I moved into my townhome in Harrisburg Village (North Carolina) in December 2021. I took advantage of the appliance package offered to me; which included blinds, refrigerator, and washer/dryer. Fast forward to August 2023, my drain pump goes out in my washer. My son and I are the only ones living here, I only do small loads 2-3 times per week. Since the warranty was only for a year, Electrolux/Frigidaire had no interest in helping me. I reached out to Eastwood, who would not even return my email. Needless to say, I was responsible for the $450 to repair a high end washer. In hindsight, the purchase of appliances was a mistake. Do NOT recommend.

On July 27, 2023, I sent my earnest money, $5000, for Eastwood Homes, 5 Marengo Rd, Mauldin, South Carolina after touring the beautiful townhome on July 27, 2023. I hired a private home inspector, completed August 3, 2023, at 2:00pm. Upon receiving the report, I was taken aback by thirty-three issues that were reported. August 7, 2023, I go to work only to discover I was terminated. With this information, I sent Kellie Lamaster an email/letter explaining my situation and was informed by her: “It does not matter you lost your job; you signed the contract. Corporate does not care about the reason, only that you signed.” I was then in the position where I was forced to sign the document releasing me of the purchase, but I did not get my money back. I know I initialed paragraph 18, but this is an honest hardship. I have lost my job and cannot afford this expenditure at this time. This is a necessary decision for what could happen money wise in my future. Does corporate care? Obviously not, only their bottom line. All I ask is for my $5000 in earnest money returned, and we can all continue on.

Warranty claims department is a hustle... You are made to wait a ridiculously long time for acknowledged repairs before anything is actually resolved. I have no choice but to believe that this may be a practice (making clients wait) so that many pf the issues get swept under the rug sort of speak, and forgotten, outright ignored. Not right.

Construction of my townhome is worse than a cheap hotel. The walls are so thin I can hear my neighbor brushing their teeth. Run don't walk away from anything this company builds.

Eastwood has no responsibility to their communities. They are just looking for the sale and forget about roads opened to other communities when they should be closed. Oil damage on the roads from contractors, sidewalks busted from construction and non-community people driving they due to connecting roads to other communities where gates should be. No accountability!!

Eastwood is terrible when it comes to fixing issues. There was issues present that was not notice but they probably were aware and they refuse to fix saying it was homeowners fault when they have photos the issue was present before we moved in. They sent a company to access a floor issue submitted through warranty and he did not properly evaluate but sent a report based on Im not sure what. The representative came in with a an attitude of trying to find the issue with us. I have requested copies of all pictures and documents and they are ignoring my request. This was one small section of flooring they needed to fix and refuse to. Saying excessive moisture that they looked for under the sink and did not find and We are paying over 400,000 for a home that issues are popping up after the warranty period. Siding, caulking, flooring sinking in one of the upstairs bedroom. Eastwood made so much money in this new neighborhood. This is obsurd a company that makes millions refusing to fix an issue that probably cost a couple thousand. I will continue to pursue this issue. They are completely ignoring any emails I send. I should have looked at the reviews before building with this company. We have nasty muddy ponds left and not cleaned up In a neighborhood with houses over $500,000. Pink mud left in the house and we had to clean when we first moved in. No one year follow up or 90 day that I am aware of and I have asked for copies of the second and third walk through with no response. They don’t want to take ownership of anything after they get your money. This is a company I would not recommend to anyone. Bad customer service.

Dear Eastwood Homes, please be cognizant of the people already living here! Do not put a porter potty right by someone’s home where we now get the pleasure of coming outside and having urine smell wafting up our noses since there are several other vacant lots this can be kept it; how could you all be so inconsiderate to see this here and think it’s no big deal, but not your home so who cares, also ask workers to be more considerate and not blast music at 8am and scream the lyrics when there are homes right next door. Inconsideration and pacification when mentioned is a very unfortunate and regular thing we have experienced here at Sunset Hills - ready to move already - it’s been less than 6 months.

These are terrible builders. I had a home in the Charleston, sc area built by Eastwood. A plumbing pipe was too big to fit in the wall, so they just bowed the wall out to make it fit. There was little or no insulation. You could almost hear your neighbor next door breathe. Many, many problems that clearly told me I had bought a mess. Glad I got out before it hit rock bottom. I would NEVER buy from them again. Pathetic workmanship.

