my home as the Swindon showroom was miles away, he agreed so I paid the £99, but that's where things went wrong. The next day I received a call from the manager at the Warrington branch to arrange the finance his name was Neil Marshall, he was vile he didn't know anything about my IVA or that I wanted a home delivery not taken to Warrington, anyway he said he would call me the next day when my finance would be sorted, in the meantime he emailed me some forms I had to sign in which I did, but from that moment I was feeling uneasy, to be blunt he was making me feel bad about myself because off the IVA. Did not hear anything at all the next day, so I emailed Brandon who again did his upmost to help, the following day another manager called to say they would need £1,400 deposit for it to go ahead. To cut a long story short in 4 days, I decided to change my car, picked 1 called and paid my reserve f ee, to be fobbed off, decided to keep my car n forget it, just had call to ask about my experience with Car Shop, my refund so they say is in process. My advice KEEP AWAY and go else where

Picked my sons car up in February. Kieron was very nice, car developed a major fault a few months later. Car picked up and taken to be repaired via the warranty company. Took nearly a month to sort out, warranty company told garage to order a part from Germany which eventually arrived after they had to get another part which they got in a few days from the uk. I am still out of pocket by £180 and Kieron never answers my txt msgs and he initially said I would be refunded the money but still waiting. Don’t use this company.
