“Like the curate's egg Decathlon is good in parts. I bought a Btwin 720 Ultra AF Road Bike through the CycleScheme. The bike itself is excellent and represents fantastic value for money. I wish I could give the store similar praise but I can't. I'd contacted the store the week before I wanted to collect the bike and was told that was fine and everything would be ready. I contacted the store the day before collection and was told they had no record of my previous call but not a problem the bike would still be ready. When I arrived the following day to collect the bike I was told yes the Mountain Bike was ready. When I said I'd order a 720 AF Road Bike the assistant remembered he'd spoken to me the day before and had indeed prepared a road bike. Great apart from the fact it wasn't the right model! Not a problem they had the right bike in stock and would get it ready. Only if it was so simple. Btwin bikes come fully built up from their factory in France but are delivered with the brakes set up continental style i.e. with the left brake lever operating the front brake. The assistant said that to change this over would take at least 1 hour and 45 minutes. I offered to take the bike as was and sort it out myself but was told Decathlon aren't allowed to release the bike to the customer with the brakes set up this way or so I was initially told. Anyway after 15 to 20 minutes and not much progress the assistant told me if I was happy to sign a disclaimer I could take the bike as was and sort the brakes out myself or come back another day and they'd sort them. To go back another day would have meant a 60 mile round trip so I opted to sort the brakes out myself. Internally routed brakes aren't straightforward to swap over but I'm glad I did it myself as I know the job has been done right. The problem I encountered could have been easily avoided had it been possible to book a CycleScheme bike collection online. As it was it relied on shop assistants remembering to make a note of the calls I'd made which clearly hadn't happened. Had the bike been ready I would have been saying what a brilliant bike and what brilliant service but as it is I've been left feeling quite disappointed with Decathlon.”

“Last year I bought 2 pair of trousers in Decathlon Nice. I liked them a lot. I tried to get the same ones in Wandsworth a few weeks ago. They were none in the shop. I ordered them online. They are a are now a bit different. Still ok but not as comfortable as the old ones. Slightly disappointed.”

“very helpful staff, nice to see a uniform which looks good too. as we have only shopped by internet was a bit shocked that the shop only holds certain stock and colours but understand why, so much choice.online Did like and would recommend these shops for people especially with Children for them to see and try the bikes and no doubt adults too. Clothing sizes due differ so tops brought for me to small but wife's claimed them.”
