“Ordered fencing as website stated fast free delivery! How wrong could it be. Delivery date arrived by e.mail so arranged to be wait in, later that day another e.mail arrived , amended delivery till next day, two phone calls and assurance it was on the transport and would be with me so again waited in ! BUT no delivery yet again. No phone call to say why either. So it yet another day waiting in and having to cancel yet again the guy to put it up !! Appalling service. Will now have to try and get my money back !!”
“Item not it stock. but I wasn't informed . no one returned my calls. I had to keep on phoning for update .
Delivery was done on a Saturday no time slot given had to stay on an empty site until arrived.
And finally I've got a £20.00 bill on my phone as there number is a premium rate number so I paid to chase my order
Never ever use again”
“Advertised Easy Fit Decking kits are not kits and not easy fit. The bearers are not notched, so it's difficult to see how it can be called a kit, let alone easy fit. To return will cost you 20%. Wont be using them again and will certainly spread the word to avoid this company. Really short sighted approach to customer service.”
“I purchased the 3by3 decking with pergola, the delivery was fine . But anything else was of a less quality. 1st I intended to install it myself but the instructions were not tailored to the product (decking instructions separate from pergola one) which defeat the whole objective of the unit. Unclear and useless. I contacted them several times to get clarification but they kept referring me to the instruction on the website.
I had to pay a professional to build it. Then we found that the quality of the materials very poor : the screws get damaged quickly, so you can't un-screw anything. The brackets did not fit the wood so I disregard them altogether.
The list is long but I am sure once you read other people reviews to get the message.
Needless to say that I will not recommend them to anyone,
Have fun trying to get answers for them
Ben”
“Dont use!!! i was let down 4 times on my delivery and it cost me £460 in waisted contractors bills. customer services are a total waist of time, i think all the good revues are concocted , since my order i have only heard bad reports about E decs”
“Ordered goods ,then 3 days later was informed there was a problem with my address or card. Money had been taken off my card still .Nobody bothered to call me until today .Was told their policy is not to call customers, even though they request your phone number. Not impressed at all ,poor customer service .Why would any reputable company decide to phone you days later to inform you that your address is showing a fault .
wasted a weekend of work that could of been done. Poor ,poor service
steer clear.”
“Hollow composite decking they sell is not fit for purpose. Warped and popped out of clips within 3 months. They are selling a product made in China that has not been tested in British conditions, it soaks up water, and expands both lengthwise and widthwise until it pops the clips (or in a couple of cases, the joists). They do not want to know about my issues. Have refused to honour warranty stating that I didnt install it properly. I was one of the early adopters of this product, before they had all the fine print about installing at an extreme angle and leaving 10mm between each plank (10mm between each lengthwise plank looks ridiculous as does the angle they propose laying the decking at). Had these instructions been present at the time I had bought I would have avoided like the plague. As it is now, I have no recourse because there are now detailed instructions (although not very well signposted) on their site which weren't there originally. Many people have had issues with hollow composite decking from eDecks.
I started a group on facebook - perhaps if enough people join we can bring them to task over this with a threat to make some real noise.

if that link doesn't work search from within FaceBk for "edecks composite deck", then join the group.
Unscrupulous, money grabbing opportunists.

“I have been trying to get an issue resolved for months.
I was sent an incorrect delivery, which e-decks has acknowledged but I have not received a refund as promised. After repeated phone calls, I am at the point of giving up. I will never deal with this company again.”
“Possibly the worst company i've ever used, i've spoken to people who have have had many problems with theses before i ordered some turf and when it came it was all rot under! The staff are rude too!”
“I order fencing panels that cost £242 could gave and should have gone to b&q as it was o py £5 dearer. Had to chase delivery
Then needed another five panels so to make sure o got the same I ordered again from here at £121 that was 9th of August. I'm still waiting delivery.
There automated service is total rubbish left two message Sent emails. Spine to their sales and they still out me through to their transport. 17th August 2015 and still no panels or contact. I will never use these cowboys again”
“Ordered decking materials on 11th August and received an email on 12th August advising that delivery would be on the 15th August. On the 14th August received an email stating 'Please accept our sincere apologies for the delay. Your order has been rescheduled for delivery with an estimated delivery date of 14 August 2015.
