I was involved in an accident that totalled my car because I was rear ended on the freeway. Mind you, there is damage to the bumper because of that, but the back windshield was not busted, their people did that! I went to the yard assigned through my insurance, which was Copart Auto Auction located at 7519 Woodman Ave. Van Nuys, California 91405 1509 My car was delivered to them around May 24th. I called ahead to let them know I will be coming in to get the remainder of the stuff out of my car. I came in on May 31st. I already felt upset knowing my car was at a yard along with other junk cars where I felt like it didn't belong because it meant so much to me. It was my first car I purchased. I was waiting for what felt like 30 minutes in an office filled with at least 10 people busy on their computers ignoring people with no hello or welcome greeting at all. To top it off, I only had 2 people in front of me. When I was finally noticed, a lady named G was playing stupid about my car not being there or them not being able to find it. Luckily, I have a low jack on my car and was able to show her that it was indeed there. Down to the exact date, and time it arrived, and where exactly on the lot it was located. Her demeanor quickly changed and she got scared and panicked when she found out I could track it. When they finally located it and brought it around for me to see. To my horror, it had been vandalized, the back windshield shattered with some glass inside the trunk, and some of my property was stolen. They took my tools, stole the spare tire, tire rod, ripped out my trunk subwoofer, and destroyed all of my custom seat covers. I just wish I had a camera to catch who did it, but then again, those greedy rogues would have stolen that as well! I am already in the process of trying to heal my physical wounds, but now thanks to this trash company and the people that run it compounding my pain, I have emotional wounds as well. Going back to the lady at the front desk that goes by "G". She was so cold hearted. When I told her what I had just saw from my car, she was very nonchalant about it. When I was trying to gather what little property I could salvage, she had the nerve to ask me do I know what type of car I want to get next, like my current one didn't mean anything to me. I put my blood, sweat, in tears into maintaining my car and making sure I stay on top of the payments, all without any help from anyone. When I asked her, is this how you guys treat people's property, she didn't say anything, but give me a blank soulless stare. I hope whoever reads this knows that what I am saying to be the truth and that you do not support this terribly run business. I hope these numerous complaints will give them a wake up call. If everyone cares to check, look up Copart on the BBB website, their headquarters is in Dallas, 14185 Dallas Parkway Suite 400 Dallas, TX 75254 they are NOT an accredited business. Their rating is very low on there as well to the point where they have so many complaints Better Business Bureau can't show them all. To the owner or whoever responds to these complaints, don't bother giving me the same generic response you give to all the other people that complain on here. You can keep your two cent opinion because you probably need it, just like your people kept my tools and subwoofer, which one of them probably installed in their car because their sound system is trash just like your company and the people that work there.

Just trying to deliver paperwork for insurance reasons. Completely ignored for 15 minutes not even eye contact. After waiting all that time somebody finally looks at me says "there's a virtual line you need to go out and get on it." As though every business in the world has a virtual line you're supposed to check in on before you get there. If I want to be treated like s*** I'll visit my family. No professionalism and extremely Petty.

Copart is a dirty company that doesn't even hide it. I was bidding on a vehicle recently that I was winning. It was a "pure sale" so, it had no reserve, and if you were the highest bidder at the end of the auction it was yours. Period. Well, less than 10 hours before the gavel fell, the listing was pulled and relisted immediately. When I called their customer support they basically said: it want making enough money, so they pulled it. It is a dirty business that apparently artificially hikes the price up.

I brought my boss here because GEICO instructed us to bring her paperwork. The women inside were extremely Rude to us. They ignored us because we were unfamiliar with their process, and when we tryed to explain this to them they were Extremely Rude in the way they talked to us..... What ever happened to Customer Service??? Not everyone understands the process in which each company conducts business. Stop talking down to customers because we don't know how to scan your QR Code and stop ignoring customers and talking down to us because we are not as "Tech Savy" as you would like. When they did finally sign us in, they talked to us like they were doing us a favor by helping us.

You listed a car as run and drives ( yes i know what that means in you terms) and by the pictures taken it showed very little damage however when the delivery co dropped it off it was obvious the picture's were taken at an angle no to show anything altered but the big fraudulent plan was that parts of the car you could see were replaced and painted (with a spray can) parts broken on the engine were bypassed so it would crank so to deceive the bidders and the $35k i gave for the vehicle will cost over $30k to repair on a $56k book car. A complete and deliberate act to defraud their costumes. These people a crooks. !!!!!

