About Chilton Furniture:

Chilton is a family-owned, Maine company dedicated to selling fine, wood furniture, all American-made. We are known for our Shaker-inspired designs, and also feature Arts & Crafts, modern and cottage style pieces in solid cherry, maple, ash, walnut, and quarter-sawn oak. We are also known for the quality craftsmanship of our custom work. Many of our pieces can be custom built to your specifications.

Much of our furniture is handcrafted in small Maine workshops, and we also work with boutique craftsmen in New Hampshire, Vermont and the Midwest, many of whom have been partners for decades. All of these cabinetmakers have a Shaker-like dedication to workmanship, function, and simplicity of line and form. All of Chilton’s pieces are built to our high standards, and a growing number are original, proprietary designs.

“We've purchased several pieces from Chilton and have found them to be of top quality. The customer service is top notch, and the delivery people are also very good -- bringing in and assembling our Queen bed quickly and competently and answering questions. When I've phoned with questions, they are politely and knowledgeably answered right away. I would recommend Chilton to anyone.”

“The furniture was delivered into the room within the quilted moving blankets and was in perfect condition. The delivery team was courteous and prompt - even called us to alert us they would be 30 minutes earlier than scheduled. We have a difficult and narrow driveway and that was no problem for the delivery team. We are very happy with the purchase and would do it again.”

“Jim in Denver I saw a tiny ad in the New Yorker Magazine. Found Chilton and their marvelous hand- crafted natural wood rocking chair and bench. Fantastic workmanship, friendly personal service, and delivery. Everything was beyond my high expectations. As for the chair: it really rocks!”

“Outstanding quality & amazing customer service throughout. We tried to schedule and had to cancel pick-up twice and the third time, we were not quite going to make it before the store closed and an fantastic employee waited a few minutes extra for us. “High-quality materials and workmanship. Appreciate the craftsperson signing and dating his work. Kudos Bramm. Telephone and internet communications were smooth and easy. Never placed on hold. Not once. Answers to questions were direct and definitive. Shipping costs a disincentive for small orders, but the shipping itself was flawlessly executed and personable.”

“I'm a longtime Chilton customer who has been buying Shaker-style pieces for years. My latest purchase is the cherry ladder shelf, which has great lines, solid wood, and plenty of space on staggered shelves. My order took several months because the company switched makers shortly after I bought the piece, but it was well worth the wait: the ladder shelf is well made, elegant, and a great way to show off stuff.”
