“Costco stopped carrying name brand frozen boneless skinless chicken breast and started supplying Kirkland brand and we are on our second package of the frozen chicken breast and we are still finding bones in the chicken breast. Please beware when buying this product.”
“I had been FORCED to use Citi-Bank by applying for credit cards for the Home Depot and subsequently Costco.
As if the experience with the Home Depot Citi-Bank card wasn't so incredibly aggravating and frustrating, I should have known it would be no different when Costco forced us upon this ridiculous entity!
I have not only stopped using my Home Depot card(s), but because the Home Depot has become so unethical and selling nothing but JUNK TOOLS who's manufacturers won't take responsibility for I WILL NOT shop there any longer. Tractor Supply Company and ACE Hardware are SO MUCH better options. Citi-Banks credit card with the Home Depot was just the underscore in my decision to discontinue BOTH.
I recently misplaced my wallet, and went through locking all my credit cards therein. Attempting to contact Citi-Bank was an exercise in INCREDIBLE FRUSTRATION and ANGER. Their AI phone system is as impotent as Citi-Bank itself. After NUMEROUS calls in attempt to complete a simple task, the agent I spoke to, instead of locking the card, cancelled it and ordered a replacement. I found this out calling back less than 18 hours after my initial call. The CSR I then spoke to said she didn't know why the card was cancelled and reordered, as it simply could have been locked. The replacement took a full week to arrive.
Therein begat the ultimate frustration and aggravation. I had to call 4 times to get the 'new card' activated, FINALLY getting through to a live person, who advised the new card was activated and ready for use. WRONG!!!
I spent over 20,minutes at the Costco fuel station trying to use the card, because it was declined. 4 more attempts with that RIDICULOUS "Interactive Voice Recognition" joke of a 'Customer Service' method of Citi-Bank's I FINALLY got through to another 'live' person who stated the card was locked! How that happened who the heck knows. The card was originally cancelled and reordered, so the new card should NOT have been 'locked'. Further, when the 'live' representative had 'activated' the new card (after the 4 calls to do so), she SHOULD HAVE NOTICED IT WAS "LOCKED"!!!!
Incompetence and impotence....THATS Citi-Bank!!!
If it were not for the businesses I have CHOSEN to do business with, HAD NOT FORCED me to be associated with Citi-Bank, I never would be. Like the Home Depot it has seriously caused me to question my association with Costco, as THERE ARE ALTERNATIVES.
No doubt why there is THIS in regards to Citi-Bank:
Yes, Citibank (Citigroup) is in trouble, facing significant penalties and regulatory scrutiny due to persistent issues with risk management, data, and internal controls, which have led to large fines and a major reorganization under CEO Jane Fraser to correct these failures. The bank has been on notice from regulators since 2020 and has violated prior enforcement actions, most recently being fined $136 million in July 2024 for a lack of progress on fixing these issues.
Citigroup's controversies include recent and past instances of operational errors, such as mistakenly crediting an $81 trillion account, and the mismanagement of a $900 million payment to Revlon creditors, leading to financial losses. The bank has also faced significant regulatory penalties and legal actions for issues including discrimination against Armenian-American credit applicants, failing to protect consumers from fraud, and misleading investors in past financial scandals. The bank continues to operate under regulatory scrutiny for its internal risk management and data governance systems.”
“Extremely slow shipping from on-line shopping. Poor customer service on shipping status. Thought I could move some of my Amazon purchases to Costco online. But no such luck. While I enjoy their in store shopping the on-line experience is marginal at best”
“I genuinely love the items and the value they represent. However, they sometimes have recurring issues that off-put the visitor from enjoying their experience and membership.
The most distressing pain point is their lack of consistent customer service. It's not just me, there are too many stories of rude, dismissive, or unhelpful staff at the service desk. Professionalism is wanting. Hopefully corporate can provide the right incentives to lessen these problems throughout their locations.”
“Not so happy. This is the first Costco review I have ever done. Abot two weeks ago I purchased the Teton grassfed beef hot dogs, $4 off the discount book. Great deal, it comes as 3pks. I never bought these before. Opened one of the 3 and grilled in frying pan 2 of them. I cannot express how disappointed I was, they were as TOUGH as an old pair of shoes. I then cooked the rest of the same bunch, sliced in a soup, thinking it would soften..but it did not change the toughness of the sausage. I had to chew each piece for 10 minutes. This is the Last time I get these for sure. Sticking to Kiebalsa or hot dogs.”
“Couldn't find d prescription glasses frames i liked so I bought new frames and brought to costco. Very disappointed to be told they would not put glass in frames at first because they weren't new then because I didn't buy them at costco. Ten years I've been a member and this is horrible service. It's a glasses shop!!”
“Why did you ever get rid of the combination pizza slice? It was the best one you had and probably sold the most of all of them and you got rid of it doesn't make any sense. Bring it back.”
“New muffins are gross. I was buying the old 6 pack muffins weekly. I tried 3 flavors of the new ones. Wish I would have bought one pack to try first. They taste like cardboard and are dense and dry. Recipe change, poor ingredients garbage.”