Copart has the highest fees of any auction, the worst customer service and doesn't even follow their own rules. Insurance Auto Auction is 100 times better.

Horrible customer service if there is a problem with your account.I have spent two weeks and hours upon hours on hold with the A.R. department and customer service trying to get a problem resolved that would be as simple as making a courtesy call.I have spent over a million dollars with this company. They could care less.and are glad to tell you so.Most of the problem seems to be with the California division.Nobody wants to take responsibility .you get passed back and forth until your dizzy.I have asked a least a dozen times for an E-mail as to whats going on and in two weeks not a one.One star is a compliment

I purchased a 2016 Harley switchback from Copart Rochester It was listed with front end damage "no other or secondary" paid$3000 as they loaded it on my trailer i noticed the right cover was missing and also the ECM and BCM so i called out the manager. we looked at the pictures posted for the listing and the parts where on the bike . at that point he told me he new nothing about motorcycles and to take it up with STATE FARM INS .it gets better!! when I got home I found out the internal parts of the engine drive had all been stolen and the covers replaced. called STATE FARM REP. back and was told he new parts had been stolen but not the ones I told him about. nothing was listed on auction "front end damage" I am now looking into legal actions against Copart and State Farm

Im a licensed motor vehicle and salvage dealer for more than five years, Im a IAA frequent buyer, I buy about 150 units a year, lately with covid-19 there is a shortage on vehicles so I started bidding on Copart to my surprise one of my wining bids of $12,900 pays a $2768 PURCHASE FEE , do the math thats about 25% on copart fees, think twice and stay away from this company IAA only charges on a vehicle like this with no license its a 15% FEE with my license is a %500 fee plus 1% of sale price thats 629dlls plus other little fees maybe $800 compared to Coparts $2768 thats a $2000 dollar diference, they say i need 12 cars bought in the last 365 days I have 8 because I dont buy that much with them, but I pay like if I had no license and at outrageous fees, I might never buy from Copart Again

Buyer Beware Won a lot for a Jeep. Made an offer to "buy it now." After the sale, I discovered it read "located offsite," and wasn't on the premises. I wished to view it (obviously). They told me that they couldn't reveal the private parties information for me to see it. Okay. I asked the name of the outfit selling it, they told me it was something like Guillorys auto and body. Quick search on the goog, I found the selling outfit, put it in maps, headed over myself. The Jeep had no battery, and no gas. The shop attendant tried his hardest to get it running, and when it cranked it misfired like someone yanked half the spark plugs out, smoked out the exhaust pipe like a chimney, and the gas fumes permeating from under the hood were unbearable. It killed after about 6 seconds, and wouldn't start back up. "Probably just a little trash in the fuel line, from running out of gas" He told me. I said, it was advertised as a run & drive. I then requested, that they (the seller) terminate the sale on their end to avoid the fees I would incur backing out. Surprisingly enough, they agreed, however, Copart, on the other hand, weren't having it, and wanted to get paid either way. They demanded I cover the $400 termination cost regardless of which party was in the wrong. And that vehicles were inspected by staff "on-site" albeit it was never delivered to their facility, and I was responsible for checking it out, even though they wouldn't reveal to me the location. I knew it something seemed sketchy from the start, that's why they didn't have it with the rest of the vehicles, and jumped through every hoop to hide it from me. I'm glad I went with my gut and had a hunch to go and check it out. Do what I did, before the 3 days are up to pay, go to my account, then navigate to the credit card section, get your deposit/deposits back, call up your card company, put a hold on all transactions for a week, and never, ever, do business with this fly-by-night company again.

Buyers be aware!!!! Traders and general public please stay away… stay away… stay away… from this company. Burn your money instead of buying from this fraudulent and deceptive company. Purchased a car from Copart was described as Run and Drive with minor dents & scratches. When delivered, it was discovered that the vehicle was involved in major accident and the outer panels were replaced to hide the extent of damage. Moreover all the major ECU, sensors and components were taken out prior to delivery. A complete fraud, deception and misrepresentation. The case will be in the court and I will inform the members about the outcome. They also charge disguised credit card charges in the name of “non-preferred payment method” which is illegal. I gona report that to consumer helpline. Will update about the outcome of both cases. They are making full use of COVID-19 to deceive customers because they can’t inspect the junk they are selling as salvage cars. I wonder how UK authorities are still allowing this to happen in this country.

