Horrendous customer service, after 48 mins on the phone my problem still hadn't been sorted. Now have to wait 24 hours for a manager to listen to my call and then call back. I can honestly say I don't think I've ever received such poor customer service anyway else.

If I could give them zero I would. Completely wrong item received, They then refused to send my actual item until I returned the wrong item. I asked for a courier to come and collect it on a Saturday as I work 9-5 weekdays and they refused. The only way to solve it was that I had to print out return labels and take it to a collection depot. Once I had done this they released the item I paid £475 for and insisted it would be with me the next day (Saturday) as a showing of good will. I sat in all day and no delivery. I still have not received the item and don't know whether I will. Their call centre and staff were appalling and would not let me speak to any managers, I will genuinely never set foot in a Debenhams ever again. Awful company.

Seems that reading the reviews we all of the same opinion, your staffs attitude is appaulling, they quote one policy for returns and then they treat you disgracefully when you genuinely need to return something and then they refund because they can't find a fault after being rude and have attitude with you!!! Do not shop here, or if you do, don't return as they are vile.

I went to the MAC store to purchase a foundation, after waiting in the line for a good couple of minutes I was re-directed to the Urban Decay checkout area as there was only one cashier (even though i was next in line) I went over to the Urban Decay counter and waited patiently the lady at the counter looked at me twice, and after waiting a couple of minutes told me "it was best to go to another checkout area as she was going to be a while" with an attitude, I have no problem with waiting but she could have told me this in the first place rather than letting me wait. I then had to walk around looking for someone to serve me as no one was on a till. I have worked in retail before so I understand It probably had been a long day but at the end of the day I am a paying customer.

Purchased a pair of Brogues on offer for £42.50. Heels worn after 18 days nails coming through soles. Debenhams think it is acceptable as I returned them andd they sent them back to me saying not resaleable so did not fit there returns criteria. I have spoken to customer services who are very unhepfull and rude, they initially told me to email head office which I did but they did not reply. Today I have been told after phoning customer service again I need to return to store. 40 mile round trip, parking petrol. Why shop on line if you have to return faulty good to store. So far I have foung them rude, unhelpful and will not shop there anymore. So beware if your item is not fit for purpose or faullty it is down to you to return to store. Shop at John Lewis instead first class customer service.

MOST APPALLING CUSTOMER CARE THAT I HAVE EVER RECEIVED Made an order on line and when it did not arrive I telephoned their 0844 number. The people I spoke to Anthony, Lucky and Arran were the most pig ignorant people I have ever had the misfortune to speak to. None of them would let me speak with a team leader nor put me through to the complaints department. All they wanted to tell me was that I was wrong. Debenhams have taken my money and I do not have the goods that I paid for. To me this is theft. Do not deal with this load of crooks.

Refused to return a shirt at the Uxbridge branch the following day after purchase. Brand new with tags and receipt!! Spoke to the assistant manager who was very rude. Contacted the CEO of Debenhams who couldn't give a monkeys. In the end walked into the Slough branch who refunded the shirt without any questions. Will never shop with Debenhams again. Looks like there needs to be big changes starting at the very top

Visited shoe department in Carmarthen Store Wales, asked the assistant a young dark haired girl if they had in stock Size 8 Robert Vianni boots in tan, she shook her head and that was it, so ignorant not interested obviously did not want to be there, never even asked if I wanted to check out a different style or make, has to be the worst I have experienced. It may seem to be worst as I have just returned from LA after spending 3 weeks there, the staff in shops out there cannot do enough for you. Wont be visiting Debenhams again.

I find the Debenhams branch in Warrington, poorly staffed, especially on a Sunday. Staff are not always happy to help provide customer service, and appear to rather stand and chat to their colleagues. Each time I have tried to purchase make up from Dior and Elizabeth Arden counters items have never been in stock.

Not sure if this is the correct forum but since there seems to be nowhere for in store feedback - I'd be obliged if you could ensure it reaches the correct ears. So here goes. Debenhams Whiterose store! Shopping for new shoulder bag, found item and decided to purchase. Loose labelled for £70 inside bag, on reaching till was told it was £100. Returned to display to re check and found the same bag labeled at £95, returned to the till next door only to be told it was £56 which we queried and advised cashier to check with the cashier who originally told me it was £100. Label inside bag was rechecked and it was confirmed the item cost £100. Staff member then decided to involve a manager at which point Debenhams legal responsibilities were explained to us and we were advised that we should wait while said manager checked out whether the stock should be removed from the shelves or if they should sell it to us????? At this point the already crumbling buyer experience fell to bits and we decided to leave the store bag-less. You really need to up your game, Guys!! :-( .............. While we are on, we may as well mention the lack of service we received in the cafe, no plates to put the self service cake on, the luke warm coffee and the stale I nedible cake we purchased - but I guess thats another story....... Would love to have a reply.

I ordered a dishwasher from Debenhams Plus for delivery and installation. The earliest slot was 1.5 weeks away at a hefty installation fee! It was supposed to be delivered on Sunday so I didn't mind paying the higher fee. Knowhow, Debenhams delivery firm called me on Sunday afternoon to say the Lorry broke down. They had rescheduled it for the following day between 1pm and 5pm. I rushed home to be there and they never showed or called. So I called Debenhams who then told me the item was out of stock and would be delivered now until Friday!!! I was so cross as I missed 1/2 day of work. Not to mention that Knowhows and Debenhams stories didn't match. When I asked to be compensated I was told they would give me £30 off. I was insulted as Debenhams delivery fee was £ 50 higher then their competitors....hardly a deal for missing 1/2days of work and then a further day on Friday as I was told they didn't have time slots. I ended up having to cancel in the order as I felt they couldn't be trusted to deliver the goods.
