The clerk who wears a face shield is ear splittingly loud, laughs like a pack of wild hyenas.Is hell bent on not giving you the option of cash back if you pay with a debit card. “I happen to work for Cato . I have been with them for 8 1/2 years . I get on this site and see all of the negative reviews of this company and I understand why I see some of these reviews.
On the other hand , there are times when customers come in with a really bad attitude. We welcome every customer that walks into our store. Half the time , the customers are on their phones and don't give us the time of day. The other half of the time , they come into the stores with their own rotten attitudes but consider the employees at fault when we fail to treat them like royalty . I'm way to old and way to tired to play games with grown women. If you don't want to be treated rudely , don't be rude to the people who ARE trying to help you. Get over yourselves , grow up and treat US the way you expect to be treated.”
“By reading the reviews of other customers, it has become painfully clear that Catos management does not care about customer service. I’m in Sioux Falls, SD. The “store manager” is very rude and uncaring. They used to care when someone entered the store. But now they just ignore you. When you bought something, the sales person used to walk around the counter, smile and hand you your purchase. Now they barely look up. It has changed so much. , you never know if you should drive all the way to the store since it’s hit and miss that someone will actually be working there.
I don’t know who does your interviewing for a job positions but it needs serious improvement stop worrying about employee theft (I heard it 1st hand) and start worrying about getting customers what they want and what they need.”

“I visit Cato all the time in Springfield Mo off Kansas Expressway. I spend 100$ of dollars in there monthly. I will no longer be shopping at Cato at this location. I went in to shop on Sat 4/23/2022 about 230pm and the lady working was not friendly at all! She was mid 20s short shoulder length jet black hair .When I approached the counter to check out she never smiled or spoke to me and once she got my items tallied up i added a necklace choker to my items for one of my kids, she huffed and I heard her puff and she jerked the necklace aside when i handed it to her to ring it up. When she finished checking me out she still never smiled I told her god bless you and have a nice day! Still no smile or any response. This will be my last experience of bad customer service at this store. I'm in customer service myself and the actions I received from this employee were unprofessional and unethical.

“Cato’s is not what it use to be. Their quality of clothing as gone down 90% I purchased a blouse, wore it twice I started to see the front of it getting fuzzy so I washed it in cold water and that really messed the blouse up, the sleeves threading came loose, thread was everywhere. Another blouse I purchased did the same thing I went to the store told them about it and the person that was working apologize and refunded my money. What’s happening to Catos? That was my go to store. They charge to much for their clothes if it’s not on Clearance and it’s gets ruin by wearing a couple of times let alone if you wash it. I will be finding another go to store.”
