Appalling service! Trying to discourage you to make a claim and finding any possible way to reduce the financial compensation. Avoid at all costs !

Avoid at all times, I had a no fault accident in February. Covea did everything to avoid fixing my vehicle, you will have to do all the phone calls, when I asked how long it would take to get my excess back I was told how long is a bit of string, not really helpful. My Lloyds policy says I will have a curtesy car whilst mine was repaired, not so according to covea. The car took 6 Weeks to repair, curtesy car had to be returned after 4 Weeks, they were not bothered that I would be unable to get to work for 2 weeks, told me I would have to hire a car privately. So now we are in June, still not had my excess refunded. Had no communication from covea, if you are going to phone then you had best put aside an hour of your day because they take 35 minutes to answer then pass you around then they do nothing to answer your questions. Avoid at all times, complete waste of time, they don’t deserve even 1 star.

The customer service is appalling. Contacting Covea by phone is a waste of time as your ping ponged from one to the other than cut off. Trying to get an engineer is impossible. They refuse to resolve the issue to my satisfaction which as been on going for over 2 months. I've never met such an uncaring insurance company. In my life time of driving this is the worst motor insurance I've ever come across. I hope I never have to go through covea again. As it's part of Saga Covea is not doing saga any favours. I will not recommend covea to anyone.

We had a leak in our ceiling which caused a hole in the porch. The entire heating system leaked through the ceiling which is about 5/6 radiators and the water storage. Unfortunately, we got Chris who said we were attempting to commit insurance fraud (the work was about £1000 and we would pay £250 excess) so pretty unlikely. They immediately threatened us with higher premiums. Don't mind having the work queried but we had a receipt for an emergency plumber who confirmed the leak. Left a bad taste in my mouth haven't claimed in over a decade.

Avoid this company at all costs. They are absolutely crooks. If I had not been renewing my late mothers insurance as executor I would have researched them. I have just put a complaint in but they are seriously bad. In spite of being able to prove that I informed the broker in a timely manner they are trying to make out that I will not be covered as the house is unoccupied…tell me something I don’t know..that is what happens when someone dies and you are waiting for probate. They are absolutely unbelievable in their desire to wriggle out of processing a claim. Well I have put an official complaint in and will take it all the way if I have to. They should not be allowed to operate like this. It makes me so very angry.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Such a shame that this dreadful company brings the good name of Saga down. As I never expected to claim, I did not research this company. Absolutely dreadful. They even accused me straight out of taking out insurance to claim for things that were already broken. Their story falls short as I was actually UPSOLD household contants insurance when making an enquiry about my car insurance. They are still dragging it on for months and months over a very small claim. Bringing the name SAGA into disrepute and blaming them for the delay. This company should be closed down by the Ombudsman.

On the 14th March i was rear-ended by a vehicle insured by Covea, even though he has taken full responsibility they are putting a block on repairing my car for no reason at all. This is causing me a lot of stress and hassle, communication from them is non existent this is really not what i need as im still dealing with a very sore back and whiplash 4 weeks on please DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

On the 31st Jan 2022 my car was hit the 3rd party have accepted liability and I have even had agreement with their independent assessor as to value of vehicle, however I have still not been paid. Hire car has been taken back, and still no payment latest is that it could be another 4 weeks it has already been 8 and they are still pondering. Only thing these people understand 14 day letter sent and in 14 days I will start county court proceedings against them. They are rubbish unhelpful and do not care about their customers. Hence why they hide behind other companies names to sell poor services, all it means is that companies like Lloyds will get bad feedback and a poor reputation.

A shambles of a company - Avoid ALL insurance products underwritten by Covea or processed by Sterling Client Services. Buyer beware… if you’re a Vitality Health policy holder and they try to sell you their new motor insurance offering, it’s underwritten by Covea so I’d suggest giving it a miss based on my experience below. I really pity Vitality partnering with this crowd and how they will damage their brand. My situation…one of the worst customer/claims experiences I’ve had the misfortune of been involved with. It took 2.5 months to get a simple pet insurance claim processes through their “Pet Admin Team – claims@ petadminteam.com”. I can only assume it’s part of Sterling or some other third party processing centre. Nobody could tell me!! I experienced every hoop and tactic to avoid paying out my low value claim. The same information was requested numerous times, unable to provide any explanation as to why specific info was needed when asked. Hoop after hoop after hoop. I shudder to think if my pet required serious treatment which costed 1000’s. It was truly woeful. After all of the above, as a final attempt for “support”, I contacted the that last bastion/final frontier which was the Covea Customer Resolutions/Complaints team. You expect teams like this to be equipped to take ownership of escalated issues and be able to navigate their own organisation to find solutions. Not this one… only resolution was to give me the number of the Pet Admin Team to call myself again. (which takes 30 mins+ to get through to). I asked would they not escalate it themselves, help me out, speak to a team leader or operations manager – do the work expected of a complaints team – Nah. The agent tried to pretend I was put through to the wrong department, put me on hold…nobody on her team or her manager knew anything or could help…bizarre! I’m still waiting for the call back I was told I’d get to get me off the phone. Covea.. you need to sort your culture and values out, there was not one morsel of customer experience or obsession exhibited from anyone I spoke to… nobody wanted to do anything to help or go above and beyond to help. The lesson I have learned is, if you’re purchasing a policy of any sort through a broker, check who it’s underwritten by and do you research into their customer or claims service.

