Worst company t deal with. I purchased hedge trimmers and blowers and was able to take advantage of 2 free batteries under their promo. This was Oct 2024. Still no free batteries. Guess they hope their customers forgert to chase them down

Very poor experience with gas trimmers - my first FS90 wasn't too bad as it did nearly 10 years of work (including six years used on 10-20 lawns, mostly tiny) before giving up. No huge complaint, but still mildly disappointing given its price point. I received a very lightly used one in exchange for some work and it ran great for less than two years - after that, it would run for about 10 minutes and then bog down/die after that. It's at a mechanic to see if anything can be done. Of course, I couldn't fully know how the previous owner used it, although they supposedly only used the pre-mixed Stihl fuel/oil in the can. During 'Stihl days' I decided to give the product one more chance and purchased an FS91. It has been awful. It usually runs fine until it doesn't.... it will randomly bog down and stall out when the trigger is pulled. It has been brought back three times to the dealer who, each time, assures me that 'it's all good, we did some fine tuning but there's nothing wrong with it', only to have the same thing happen. Note that I religiously mix anywhere from 45-50:1. Forget Stihl customer service as it seemingly does not exist. No number to call and my email wasn't answered. I have also owned two Stihl blowers with ho-hum results (carb issues), and a Stihl chainsaw with low hours that either starts ok or tries to rip my arm off when starting it. In my opinion, Stihl commands a premium price for an inferior product. Never again for me, and I am sharing my honest experiences with others.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We're truly sorry to hear about the issues you've faced with multiple products, as this is not the experience we aim to deliver. While it's great to know your FS90 gave you nearly 10 years of service, it's disappointing that your newer FS91 and other tools have not met your expectations. We understand how frustrating it must be to deal with recurring issues despite multiple service visits, and we regret the difficulty you've had in reaching customer service. We'll share your feedback internally to help improve our processes. Please feel free to reach out again, and we'll do our best to assist you. Your satisfaction is important to us, and we're committed to addressing your concerns. https://support.stihl.com/en-CA/contact-form/

Shocking on their own lack of product knowledge when it comes to pressure washers. There was more confusion over their web page not showing Canadian measures and prices, and conflicting information within the same product description. Don't return general emails, and don't have a customer phone number to call. Confusing return process, retailer sends you to Stihl who then sends you back to retailer, I felt like a tennis ball, where's the accountability? Missing parts on product to then be told it's actually the manual that's outdated. Wow so disappointing, but generally products themselves are great.

I recently ordered a cordless leaf blower online. Before I ordered I reviewed the return policy which stated I could return to a dealer. When I received the product, it was not very powerful so I went to my local dealer, Accurate Lawn and Garden, to return it. They told us they could not accept an online order. Then they called Stihl and told us we could not return it as we had tried it out. How else is someone supposed to see if it is suitable? We ended up returning it to another local dealer who also didn’t know how to process the return but called and got instructions. We did not however receive anything as proof that we had returned it to the dealer. Just their word that we could get our refund. We got our refund but only after I called Stihl over 2 weeks later to see where the refund was. Overall not impressed with the quality of product but definitely not impressed with the Stihl dealers and the apparent lack of training on how to process a return.

Your tools used to be great now they break a year later, over and over again we're replacing tools. Outsourcing your product production in China is clearly showing. Any of the tools we had from before 2006 are still running. Just another garbage tool to throw in the trash

I purchased the weed eater and only used it twice before it stopped working. Motor won't work. Head won't spin. I have a gas Stihl weedeater that has been pretty good over the years and a small chainsaw. I also recently purchased a blower that works very well. I like Stihl products and under normal circumstances would have recommended it to my friends. But I'm not too impressed with how short lived this most recent weed eater is, especially for the hefty price I paid. I had planned on buying the battery operated lawn mower but I'm not sure I would purchase another Stihl product now.

Can not rate at this time because I have still not received the free promotional offer for buying 2 stihl products. I can rate the products as good but still waiting. Any info about why I have not received the promotional free hedge trimmer would be great.

Stihl has no customer service in Toronto. There is no number to call and no dealers stock parts or take responsibility for warranty problems. I just bought a pressure washer and found it is missing the correct O ring (a 10 cent item) on one end of the pressure hose so it leaks. Nobody can solve this simple problem!! It’s another example of rubbish Chinese quality control

STIHL BGE 71 Most UNusable tool ever made. Need 3 hands to unlock every single pieces to switch from blower to vaccum with a special pin to use on top of this. Security is a good thing, but when you go too far in your design, you make the tools unusable. Used 3 times, throw it in the shed 3 times and bought a Craftman.

I bought the MS250 to replace my Husqvarna, which I had for almost 30 years. I found the MS250 easy to start in the beginning but, after a few uses it was becoming harder and harder to start until a month in it wouldn’t start. I took it back to the dealer and they replaced the spark plug and said the original Bosch plug was garbage. It started and ran for the first hour (with fuel fill ups of course) and after sitting for about an hour (lunch time) it wouldn’t start….again. I repeatedly tried and tried but, it wasn’t starting So, I emailed Stihl with my issues, they have not replied The dealer isn’t helpful at all and mocked me when I went in There is definitely something wrong with this unit and I will have to take it to another dealer for repairs and pay out of pocket to fix a one month old saw that is still under warranty In my opinion Stihl doesn’t stand behind their products and isn’t worth the cost and aggravation I miss my Husqvarna

Garbage! After about 150 hours of light use my “brush cutter” is junk. Stihl is priced for quality but built like junk. Save yourself some money and get a HD brand cutter.

Hi Pete We are sorry to hear about your experience. Please take your product to your preferred authorized STIHL dealer for evaluation and repair. If it can be determined that the failure and/or damage to the product was the result of a manufacturing defect in materials or workmanship, the product was correctly registered and is still covered by the STIHL Canada limited warranty, it will be repaired at no cost.

When you complain that part cost more than unit they will just block you. I have ask questions on facebook only to be blocked right away! Electric Stihl products are unfixable junk! Every part on rma 510 mower exceeds the price of mower and Stihl knows this but his it. Useless $1000 brick is what you'll get!

I have had many issues with this particular head. It is in no way the same quality that the original head was for my FS40. The original head some times jammed but rarely. This replacement head jams every time I use it. At least 3-4 times on a single yard. Truly an inferior design compared to the original. I took it in for server within the first month, they respooled it it worked for about 1 yard till it jammed and needed a manual feed. I mess the old head.

They are advertising the FS38 grass trimmer on their Canada website for $179.99. I clicked to find a dealer in Halburton. When I went there to but it the would not sell for less than $199.99. This is blatant false advertising.

I would never give this company my business again. It was my first time purchasing a product from this company and Mike and Shawn are two most disrespectful people I ever encountered. Unbelievable! Don’t give this place your business again. This company don’t care about their customers

Bought a battery powered line trimmer for Mother’s Day and there’s no fu…ing battery included! I own two Stihl chain saws, two gas powered trimmers. my mother owns a gas line trimmer too) I also a backpack blower, hand held blower and a 420 quick cut saw super disappointing as buying another Stihl was a no brainer. When I purchased there was zero indication that battery was separate WTF.
