“Brilliant service and quick delivery. Was really happy with the extra freebies included with a case and grip. However not as impressed with the racket so have sent a separate enquiry about that. Only used one and already the paint is coming off! But Direct Sports as a company. I’d highly recommend!”

“Really good racket and competitive price. Only thing is the stencil ‘logo’ that I got for free is not good and actually makes the racket look worse. Paint has not been done properly, looks like it has been done quickly and without care so actually I’d prefer if the racket had not had the logo stencillled on. I’d advise other purchasers to not get this option”

“I orderEd badminton shoes so my son can decide what fits him & after that when i tried to return same day after delivery it shows incorrect details/ return period expired. How it can be & now i am waiting for customer care to help me to return. Pathetic customer service”

“I ordered 12 tubes of Victor Carbonsonic shuttlecocks (£242.87) with "DPD Two Day" delivery clearly listed and paid for at checkout. Two days later, nothing had moved. I called and was told the order hadn't even left the warehouse because of a bank holiday backlog — and that if I wanted it to arrive in time for the game I needed it for, I'd have to pay an additional £4 to expedite it myself. I paid the extra £4 out of my own pocket to fix a problem entirely of their making. When I complained and asked why I should have to pay to correct their missed delivery promise, their response (from "Carli," E-Commerce Manager) was that the two-day timeframe is only an "estimate" buried in their T&Cs, not a guarantee, and that they don't refund upgrade costs "on an individual basis" because it "wouldn't be fair to other affected customers." So the logic is: advertise a delivery speed you can't hit, blame a backlog you knew about, then charge customers extra to receive what they already paid for — and refuse to make it right when you're called on it. No goodwill gesture, no partial refund, nothing beyond a scripted apology. If you need your order to actually arrive when they say it will, look elsewhere.”

“Absolutely excellent company. Was hesitant about ordering an expensive tennis racquet online and choosing stringing, tension etc. My Wilson blade arrived the next day. Perfectly packed, free balls, lovely racquet. Absolutely happy with racquet and would definitely use Direct Sports if needed in the future. 10/10”

“Awful. Placed order for next day delivery. Received two shipping notifications with different tracking numbers. Following day, neither tracking number had been updated. Tried calling five times before finally getting through without being automatically disconnected - was promised a call back. Hour later, no call, when I called back the person was dismissive, rude and unapologetic. I still have no goods, no idea when I'll get them and nothing close to an apology. For Direct Sports, read Sports Direct as far as customer service goes..”

“Ordered the Karakal grip listed as "Assorted" with all six colours shown - got a single random one. A £3.65 grip cost £8.60 after postage, and returns carry a £3.99 fee, so you're stuck with whatever arrives. Asked for a refund twice and got the same scripted reply. The only retailer I've seen that charges you extra to return. Won't be back.”
