I ordered two pairs of glasses at the total cost of £24.95 using the same prescription, one pair arrived and the prescription was totally out and the glasses were not fit for use. I cancelled the second pair as 10 days later they had not arrived and returned the first pair as they were obviously wrong. For this I was refunded £10 Direct sight said they matched my the prescription and blamed Boots who did my eye test. By the 30 November the second pair of glasses had not arrived and I cancelled the order and returned the glasses I had received, which cost me £2.85 in postage for which I was refunded a further £12.45 I then ordered two more pairs of glasses from another online company using the same prescription and values. These glasses gave me perfect vision, which confirms that there must have been a mistake with the glasses I ordered from Direct Sight. Direct Sight continued to insist they hadn't made mistake and would not refund the remaining £5.35 I insisted they owed me. They suggested I write to them rather email to escalate my complaint, this I did but the only reply I got was an email from the same person who told me to write the letter, still insisting that they had refunded re their policy and that they had not made a mistake with my order.

I am still waiting after two months and £270, no contact phone number and one response to three emails I would never use this company again or recommend it

Terrible products, poor quality, bad packaging which the glasses do not fit in (my glasses arrived damaged as a result), terrible customer service (no phone line) and they do not even supply a case as standard. Avoid at all costs. Wish I hadn't bothered.

Sent sunglasses frames for a reglaze. When they came back, the vision I had through the lenses caused me dizziness and vision only clear if I tilted my head backward (as though the field of vision showing correct prescription was tiny and too low). Sent frames back for refund as I had used this company previously with no problem and now had no confidence in recent service, but only got 1/3 of my money back. Also, received snotty note on the returned frames suggesting it was my optician's fault since the original lenses were a different prescription than what I requested (well, of course they were - I purchased the frames at a charity shop, hence the reglaze!)

Another faceless company who promise. Free returns then hide behind small print saying they will not refund as the glasses are bespoke and you will npt get your money back so bear this in mind when ordering

Said you you can try before you buy but then deduct the cost of the frames from the refund when you send them back

I'm having major problems with this company, I have purchased glasses previously and all has been good. However this time I ordered a pair of prescription sunglasses and a pair of standard glasses. The sunglasses arrived but are wonky, I have managed to sort this myself but not impressed. Over a month after the order had been placed still no sign of the standard glasses, and still not in production according to their website, so I asked them to cancel and refund, they did cancel the order and promise a refund, but didn't apologise or give any explanation for the delay. A week and a half later, still no refund, I've now raised a claim with paypal and am awaiting the outcome of this, I won't be ordering from them again, so they have managed to lose a loyal customer with their lack of customer service. After posting the above on Facebook, they responded telling me they had cancelled the order after they had sent me an email telling me the glasses were out of stock and that I had responded to the email saying I wanted to cancel, this is a lie, and I would be happy to send my emails to Direct sight to prove this, they also told me that their customer service department had been trying to contact me, another lie, I haven't heard anything from them, and I have checked and made sure that they have my correct contact details. I am still waiting for a refund. I would like direct sight to explain to me why they believe they should be able to keep my money.

Ordered varifocals via their website. I kept tracking my order which was saying "with opticians" I phoned them after 13 days to be told they were waiting for a reply to an email that they had not sent. I had received other promotional emails from them though. Really annoyed that nobody had tried to contact me. Decided to cancel my order with them and gone where I should have gone in the first place to Specsavers. varifocals seem too complicated for them to do unless you have had varifocals before from a local optician. So all in all a waste of two weeks.

Paid for fast track delivery, 1-5 days. After 10 days I asked for dispatch immediately and they replied stating they would be sent that night. They aren't dispatched until the next day and in total took 13 days to arrive. Emails asking for a refund for their fast track service were ignored. Ultimately had to on holiday without prescription sunglasses which was highly inconvenient while driving. Ultimately, they're crap.

Very bad customer service and glasses. My vision was distorted even though I had given the correct prescription and they would not refund me for the cost of the lenses, only the frames.

I had frames reglazed by Direct Sight. They were returned in packaging that was so flimsy that it offered no protection in the post - as a result my frames were bent in transit. Direct Sight offered simply to 'adjust' my frames if I returned them to their care, and will not admit any fault in the matter.

A few months ago I purchased four identical frames with different lenses (one distant, one near, one photochromic distant and one sunglasses distant). Within a couple of weeks the first one failed with one of the arms detaching from the hinge. This was replaced free of charge after about 3 weeks. Then a 2nd one failed, and the 3rd one, or failing in the same way clearly indicating a faulty batch of frames. Next one of the ones that had been repaired also failed making a total of 4 failures over a few months. In addition, the photochromic lenses were clearly defective in that the lens had been inadequately polished before the antireflection coating was added to them. This produced rather curious diffraction patterns. As I work on optics in the University I was able to provide images to demonstrate the failings. After the 4th failure I decided to return all to DirectSight since it was clear that I could not rely on any of these glasses to last, and would be lost without them. I requested a full refund of the £278 paid for them. The company in fact refund it only £103 claiming that the lenses are never refunded. I have been buying glasses online for many years and had extremely pleased with them from a variety of suppliers. This is the first time I have used DirectSight and would certainly not use them again.

Not happy with their service at all. I sent two pair of my Ray Ban Glasses for reglazing. - It was supposed to be one tinted lenses and one clear ones. - I attached clear instruction which glasses will have the tinted lenses. When I received them, they put tinted lenses on the ones which were supposed to be clear, and the clear on my sunglasses. There is no telephone number to contact them, so I emailed then I sent them back the glasses for correcting the mistake. The glasses were sent back after about 10 days, the clear lenses still gave me vision problem and headache after two weeks wearing them. Also they damaged my frame too. The arms of my frame became so loose after the second reglazing. I had to return them for another adjustment but no improvement when returned to me. I will not use this company again and will not recommend to anyone to them.

I ordered a pair of glasses and they cost £104. They took over a month to arrive, when they did they were unfit for purpose as the frame which was supposed to me a man's was too small, the arms did not go over the ears. The lenses were very flimsy and fell out when trying to clean them. I returned them for a refund and did not want a replacment as the quality left so much to be desired. It took well over another month and an email before they refunded me £33.95. I was charged £70 for the flimsy lenses. When I started questioning the amount refunded I found their emails were rude and dismissive. Looking on other review sights they score an average of 1, so use them at your own risk as I think they are crooks. I ended up going to Asda opticians and was able to get a pair of designer glasses for £100 ten time better than the rubbish this firm passes off.

First couple of orders were ok but the moment there is a problem, they back track everything they say and then try to get even more money out of you. Even after completely clarifying everything with 'Emily' regarding my refund/exchange they are still trying to rip me off! They are useless. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES ORDER ANYTHING FROM THIS THIEVING COMPANY. I wish I never had as now I am trying to get a refund back which they said I could have but will not give me. They change their story to suit them. They are utter RUBBISH!

I finally received my glasses and an email stating that my money has been returned. I will be checking this later with my credit card company. So, 41 days later I have my lovely glasses back but without new lenses.

Do not use I sent my £250 glasses to this company on 24 April and received confirmation on 27 April. After reading multiple appalling reviews I tried to ring the company - the number given does not exist. I emailed them and received a polite email from 'EMILY' - no surname given and written under a generic email address. On 28 May I finally cancelled the order after checking the company details on Companies House website. I checked with my credit card company who advise the money has not been returned - and neither have my glasses. If the money and glasses are not returned I will be contacting the police and Opticians Council as this person (yes - this is a sole trader) is not registered with them.
