“Extremely slow shipping from on-line shopping. Poor customer service on shipping status. Thought I could move some of my Amazon purchases to Costco online. But no such luck. While I enjoy their in store shopping the on-line experience is marginal at best”

“Costco has been my go to for bulk shopping. They have great prices, quality products and a huge variety. I love the free samples and finding unexpected deals. The only downside is that it does get crowded, especially on weekends, it's worth the trip tho.”
“I am not a Costco member. I ordered two chairs that were on sale during MA tax free weekend and paid the non member surcharge. I received a confirmation email immediately. . Two days later my ordered was canceled by a second email.
I called them. An expired Costco member number was somehow attached to my order. And even though I paid the non member surcharge, their computer system canceled my order because of this.After 40 minutes on the phone, they said if I reordered they would refund the additional amount I would now have to pay if I called them after delivery of the chairs. They offered me a $20 card for a future item for the inconvenience.
The woman on the phone was very nice, but I did not want to have to call again and waste more time to get my money back. I will shop somewhere else.”

“I genuinely love the items and the value they represent. However, they sometimes have recurring issues that off-put the visitor from enjoying their experience and membership.
The most distressing pain point is their lack of consistent customer service. It's not just me, there are too many stories of rude, dismissive, or unhelpful staff at the service desk. Professionalism is wanting. Hopefully corporate can provide the right incentives to lessen these problems throughout their locations.”
“Costco’s delivery and installation service was a complete disaster. Calling it an 'installation service' is flat-out deceptive—they're just delivery guys with zero training or knowledge of the products. It felt more like a careless drop-off than any kind of professional setup. The customer service was equally awful—rude, dismissive, and completely unhelpful. This was by far the worst experience I’ve had buying an appliance. I strongly urge others to avoid purchasing appliances from Costco. Spend a little more at Lowe’s or Home Depot—you’ll save yourself a lot of frustration.”

“Turned away at the front door due to being 15 minutes early and only allowing EXECUTIVE members from 9-10 am. Considering you have to pay a membership fee annually, you should be able to shop whenever you want too. Absolutely ridiculous and not good for business. This could turn people away resulting in them shopping elsewhere.”

7/18/25 (also 5 Star) - Jerek Customer Service Member Renewal Maplewood, MN. He told previous customer how happy he was working at Costco C.S. for 11 years. I overheard conversation and when my turn for Membership Renewal asked him why he liked working at Costco. So impressed with his story and honesty. He shared prev. experience working at Sam's C.S. and compared to Costco C.S., and I shared my nightmares (endless) with Sam's Stores AND C.S. Just wish you guys would give us a store near Lino Lakes, Blaine, Forest Lake Area...Have been anxiously waiting for years!”
“Review for Costco – Very Disappointed
I left Costco feeling upset and disappointed. I had created and paid for my membership through the app, but when I got to the store, they wouldn’t let me in because the payment showed as “pending.”
The customer service rep, Jasmin, claimed she had refunded me two days ago so I could be charged again—but I never received a refund. She said if she charged me again, I’d have to come back in person just to get a refund for the second charge, which made no sense at all.
On top of that, her attitude was rude and unprofessional. She spoke to me with an ugly tone in front of other customers, which was embarrassing and unnecessary.
I canceled my Sam’s Club membership to give Costco a try, but after this experience—I’ll never go back to Costco again.”
“It makes me unhappy because I can't buy prime ribeye steaks from them because they cut the Cap off them and sell it separately. Other objections I have is they have standard brands that they have them make cheaper and sell it with the same label it getting worse over the years.”