“I have no idea about seniors citizens rules at Costco. I went shopping for thanksgiving and I was carrying around n my shopping cart heavy items, and he cashier was upset why I didn’t placed all my items on my he counter. She had 3 males helping her, but hey we’re talking about telephone brand name, same as he pictures came out. I told the cashier, I don’t work for Costco, she was thought it she was dong to me a favor, but I old her, I have coming to Costco since 1985, she was very arrogant. You should train them about how to treat a customer, is not for free, I pay for my membership $130 per year. Shame on this nasty attitude employed.”
“I love COSTCO and have been a member forever. For the first time, I am disappointed. The new muffins are terrible. They are much smaller and taste like cardbord. COSTO management - you cannot provide muffins that are NOT any good.”
“Constco...Why We Won't Be Renewing:
While there are several items we love at Costco, we will not be renewing our membership next year. At times, the vibe is downright communistic. Certainly anti freedom. For starters, you had better not show up without your card...and it better be YOUR card and not your spouses!!! They will kick you out faster than Joe Biden can say the word "garbage". They will also rescan it and verify the info again when you check out! And HEAVEN FORBID all you have is a Mastercard....because you won't even be able to buy a handshake with it at COMMY-CO!!! Wilson bank check cards need not apply!!! You might as well turn around in the parking lot and head to Sam's instead!! Ashley Dillard Rucker and I have several Mastercard type cards....and only 1 Visa. So at check out she was frantic because i was getting a hot dog and she couldn't find the Visa. I had to be summoned over to pay with mine. HOGWASH!!!!!! Commy-co is NOT worth the hype or the 1.50 hot dog combo to put up with this kind of Red China policy!!! Go to BJs or Sam's instead. BOTH of those places you WILL NOT EVEN BE ASKED for your card until you pay!!!!! And all major cards accepted!!! Commy Costco has us for the year, but after that no more!!! And I will express my opinion about them everywhere I go! #Costco #badbusiness”
“Changing the muffins to smaller and a horrible recipe was the worse business decision. We used to buy them for 125 staff often, not anymore. What were you thinking!”
“For me I switched from Sam's because I was told the Costco quality was superior than Sam's. 3 things I don't like with Costco, 1 you are forced to only pay with a Visa card. Be it debit or credit it MUST be visa. 2 they do not price match in store their own products with their own online price. 3 you can't use the app for anything other than look at your purchase history. You can't scan items and pay for a faster checkout process, you can't check if the item is available in store, and the price you see on the app might be different than in store so tough luck buy it in the app and wait for delivery.”
“This summer Costco decided to go to "child proof packaging" on their hearing aid batteries. It a good thing to protect children, yes. Consider this, mostly seniors buy heading aid batteries. The old packaging did not require tools to open. Now your requiring those 60, 70, or 80 year olds to have a pair of scissors available to cut their way into the child proof packaging. Yup, the new package says use scissors to open. Or you could carry loose batteries around in your pocket for your grand kids to find.”
“Dislike the way Costco keeps changing location of items and doing it very often. Today we found out that they have discontinued the double loaf county style bread and replaced it with a single loaf of rustic Italian, find it very dense and not good flavor. The price of the Filipino Berio olive oil jumped to $49.99 and their membership fees have increased too. Definitely dropping the executive membership and will consider doing more shopping at Walmart and Target. Your self check out employees could be more helpful with less attitude !”
“My friend had two tires wear out too soon(2000 miles), at this time no adjustment for the new tires made and at this point not expected. Had to make an appointment for new tires. 11:00 AM. Got there at 10:30 AM. tires completed at 12-1:00PM.!!! What is the purpose of a time frame? I could have gone to an emergency room with a splinter and got out faster!!!
Hoover Al. Costco stinks (at least the tire dept). Tire department personnel for the most part, lack of knowledge or rude! Next time Sams Club or retail tire store. Only 1 person from the install department seemed concerned, and of course is was flack!!! The manager was not there of course! So sad!!!”
“Tried to return some ill fitting glasses that simply were too big. The woman in optical assured
Me she was an expert and that they fit perfectly. Took three weeks to get them. They wouldn’t stay on my face, they were huge and heavy. I tried to return them and a man in optical said he couldn’t take them back. I said Costco will take anything back a woman assured me in customer service. The guy said I was just having buyers remorse! I said damn right, these are crappy fitting glasses that were almost shoved down my throat by a
Pushy sales gal. He said he’d refund my money but Costco will
Lose money. He will only do it once. Trust me, it’s the last time for me to buy glasses at Costco. I want expertly fitting high quality frames, not some outdated obsolete frames that couldn’t be sold somwhere else! I’m totally done with Costco Optical. Costco is also slipping hugely in customer service. You’d think I was taking money out of that chumps pocket. In hind sight, I was much too
Polite.”
“We shop in Costco all the time and love shopping there. We buy the roasted chickens all the time. Unfortunately we feel the change of packaging was a horrible decision. We are very unhappy with this change. The new packaging makes it much more difficult for to handle the chickens. Please return to the old packaging.”
“Bought organic fresh mangoes cut. Very dry hard flavor but very little moisture. The expiration date was June 30, 2024. I purchased it June 30, 2024. Too much of a bother to bring it back. I recently got a Costco card and I’m wondering by what I’ve been reading that perhaps produce is not the best thing to purchase there. An unhappy mango!”
