Hi there, I'm sorry you're experiencing the toughness of the current job market. The reasons why some people are getting their foot in the door and why others aren't, are so vastly complex that we can't be certain about all the factors that influence this. In situations with too many applicants for a job, recruiters might stop looking at additional resumes once they've found enough qualified candidates for their initial short list, leading to the rejection of all of the rest. Many job listings nowadays attract more than 1000 applicants, so this is becoming more and more common.