Till this day, October 7, 2021, I am still living in a nightmare. I have read the comments and honestly please do not take this the wrong way, but for those of you whose contract was cancelled-you escaped a nightmare. Of course I pray that you are able to get your money back and find a home. My nightmare started in August 2019. I was pregnant with my last son and was looking forward to bringing him to our new home once he was born. That was delayed so we stayed in a hotel for a week. When we finally closed we had to do a final walk through then. Was repeatedly told, “don’t worry everything is fine, you have your warranty, or we had an engineer come out and evaluate everything. (Lie #1, 2, and #3) Now imagine, December 31 and you just said “Happy New Year” now you hearing and seeing water dripping from your ceiling. Reported the issue. They came out and inspected and couldn’t find what was causing the issue. Then they had their plumber (subcontractor) come out. They had to dig through our foundation. While doing so, I was continually told or asked, either I put too many feminine hygiene products, baby wipes, or my children put toys down the toilet. Surprisingly, they found a plastic water bottle and concrete (a big rock) in our foundation. When asked about they found, they said baby wipes and hygiene products. (Lie #4, Lie #5) so they sent me a pic of bunched up tissue and Tom ran out of the house with the evidence. (Deception #1, 2) my insurance company was ignored (phone calls, emails, letters) for over a year and half and was basically told to take them to court. Months later, we experienced more water damage. This time, the water damage was in the laundry room. They did not properly connect the water line that connects to the washing machine. So all that time water was constantly dripping. The repairman told us to make sure that we request to have them come and replace the installation and to ensure no further water damage. They never sent anyone to assess to see if any water damage had occurred. (Deception #3) Can you imagine the water damage occurred behind the wall after doing laundry for 7-8 months? Now we are experiencing a slight lean in home on the back right side, a bowed wall that is starting to crack horizontally. You know what I was told, “the house is finally shifting and a wall is not going to be a perfect square”. SMH I have a hearth that has over a half inch gap between the floor and the hearth. I explained that the pictures are not going to show the damages because I can’t get the right angle due to them placing a trim around the hearth. I have submitted warranty request after warranty request. Only to either be denied, other companies blamed for their mishaps, lack of responsibility or accountability. Problem #1-if you purchase a home from Eastwood, you submit a warranty request online. You do not receive confirmation of submitting the request. So it’s their word against yours. I have told them they need a control in place because this is a risk that could potentially lead into an issue. Ginger receives all the warranty requests and is overworked. However, how can she say my requests have been completed and you never came to assess the damage. Then when the pandemic hit, of course we understand you have to wait or halting going in homes. But don’t say my requests are complete because either it’s lost, you didn’t feel the need to assess, or you are back logged and don’t take your buyers seriously when they have a warranty request. All of my requests are not complete. This was a home I had looked forward to passing down to my children. Now all I can think about is determining if it is even worth it to leave behind. Please when you purchase your home, before you sign on the dotted line with Eastwood Homes-make sure all repairs are done before you sign. Of course you can’t foresee concrete or a plastic water bottle in your pipes, but you can save yourself from a nightmare.

Harwood flooring coming apart in kitchen area! Too much slope on the right side of house. Tile flooring in MBath coming apart. Tree planted in front yard died!! Concrete driveway cracked all over. Did not clear lot off properly, debris piled up in back of lot. Very unhappy with Eastwood not wanting to correct these problems.

I really debated on sharing until I read the same thing that happened to us. Signed a contract, put down money, made selections and put down more money only to have them cancel our contract. We waited through all the delays and understood there would be issues due to Covid. We stuck with them even while trying to relocate family with no house started and no idea when it would start. We had our contract cancelled and offered the “right” to buy in this community when and if they start building again, of course at a higher price. How magnanimous of you, considering we had already agreed on a price and house and now I have to start all over. I understand there are costs to building but let’s be clear. If you are selling a house at $500,000 let’s not pretend it’s costing you $500,000 to build. Just like when you buy a car, there is a profit built in. I know and accept that but this is beyond greed to tell me I can buy my lot again in several months, at an even more inflated price than originally and claim it’s all due to materials. I call bs! And if you go to the community site, it says temporarily closed but gives you the option to get on their VIP list. How insulting that the buyers you already had taken money from were not considered your VIP clientele. If all of these issues are due to Covid, then maybe you should stop building and opening new communities (just look at all the communities on the website and there are several “new” ) and honor the contracts you already have. We will not be moving forward with Eastwood and the home we were going to build in SC. We will start over with a new builder, preferably someone who has a lot more integrity than Eastwood. Good luck to the rest of you. After reading these reviews, it appears you will need it.

Great house and floor plan. Horrible lot. Developer refused to meet before closing to discuss erosion issues. Ignored landscape engineers recommendations for a retaining wall and fill dirt. First plan failed within weeks of moving in. Now we are plan #2. Regraded the backyard but refused to add more sod. Playing shrub and pine straw games to help eliminate erosion. Very unprofessional. Very, very dissatisfied and disgusted with the developer and Eastwood. Many residents here also have same experience. Considering filing BBB complaint.

