“The clothes I bought were okay, but the bicycle's basket holder was poor quality, because it broke down the same day. Needed to find something suitable to it from other shop. I would not recommend it.”

“The next day delivery I asked for took 6 days in total and 3 phonically to chase it. The member of staff at Decathlon was extremely helpful and courteous and a pleasure to speak to. The problem lay with the courier company I believe. Also the items I ordered are slightly on the small side. I haven't decided what to keep as yet. I don't think they are very true to size. Quality seems ok, but not exceptional.”

“Click and collect waste of time. Ordered a fully waterproof running jacket, as no where local had it in stock used the click and collect service. First jacket got dispatched but never arrived at the store, took 2 e-mails for them to re-order. I then waited for the e-mail to say that it was available for me to collect. After 5 days of waiting called the service team up, only for the women to cheerfully say if the store hadn't scanned the item, and apparently they don't always, it's probably sat there waiting for me. A quick phone call confirmed this. So basically ignore the information from decathlon that clearly says don't attempt to pick your item up without confirmation that it's there as the e-mail may never come!!!! 1 star was for apologetic staff.”

“The ladies leisure shoes I ordered proved to have manufacturer sizing errors (twice!!). It was annoying and a hassle to send back twice but the customer service and no quibble returns and very fast delivery was refreshing and made up for it. Would shop with Decathlon again. Great service.”

“I have never provided feedback to a store before but was so pleased with the service provided in all my dealings with Decathlon. I ordered online, service was first class. All items purchased for forthcoming ski holiday were of a really good quality, washed well and very reasonable priced. IStaff in store were very helpful and friendly. I would recommend Decathlon to anyone.”

“Like the curate's egg Decathlon is good in parts. I bought a Btwin 720 Ultra AF Road Bike through the CycleScheme. The bike itself is excellent and represents fantastic value for money. I wish I could give the store similar praise but I can't. I'd contacted the store the week before I wanted to collect the bike and was told that was fine and everything would be ready. I contacted the store the day before collection and was told they had no record of my previous call but not a problem the bike would still be ready. When I arrived the following day to collect the bike I was told yes the Mountain Bike was ready. When I said I'd order a 720 AF Road Bike the assistant remembered he'd spoken to me the day before and had indeed prepared a road bike. Great apart from the fact it wasn't the right model! Not a problem they had the right bike in stock and would get it ready. Only if it was so simple. Btwin bikes come fully built up from their factory in France but are delivered with the brakes set up continental style i.e. with the left brake lever operating the front brake. The assistant said that to change this over would take at least 1 hour and 45 minutes. I offered to take the bike as was and sort it out myself but was told Decathlon aren't allowed to release the bike to the customer with the brakes set up this way or so I was initially told. Anyway after 15 to 20 minutes and not much progress the assistant told me if I was happy to sign a disclaimer I could take the bike as was and sort the brakes out myself or come back another day and they'd sort them. To go back another day would have meant a 60 mile round trip so I opted to sort the brakes out myself. Internally routed brakes aren't straightforward to swap over but I'm glad I did it myself as I know the job has been done right. The problem I encountered could have been easily avoided had it been possible to book a CycleScheme bike collection online. As it was it relied on shop assistants remembering to make a note of the calls I'd made which clearly hadn't happened. Had the bike been ready I would have been saying what a brilliant bike and what brilliant service but as it is I've been left feeling quite disappointed with Decathlon.”