In April 2021 I was involved in a multiple vehicle accident. All parties involved in the accident agreed I was not at fault. My insurance provider (M&S) referred me to the Covea Insurance to pursue an insurance claim. Covea processed my claim and agreed to pay a sum for my car (after negotiating), however they then took £350 excess from the payment which they assured me would be reimbursed by the insurance party of the person at fault. This has not happened and I now find myself listed on the Insurance Database as a possible "at fault" driver. I made numerous calls & sent countless e-mails to Covea but 9 months later they have still taken no action. So I lost all my no claims bonus and have to pay over double what I was previously paying for motor insurance. Every time I complain Covea state they will bring this to swift conclusion but nothing ever happens. I will not be using this company again and urge others not to.

wow really i have been in touch with your complaints department and after fobbing me off over the two yes two business interuption policies i have with covea you have sold the broker down the line telling me it was a miss sell on my policies so thats ten years premium back then plus 8% compensation i don't think so just settle our claims and stop hiding and blaming everyone else for the stupid policy wording you paid out the nurseries pay out the shop policies its a bigger disgrace then the boris johnston parties the insurance companies would not cover the liability in half the care homes and other venues cant wait for the general public to wake up up to who truly stopped people seeing there loved ones

Claim for leak through roof and into the hallway during torrential rain. Covea sent out an assessor from BVS Mr Mabbs who concluded that there was no storm damage to my roof and unless I could prove weather conditions on the said days, that I wouldn’t be covered for contents either. Found proof online of the torrential rain on the dates reported, along with phots/videos ( all dates) of water running though my ceiling like a shower, text conversation RE the incident, Twitter reports of flooding in my area on the dates in question and now they’ve come back and said they can’t accept this as it’s off the internet. If I can find it, why can’t they and how the hell am I supposed to get that info from ??? I really don’t know how much more proof I can send and surely this should be down to them to investigate. The stress of being made to feel like a fraud for a service that I’ve paid for to cover me for such incidents is not nice. Ombudsmen here I come !!

AVOID at all cost. I wish I had read the reviews before taking out insurance with them. They are doing everything they can to wriggle out of my insurance claim and even sent someone from their ' fraud squad' to interview me at my house and to record the interview ! He wasn't excited when I told him I was recording it too. My husband insisted on sitting in on the interview and stopped it several times because the bloke was trying to lead me to say things that weren't true ! All documents have 'criminal department' or other unnerving titles on them I'm assuming to try and put you off claiming ! Absolutely scammers and I am now having to go to court ! AVOID at all cost !

Hi, This is a warning for anybody thinking about taking out any policy home insurance what ever out with Covea Avoid!!! Took out home insurance which i thought it would of been swinton as thats who i went through and its also where i have my car insurance, anyway cut a long story short we had a accident with our tv at home we was in pieces over it as we never normally have accidents and it had to be our tv of all things which was only a few months old, anyway we rung swinton which put us in touch with Covea that was the first time we knew who our house insurance was with, spoke to a woman called Sharon Hudson who said she was the claims handler and she will be handling my claim which was a bit of a joke as that was the only time i spoke to her. Had a guy ring me then a few days later Adam Lamb was his name ringing of behalf of covea who question me like you would not believe i felt like a criminal coming off the phone and i have never be made to feel so low, from that day i had a negative outlook on the whole of this, i had to send pictures off twice of the tv showing it was broke and the serial no to two seperate locations, nobody from covea was keeping me informed of what was happening i was always chasing them, on the one call to covea they told me everything was in hand and all they are waiting was the green light from swinton for them to go ahead with replacing or paying out, so i phoned swinton and told them what they said as i wanted to know what the hold up was, swinton replied its them who make the decisions not us they should not say that they are lieing, i was shocked, not only was we feeling down about the breaking of the tv, and the way they made us feel but know their lieing to us, what type of company is this?? Anyway after weeks i recieved a letter from covea saying basically they turned down my claim as i did not mention i had ccj's Now this was a new one to me as i didnt even know i had ccj's and further more i didnt even recall seeing a question of have you got ccj, s in the policy when i was filling it out. They took best part of a month to find a loop hole, this is what this company is all about, its companies like this who destroy peoples inners, The underwriters for covea should be totally ashamed of them selves but then they are probly suited to that line of work, low, heartless and could not give a dam of the emotional damage they cause. Just remember the name Covea Insurance.

On going claim following a burglary, this company will make you feel worse than the scumbags that commit the offence. They will try anything and everything NOT to pay on your loss. I would NEVER recommend this company… please find an alternative broker

Very poor customer care, service and support following a burglary on our home. Difficult to contact initially and unhelpful once we made contact. Will definitely not be renewing with them or recommending them to family, friends and colleagues.