I gave Copart a deposit they said it could be refunded in 1 -3 Bussnes Days . Not true, it’s been 3 weeks and I’ve been getting the run around and nobody’s been helpful, now they say we will send a check in 30 days , I never would have given them that money if I knew they were this shysty, they just don’t want to give refund. And keep making up reasons….So don’t believe them when they say it’s easy. It’s not .i never bout a car and don’t have any fees, just out of my 500bucks🤬 I guess I just keep calling, and begging , and calling and begging. Don’t get screwed like me . Hope this is helpful

Woodhaven, MI CoPart…They wouldn’t open the door for us (they were open with three customers, no limit in waiting area, they just looked at us through the glass door/wall), Horrible customer service (rude, dismissive, etc.). I asked about previewing available cars and was informed that I had to pay $59 to be a member, but she never told about the free guest membership.

STAY AWAY FROM COPART. Do NOT make business with Copart. STAY AWAY FROM COPART. Horrible customer service. I bought a vehicle from Copart Mebane, NC, they lost the title and I had to wait almost 3 months to receive it. No body cared about this (no even an apology) and all they kept saying was that they had to orden a copy of the title and that there was nothing they could do about it (with the most absolute lack of interest). On top of that the car was broken, proved that they did it while moving the vehicle, but they did not seem to care about this either. I had the worst experience with Copart. After so much back and forth they agreed to reimburse for the repair cost. We agreed that they would reimburse this amount to my bank account, but they did not do it as agreed and instead they added the credit to my Copart account (I do not want to make more business with them). When I called back, the manager (the person I had been in contact for the last 3 months about this matter), said that he couldn’t cancel this credit and mail a check and at this point, there was nothing he could do to help me. I felt like nobody cared about my situation during the whole time and getting a response was a hustle. This make me wonder, if they deposited 100k in my account, by mistake, there is nothing they could do about it? Stay away from Copart. The worst experience. Horrible customer service, specially Copart Mebane, NC.

This may have been the worst customer service I've ever dealt with. We scheduled a pickup between 12-5 the following day from my initial call. I was told they would be calling the next morning to give me a more accurate time table. They did indeed, call that morning. But not to narrow down the pick up time. The CSR insisted no time had been scheduled because I had hung up on them the day before and they couldn't pick up for another 3 days. When I explained that wasnttrue at all and what we had scheduled the day before I was told in no uncertain terms to call someone else if I needed pick up that day (which they had already agreed to and scheduled the day before). When I said "excuse me?", they promptly hung up. I called back, explained the situation and was treated so poorly and aggressively I told them I would rather call someone else as they couldn't seem to be honest about their ability to pick up as quickly as they promise and their customer service was less than stellar. He then told me he schedules 80 pick ups a day and knows what hes doing. And I'm obviously just an asshole, then hung up on again. These people were complete jerks and I would take half the money from a different company before ever using this them.

I’ve have bought 5 vehicles from copart all for personal use as a basic free member and I enjoyed the process in the beginning and didn’t mind adding deposits to bid. but now they charge so much money in fees on won lots it’s crazy. It keeps going up and up. Now they want to charge $59 for a membership that used to be free. I’m done with copart. It was fun while it lasted. I will NOT pay for a membership you just lost a customer

Not even sure where to start. We have been buying as premium buyers from Copart for years. After they put their COVID precautions into practice, you could no longer drive your vehicle out, it has to be forked. We bought two trucks and several SUVS from Dallas/Houston Texas. The 2016 truck that we bought, dented driveshaft due to inexperienced forklift operator. Second truck, broken brake line due to forklift operator. To make matters worse, a 2018 truck that we bought had a very high dollar drop down hitch in the pictures, when we went to pick the truck up, it was gone. Along with the floor mats, books and extra keys to many of the trucks we buy. When you draw this to Coparts attention, they will not own up to their actions. I HIGHLY recommend you just buy from IAAI. I have had far better success with them than Copart, because I don't seem to have these issues when buying from IAAI instead. I have written emails and called until I am blue in the face with Copart and seem to get nowhere. They did send me a replacement key to one of our truck recently but that is as good as it gets. Very dishonest, will cause your hair to turn grey a lot faster.