Thank you for your order'. After checking my emails at 5pm on 14th August I attempted to phone them to clarify, but received an automated message advising that they were closed. I sent them an email (at 5.15 pm 14th August) asking when delivery would be arranged. To date, 7pm 15th August not had a reply.
At 5.35pm 14th August I received a call from a driver to advise that he would be delivering in approximately 40 minutes. At this time we were about to leave home for an arranged family function, but waited for the delivery. It arrived at 7.10 pm. Rubbish service from this company. There is no company care.”
“We ordered some reject larch decking, I contacted E Decks to double check how much extra I would need to allow for reject material. They advised 15% so to be on the safe side I added 20%.
Delivery was as promised, but as we started to unload the wood it was clear (to me) that the decking wasn't fit for purpose. We unloaded about 20% of the wood and not one plank was usable, knot holes, badly chipped surface, poor machining, looking at the remaining delivery it was clear that it wasn't worth having so we reloaded it and sent it back with the lorry. We took some pictures.
On contacting the company I was told that as it was 'reject' material 'what did I expect' the return haulage would be £150 plus a 25% restock charge. This totalled around 50% of the order cost.
I disputed the relevance of these charges as the decking wasn't decking at all but firewood at best. I asked for the money back in full.
We lodged a dispute with our debit card provider, who when we had not received a credit after 30 days recovered the money, in full, for us. Glad to see the funds back in our account as I was worried they might go bust before I saw my money.
If I had read the reviews before hand I never would have used this company.”
“Equipment delivered and was damaged… Very slow to replace…. Customer Services and transport department extremely rude when trying to resolve the problems… When discussed with a manager I was given another delivery date, my wife took a day off of work to receive the order however had a mail late in the day to say the order had been canceled due to lack of stock, thus loosing out on a days pay…
If poor service and diabolical customer care is your thing, then this company is for you otherwise I would avoid like the plague… Pay cheap, pay twice !!!!”
“I purchased their solid composite decking approx 2 months ago.
So far I've found:
-Marks very easily
- Shrinks over time
- Brittle when clipping in
- Edging cracks and crumbles
I'll probably be taking it up next year and replacing, as it's unlikely to look anything but rubbish by then.
Avoid like the plague!!!”
“Bought hollow composite decking last year, in may this year noted that 4 of the boards were splitting e-decks offered 5 to replace then after a week or so noted that now there was 8 boards splitting at least they now offered me 8 in exchange. Pretty good of them but now thinking will the other boards start to split in time has anyone out there had the same trouble with there hollow composite decking ??
Thinking of asking for different decking just wood with no Plastic.”
“I spent in excess of £3000 with this company. Due to the size of decking they recommended purchasing their bstock larch decking. Whilst being told these would have possible discolouration and knot damage . Whilst this was the case they also had splits. Despite considerable communication and complaints they are only prepaired to exchange 10 of the 60 damaged boards. Furthermore the boards that could be salvaged and have been laid are now also starting to split.”
“Before I ordered post guards phoned EDecks and confirmed they are in stock and the lead time. I was told they will be send out in around 2-3 days. 7 Days later had to chase up and found out they don't have it in stock and would be around 3 weeks before i see it.
No one tried to contacted me and informed me, especially as this is a show stopped and casing a delay in my works. Will never use them again.”
“Original Service great but…
Prior to the purchase of this decking I telephoned to confirm that more of this decking would be available to order at a later date. I was assured that there was so much it would be available 'all summer'. As storage space in my garden is limited I ordered the initial tranche of 15sqm, and now I am attempting to buy the remaining 75sqm. Disappointingly this decking is no longer available. Furthermore they do not seem to have any other smooth faced larch decking as an alternative. Whilst I am pleased for the company and the success of the product, it leaves me in a predicament. As I am finding it difficult to find a match anywhere, it now seems that I have wasted my £175 and will now need to start again with an alternative 'matched product
I have telephoned the customer support desk twice, and both times been informed that the person will call me back. This has not happened, so I can only assume that they have no further interest in my plight.
So be aware!”
“Charged £60 surcharge but promised 3 working day delivery, took well over a week, when the deck arrived was damaged, I was told to cut damaged areas out and they would refund for the waste. However I returned items and over 3 weeks later still waiting for a refund. Last week I left 4 messages on their answer phone and as of yet no one has bothered to reply. AVOID AT ALL COST”