Our family are looking for our next home. We have visited many, and I mean a lot of homes and especially new build homes/ sales offices. We stopped by your Eastwood Homes Broadwell Trace community today in Fuquay Varina. It was around 3pm. It stated on the signs that the model was open. We thought to be nice we will stop by the sales office first to just ask and maybe pick up some brochures and ask if any lots were available to reserve. We peaked through the glass window of the office and the sales lady who saw us just waived us off.. when we tried to open the door just to ask the couple of questions we had, she quickly rushed to the door and asked if we had an appointment. We told her we did not as we were in the area and just had a couple of questions. She then told us we need an appointment first. There was just one vehicle in the carpark, which I guessed was hers and as I did not see anyone else around, asked her if she is busy with another client. She said "no, but I need to catch up on some paperwork, you need an appointment first" and shut the door in our faces.. I was stunned.. I have never experienced such a rude sales person anywhere especially not at a Realty firm. This lady and your company is better off doing admin work somewhere out of the public face. She is seriously so rude. Not friendly or helpfull at all. Lucky for us, because just after this bad experience we stopped by Lennar Homes, where we did not have an appointment but also just wanted to ask a couple of questions and pick up brochures.. and the sales lady Carrie of Lennar was more than helpful, and so friendly, even when she had customers in the office she was dealing with already, she asked us just to wait a few minutes and we were out of there in a few minutes after she answered all our questions. A difference of day and night. Way to go Lennar ! we will definitely not buy from Eastwood homes ever !!

Initially, I was ecstatic about a tour that I made with the representative Kyle. I made the appointment with Kyle McDuffie, via phone. Let’s fast forward to the day of our appointment. I’m a business owner and blocked off Saturday to handle personal business. I received a text the same day as our scheduled appointment 2-3 before the appointment that Amanda is “fully” booked, although my appointment was made prior. I was so disappointed for the lack of consideration and professionalism. I then received a text from Amanda (last name unknown) the day of our appointment that her 4:30 pm appointment had canceled. I received this notification at 4:03 pm. How would it be possible to travel nearly 2 hours to view a home within 27 minutes. I’m so disappointed with the sales representatives in the Central, Virginia area and how they’re unable to schedule appointments accordingly! Even after explaining to both representatives that I closed my business to follow through with an appointment that they stated was available and there was no sense of urgency to accompany me or an apology. Just a simple “Provide me with another date and time and we’ll reschedule you” as if this was an issue on my behalf. If I could give Eastwood no stars I would. The representatives are the initial face of contact and if they have failed to follow through with a scheduled appointment, then I’m pretty sure they’ll fail with getting contracts signed by the builder and communicating effectively and in a timely manner with the buyer and realtor.

So far Eastwood is a complete disappointment. Management refuses meeting requests. Very, very slow to respond to issues during the construction process. They don’t even deserve one star.

Eastwood homes has proven to myself and quite a few of our neighbors that they do not care about their customers. Our roof has been leaking for over 5 years. They just recently have decided to try to fix it. Now my house is sitting torn apart for over 2 weeks and they decided not to finish till the beginning of the year. Don't buy a Eastwood home If you'd like to have a quality home. There is also a class action law suit starting up against them because of roofs being installed properly and they know about the problems!!

The Eastwood homes look nice and I contracted with them to build a new home at Linkside at Timberlake in Chapin, S.C. on the 8th fairway. I was told construction would begin in about 2 weeks. Nothing going up 2 months later. I'm told the delay was due to covid and having 1 construction manager to oversee 9 new starts. An appointment was made to go over the plans with the construction manager. He was not prepared when we arrived and his building plans didn't appear to include the final changes. During the discussion, he told me I was asking to many questions and we needed to stay on point (my concerns would be addressed later). When we walked the build site, I pointed out that the markings for the concrete did not appear to be correct. He acknowledged the issue and said it would be taken care of. I visited the site a week later and noticed the correction was not made and the concrete form included things I didn't want and also did not include a second patio pad. I indicated perhaps we should void the contract. The builder said OK with him. He's building the house and someone will buy it. I came back a few days later and the second patio pad had been poured. It looked more like asphalt than concrete. I no longer had confidence in Eastwood Homes. I contacted John (Sales Manager) and we discussed the issues noted above and others. He acknowledged the issues and said changes were being made because of them (such as adding a second construction manager). However, he stated that regardless of the experience, Eastwood Homes would not give back the $8,800 deposit if I voided the contract. I walked away rather than incur further liability with a company I can't trust. If you build through Eastwood Homes, I hope you have a better experience than mine.

They don't deserve one star. They are terrible when it comes to warranty. They will find any way to get out of having someone come to look at the issue. And Ginger is no help. Quality and workmanship is terrible. Definitely don't Recommend them as a builder. Or even buy a home that was built buy them.

If you are a military veteran this not a company for you. They do not support veterans. During the middle of a pandemic, they will work with you until dollar signs get involved. They gave another person 6 months to try and close and only gave me 3 months. If it benefits them to cut you loose they will. They canceled my contract after they realized they could make an additional $60,000 instead of trying to continue to work with this Veteran. I had a company that was willing to work with me to be able to purchase the home, but Eastwood gave us unrealistic expectations to make it work. They did not want to make it work, they put in a plan that was designed to fail. It is because they saw dollar signs. After working with this company, I now believe when people say they support Veterans it is nothing more than just a nice catchphrase that people like to say.
