“Unable to retrieve my resume to apply to jobs”

“+ Nice and easy to use + Good overview for different CVs + Helps a lot to align the CV for the job description to have better result ----------------------------- - Export only in pdf and txt (many ATS can not parse the exported pdf correctly) - Multiple-bullet points can not be selected and deleted - No Core Competencies section to add (it has to be mocked) - TXT export has bugs (name in capital, ongoing instead of present etc.) - Standard fonts are not available: Arial, Calibri, TimesNewRoman (many ATS can not parse special fonts correctly) - Finaly, the bugs above i have found could not report in a bug tracking system, only via e-mail. (Therefore no bug tracking is available for customers)”

Thank you so much for taking the time to post a detailed review! It is a common myth that ATS systems cannot parse PDF files. Yes, if you upload a scanned image of your printed resume some ATS systems might struggle with optical character recognition. This is why we have optimised our PDF export tool so all of the texts are output as text fields and are fully selectable and searcheable. This makes our PDFs readable and easily parseable by ATS systems. A lot of these ATS systems have also started implementing additional parsing steps using AI which makes it even easier for our files to be processed. We are constantly working to improve the user experience with the bullet points in our editor. Since each of them is essentially its own input field, that we run analyses and ATS checks against, at this point we cannot offer a full Word-like editing experience. There are also upsides to this structure, as our templates prevent formatting issues that are a common complaint when users work in non-structured all purpose editors like Word. There isn't one clear cut approach to the "Core Competencies" types of sections. In our resume editor, there are two types of sections that can be utilised for this content: Strengths, and Industry Expertise. Each can be easily renamed to fit your needs, or you can use a Custom section if you need even more control or fields. Thank you for mentioning the TXT export inconsistencies – we'll report this to the Development team. Regarding fonts, we offer close "cousins" to the most popular fonts. ATS systems are fully capable of parsing the text, and often actually don't care about the font, as they parse the structure of the PDF which has content in plain text form – they don't even need to use OCR if the text is already there. Fonts are used for rendering only in this case. We do not have a bug tracking system accessible for users. Very few software providers actually have such systems. The Support team logs those internally and then the product team prioritises them for the developers. This ensures less time spent by the development team trying to gather user information – because the Support team is there with the users, sees the issues in context, and can describe them in more technical terms that is relevant to the actual implementation and use case. This is the approach most software companies use. We are very grateful to have such engaged users who are invested in our product's quality. “I really liked the CV designs — they stand out and feel quite different from most other CV writer websites. The AI auto-write feature is another strong highlight, and the ability to rearrange sections freely gives you great control to structure your CV exactly how you want. One limitation, however, is the lack of a Word (.docx) export option. It feels like this may be a deliberate strategy to encourage users to return to the platform and pay again for updates. While understandable from a business perspective, offering a Word export would significantly improve flexibility and long-term value for users.”

“- lacking a bit of personalization (would like to add coma in the soft skill but it automaticly creates a new chip) - would love to be able to translate a CV. i need my CV in English and French. I'm changing the language of the entire Enhancv when I need to change but then, categories' titles change too...”

“The tool is useful, I believe my CV is really much better now. However here are some things I am not satisfied about: -Job titles can not be changed to bold -Did not suggested optimization to make it board ready, such as combining experiences (chat gpt did) -can not add flag icons to languages”

“Overall experience: 6/10. I faced issues while downloading my resume. In several instances, the resume file name was either truncated or displayed an older name I had previously used. Product suggestions: It would be helpful to introduce an agent-based AI flow where users can store their complete work experience, skills, and project details. When a job description or job link is provided, the AI should automatically tailor the resume by highlighting only relevant skills, tools, and projects, and removing unrelated ones based on the specific role and requirements. Since each company uses different tools and technologies, this customization would greatly improve accuracy and relevance. Additionally, after providing a job description or link, the product currently displays a list of extracted keywords, but there is no AI option to automatically add or integrate these keywords into the resume. Enabling this feature would reduce manual effort and improve overall usability.”

“The EnhanCV is a great place to create nice and effective CV. I was the member of your portal in the past, but after getting the job, I stopped the subscription, because -you may accept it- it is not cheap just to keep it on pause. Unfortunately when I restarted my subscription now, it turned out you lost my original CV I spent a lot of hours to create, so now I have to start it from zero to form and shape my CV. also not possible to import my previous CV to continue it. I did not have time for this now. So that's why the Rank 3, otherwise it could be 5.”

“The Word parser which extracts the key words from the resume should improve a lot. I see rubbish words which are not key words and sometimes I see that even when the resume is in german I see the keywords in english (even after I change the language settings of the website to german)”

“Why you are not allowing the formatted resumes in word documents? We are paying to get a resume built up and we should be able to download it in word document as well for better editing and using it. I also find it bit wierd that the next job I am applying, it is not keeping my photo from the previous resume build up and keeping the rest of the format same!”
