“It is situated in Leith, a nice area of Edinburgh with the docks. Good amenities, comfortable, good wi-fi access, very nice owner. Lots to do around there and an easy walk into central Edinburgh.”
“We had a great stay at this flat. 2 families - 4 adults, 4 young children and 1 baby. Plenty of room, nice and clean, well equipped.
Great location for walking up to the city (15 mins and very little whinging).
Ann, the owner, was really good at keeping in contact and answering any questions we had.”
“2 double bedrooms (1 small)plus sofa bed in lounge. very well equipped, clean and comfortable. morningside a very pleasant area. On street parking- no restriction (except space). Good bus service.”
“Hosts were great and fast at responding to msgs and phone calls. Flat is very nice, modern and central. We found sharing 2 bathrooms amongst 13 people a bit difficult but the bathrooms are large, clean and well maintained. Flat is probably more suited for 13 than 16, unless there were few children who can share the sofa beds in the living room.
All in all really nice flat, recommended along with the hosts.”
“The apartment has many positive features (spacious, clean, quiet, well appointed kitchen). Utilities work and are easy to control. There are a few negatives, possibly subjective for some visitors :
- walking distance to "city center" at the comfort limit.
- the close vicinity looks a little "drab".
- the building common spaces are not welcoming.
- the bathroom faucets are separate (cold/hot), more than annoying.
- the TV set is smaller than a laptop monitor ... but plenty of programs available (no "sports").”
“Easy to navigate, well organised booking and payment.
Efficient and friendly meet and greet service.
Apartment was a compact but well laid out, homely 2 bed-apartment. Well maintained and clean - like somebody actually cared. Well equipped with virtually everything you could need - although we didn't find the microwave (under the sink!) until we were packing up to leave.
Easy walking distance to all of Edinburgh's main attractions. Nearest free parking approx 1 mile away - which in Edinburgh is brilliant!”
“The flat is a good size nad was very clean and tidy.
In an attempt to be helpful in making this a perfect experience I would suggest some small things. A bit more crockery in the kitchen, newer towels in the bathroom and less furniture in the lounge. Also couldn't get the tv to work but that's probably more to do with me!”
“The flat was perfectly situated for the Tattoo and the Fringe - we walked everywhere. Wonderful view of the Castle from the back. Very clean. Compact but comfortable for five adults (including the one on the sofa bed - me). Letting company easy and pleasant to deal with. Thank you.”
“Really well placed for George Street and other venues for the Edinburgh fringe. Lovely and thoughtful touches like leaving milk and biscuits in the kitchen. Flexible about collection of keys which was a great help. Might have helped to know there was a nursery next door as frequently awoken in the week by noisy toddlers in the morning, but very peaceful and quiet at night.”
“Lovely friendly welcome. Nice clean apartment with a very well equipped kitchen and fantastic shower. Twenty minute walk to the centre, but plenty of buses so a very convenient location. Only slight quibbles were: could have done with a bigger table, another chair in bedroom and duvets fell off, but overall, we had a very pleasant stay.”
“Social areas excellent, the second double room not really a double. You need to sort the ventilation in the bathrooms, this was not working. Everyone had a lovely ho.iday”
“Initial impressions were that the flat was a little tired and shabby. However it was well equiped, clean and comfortable but if more than 2 adults stay here it will be a squash. The loo takes a very long time to refill between flushes. The location is great as the street is quiet and everywhere is within easy walking distance. We would stay here again for this very reason. It was great to have internet access. The info folder is a bit messy and we missed the timings for putting out the rubbish may be a laminated sheet with key info could be left on the kitchen table.
All in all we enjoyed our stay and would recommend Edinburgh Flats.”
“The apartment was clean and spacious with useful secure off-street parking for one car. If planning a stay you might like to know that the fourth bedroom is an internal room without windows. Two good clean bathrooms, both with an electric shower. Excellent local amenities and frequent bus services to town. It's a good mile to the Pleasance etc but we knew this and like walking! Owner was very helpful regarding provision of more door keys. We had a very enjoyable week.”
“The flat is well placed for getting into Town or out to explore further afield.short walk for good Pubs & eating restaurants.Clean & well kept,my only critisism is there was no toilet paper provided. We have stayed in many self catering apartments & this has always been there.”
“Very comfortable house. Large lounge with 32" LCD TV. Main double bedroom with TV good size, other bedrooms small but adequate.Sunny kitchen with french doors opening onto terrace and steps down to back garden overlooking river. 40 mins walk to Princes Street or bus routes 12,26 & 31 pass nearby.”
“Don't be deceived by the outside appearance of 9 Grindlay Street or the dark worn stone steps as you walk up to the third floor flat 6. Inside the flat is attractively decorated and the whole flat is very comfortable. The views of the back of the castle from the two bedrooms are amazing. We enjoyed looking at the castle fireworks display at 10.30pm during the Tattoo. It's handy having an extra toilet in the flat as well as the bathroom. We had a lovely holiday and I would stay there again without hesitation.”
“Pros: Very modern, 9th floor flat with superb views. All mod cons esp the Freeview HD TV. Spacious and secure.
Handy for the no 35 bus from the airport (only £1.40 fare)
Cons: No air conditioning and the blinds are not blackout types in the bedrooms- wouldn't fancy a summer sleeps here!
The wifi wasn't working for most of our stay which a nuisance ( it was a prerequiste of our booking)”
“When seeking an apartment you can feel at home in with a well-equipped kitchen and a good-quality bed (which is as far as we are concerned no luxury as my husband is a back pain sufferer), and a good location both for exploring the city (and beyond) and to do some shopping (which is essential when staying in a self-catering flat) ... Seek no more, you have just found it! And its owners will do their utmost to make your stay a comfortable one ... That is what we found out as well !”
