About Chilton Furniture:

Chilton is a family-owned, Maine company dedicated to selling fine, wood furniture, all American-made. We are known for our Shaker-inspired designs, and also feature Arts & Crafts, modern and cottage style pieces in solid cherry, maple, ash, walnut, and quarter-sawn oak. We are also known for the quality craftsmanship of our custom work. Many of our pieces can be custom built to your specifications.

Much of our furniture is handcrafted in small Maine workshops, and we also work with boutique craftsmen in New Hampshire, Vermont and the Midwest, many of whom have been partners for decades. All of these cabinetmakers have a Shaker-like dedication to workmanship, function, and simplicity of line and form. All of Chilton’s pieces are built to our high standards, and a growing number are original, proprietary designs.

“Every part of this transaction was so simple and pleasant---a wonderful buying experience, extremely helpful, and a beautifully made product. They even wrapped our glass-fronted shelves in moving blankets for transportation to our island home by boat. WE highly recommend Chilton.”

“Great company. They had to change delivery day and they were very accommodating. Only issue is it takes a very long time to get your pieces. I’m sure part of that is covid supply chain related.”

So much so, that they even care about purchases made before they took over the business. Chilton has excellent craftsman who build their wonderful furniture. My furniture arrived right on time and in perfect condition. The furniture is beautiful. “We bought a dinning room table and chairs and have been very happy with the beauty and quality of our furniture. The staff is friendly and approachable. They gave us personalize service - answering our questions and if they did not know the answer connecting us to one who would. They even followed up to be sure we received the information we were looking for. We are vey happy and will be purchasing from Chilton again.”

“The bookcase is great. I was disappointed that the back panel was not perfect. I never thought to inspect the back side. I love the finish on the cherry wood. The bookcase will be beautiful as it ages and get that beautiful patina.”

“The furniture is beautiful, and we are very happy with it. The delivery of the furniture into the house went perfectly. The order was ready many, many weeks later than originally quoted. While we understand COVID has made things extra complicated, nevertheless, this was frustrating for us. We would rather hear up-front "3 to 6 months", than "2 to 3 months" and have it take an additional 2 months. All in all, we are very happy with the end product, and would order from Chilton again. However, if timing was a critical factor in our decision-making process, honestly we would probably consider taking our business elsewhere.”
