About Chilton Furniture:

Chilton is a family-owned, Maine company dedicated to selling fine, wood furniture, all American-made. We are known for our Shaker-inspired designs, and also feature Arts & Crafts, modern and cottage style pieces in solid cherry, maple, ash, walnut, and quarter-sawn oak. We are also known for the quality craftsmanship of our custom work. Many of our pieces can be custom built to your specifications.

Much of our furniture is handcrafted in small Maine workshops, and we also work with boutique craftsmen in New Hampshire, Vermont and the Midwest, many of whom have been partners for decades. All of these cabinetmakers have a Shaker-like dedication to workmanship, function, and simplicity of line and form. All of Chilton’s pieces are built to our high standards, and a growing number are original, proprietary designs.

“Outstanding quality & amazing customer service throughout. We tried to schedule and had to cancel pick-up twice and the third time, we were not quite going to make it before the store closed and an fantastic employee waited a few minutes extra for us. We were so appreciative - she went above & beyond! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

“High-quality materials and workmanship. Appreciate the craftsperson signing and dating his work. Kudos Bramm. Telephone and internet communications were smooth and easy. Never placed on hold. Not once. Answers to questions were direct and definitive. Shipping costs a disincentive for small orders, but the shipping itself was flawlessly executed and personable.”

“I'm a longtime Chilton customer who has been buying Shaker-style pieces for years. My latest purchase is the cherry ladder shelf, which has great lines, solid wood, and plenty of space on staggered shelves. My order took several months because the company switched makers shortly after I bought the piece, but it was well worth the wait: the ladder shelf is well made, elegant, and a great way to show off stuff.”

“We recently purchased an Acadia headboard and two Foundation nightstands. The quality speaks for itself, with impeccable joinery and dovetailed drawers. The staff at Chilton's, Dennis Shippy in particular, were beyond helpful in helping us with our purchases and providing customer wervice.”

“The bedroom set we ordered (frame, nightstands and dresser) were beautifully made. Unfortunately the headboard was chipped during delivery but the customer service team at Chilton remedied it without any difficulty. Our overall experience was outstanding.”

“Well worth the wait! The cherry wood is beautiful, the construction impeccable! The family room has the leather couch in chocolate leather. Gorgeous! Also very firm which I love. The recliner also in chocolate leather is super comfortable-also quite firm. The media center is big and beautiful! Master bedroom was also furnished. Just as beautiful! Already ordered more! A lamp stand and a large bookshelf. Can’t wait!”

“There was a mix up in what I ordered and the piece of furniture was delivered before I realized it. When I called everyone was responsive and respectful. Zac in service was, however, a real stand out. He put a lot of time and effort into finding the right replacement, making sure I was satisfied with it, and then making the switch. And I live over 6hrs from the store. I was very impressed by him and the quality of employees at Chilton.”

“My wife and I have made multiple purchases from Chilton Furniture. Their products are of the highest quality and with proper care will last for generations. In the unlikely event there's a problem with an item, Chilton stands behind it and will remedy the issue. Their staff is courteous, knowledgeable and always responds honestly to questions. If you're looking for really good furniture Chilton's is a must stop.”

“Your furniture ia amazing! It is gorgeous and so well made. I knew I wanted it as soon as I saw your catalogue. Could you tell me what wood we have? I may want to order a table to go beside a chair in our bedroom. Your delivery guy from Poland was the nicest guy as well. He let us know when he would arrive twice and was on time. After he left us he still had a four hour drive to the Bay area. Then he was due at the next person's home at seven in the morning. He must have gotten four or five hours sleep that night. BTW the furniture arrived ahead of tme. I will send a photo when the room is put together. Sandy Putnam and husband, Chuck Jones”

“This is the second piece we have bought at Chilton’s furniture. I love the simple calming style of their furniture. We looked at the latest piece (linen press) in the Freeport store and picked it up months later (made to order) in the Lewiston warehouse. All communication was clear and we are one hundred percent happy with our purchase. Our first piece (buffet table) is 15 years old and still looks fantastic. The cherry color is now a lovely and rich looking. We highly recommend Chilton’s well made furniture and their customer service.”
