Tried to move a car from 1 branch to another , filled out online form like i was asked to do, paid £200. Car was reserved for 48 hours but no one picked up the order so car was released and is back on website for sale. Called both branches involved each blamed the other. Hopeless. I will go elsewhere

WORSE CAR DEALERSHIP EVER!! I had my family members tell me about this company being scammers, they experienced this first hand with them. However I left all their reviews behind and walked into a deal with this company, believing in giving it a second chance. I walked into the dealership and they build a picture of pure bliss. This is what Evan Halshaw Ford Grantham did. They promised and guided me to a so called perfect car. An Audi Q7. They sold me a two year warrently which was promised to cover the cost of the car if anything was to happen to it. Which sounds promising right? When I got the car after a week I decided to take it down for a car wash. As I came out of the car after the wash was done I saw all 4 alloys wheels had lost a considerable amount of paint. This was very surprising as it’s been only a week . So I called the company as I had warranty. This is when the troubles began. The company were not compliant at all. They were not accepting responsibility. However after much discussions finally Andrew the sales manager had accepted that they used a cheap quality paint to the alloys hence why it was coming off. After a long wait I was offered a £250 sum of money and was told to repaint the alloys ... (which was never going to be enough for an Audi Q7). However i wasnt left with much choice ... it was either take the money or sort it out ourselves. So I took the money. After few weeks I decided to take my car down to the Audi dealership for a major service. Shockingly they have come back to me with a video of a MAJOR OIL LEAK from the ENGINE!! Which will cost over £5k to repair and it could be only fixed in an Audi dealership. So I contacted the company which is Evan Halshaw who I bought the car from to tell them this is the report I have from the Audi dealership. After my initial call with this issue suddenly my phone calls were being dodged or being passed on from one department to another without any help or service . This was to waste my time and no solution be found. I realised now why they had done this... it was because the period of returning my car was near enough ending and they didn’t want me to return it back so wasting them days by playing this game. After many weeks of cat and mouse I finally was able to speak to Andrew. He agreed for me to bring the car down to the dealership which was 80 miles away from my house . I agreed and dropped my car off to them and after 4 days I was told they can’t find no oil leaks and so I should pick the car back up. However I had a gut feeling that they did not really do a proper inspection so I again booked my car into an Audi dealership to get it rechecked and paid the inspection fees myself. Not to my surprise I was right. There was an oil leak still and I was told by Audi that this will eventually ruin my engine. I don’t understand why Evan Halshaw couldn’t find the fault. Then after seeing the Audi dealership report the second time they agreed for me to take my car down to their dealership (80 miles away) again and they would use their own local Audi dealership and will repair my car in a few days and return it back to me. However again after 5 days they contacted me to say that this repair is beyond their budget and they cannot repair it for me . I find this pure evil as they took my money and signed me up to a failed car . My recommendation is never ever use these scamming rubbish company . You will save yourselves the headache and money loss.

DO NOT BUY FROM EVANS HALSHAW. I bought a car on the 19th of July this year and emailed them the evening I picked it up about 12 faults/issues the car had that needed fixing, one of which was a knocking coming from the gearbox. Up to this day, that car has been to Evan's Halshaw a total of 8 (yes, EIGHT) times, 2 of which times they had it for over a month (they have had the car more than me during my ownership) and it STILL has 5 of the same issues I highlighted on the night of my purchase.. So I came to my final straw when I picked up my vehicle on the 6/12/19 for the 7th time, after being ASSURED that the issues were all resolved, and the knocking was still there along with 4 other issues the car has had since day 1. So I've asked to reject/return my car and either be refunded or exchange this car with something else of similar value. When I brought this to the attention of management I was told, if I chose to go down that route, there would be 'costs to me' and that I have no grounds to reject the vehicle. I have been BEYOND patient with all the staff after their countless lies and failures. I even gave the manager the option to refurb my gearbox and fix the other issues (one of which was a dent in the boot lid that happened whilst the car was IN THEIR CARE) and I would take it back and see out my finance agreement. He said he wasnt willing to do this so I now have to persue court action to reject the vehicle under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. All in all, a horrible experience from start to finish and I would reccomend you look elsewhere for your new or used cars. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Quick to take your money but don't give a damn when you have a problem.

I have delayed writing a review for several weeks to give you a chance to contact me, but shame on you Evans Halshaw Chester. I paid £200 to RESERVE a car, viewed it, confirmed £200 acted as deposit and agreed collection day, which you extended (because you couldn’t provide things that had been promised, basics; like its service history). Outrageously I’m EMAILED late afternoon the day before collection day to advise you’ve mistakenly sold the car to someone else! Worse was to follow; so many broken promises made by the infuriating (that’s as polite as I can be) ‘Sales Leader’ to put things right. I made a complaint, all documented and following your guidelines, to be promised umpteen times that ‘Martin Marsh the Dealer Principle ‘would call me. Nobody has had the courtesy to call me. I am so glad I didn’t buy a car from you, if you think this is an acceptable way for a company to conduct their business, I feel so sorry for anyone who has an issue with a car they actually had the misfortune to purchase from you. An apology, made with some sincerity and by someone in authority would have gone a long way, as it is, I’m left assuming you haven’t bothered to look into, or even read my complaint. I guess one thing that Josh the Sales Leader got right was when he told me if I made a complaint, his response was something along the lines of: They’ll come to me, I’ll say it was a mistake and that will be it. And incidentally, if you’re a potential customer, you may be interested to know that Evans Halshaw does not subscribe to The Motor Ombudsman’s code of practice and is therefore not accredited by them.

Cramlington - sales superb, customer service team caring, technicians and service manager a disaster. After 3 cars in 6 years, why don't i learn. If you buy a car get it serviced elsewhere. To add to the catalogue of disasters this us the second time they've lost my manuals/service books. Ist time after agreeing to replace they found them a couple weeks later. This time after it was in for a recall they suggest its my fault coz i didn't tell them within 24hours and possibly took them out myself??? -really - who checks until they need them?? the service manager added insult to injury by say they deal with the books differently on different cars - the last one was a Mokka so presumably they only loose these books and not Crosslands- really ??? Ive told him to re-think his argument. Needless to say i have to purchase new books. AVOID

Where do I start worest mistake of my life getting a car for these I was miss sold a car with fraudulent advertisement my car was claimed to of been threw a certified check and a 120 point AA check however as the months of nightmare problems started I was notified that that mains dealer that had stocked the car when I purchased it from citereon, mainsfiled. Had failed to do the checks on the car yet listed they had witch I have been told me self by one of staff first problem was the scratches all over my car front bumper and lights as mainsfiled had rushed the tints off that it was photographed in and damaged numerous parts of the car in rush to get it to me as it was only in there owner ship for a day before I purchased it. Then my problem got worse I went on holiday came home and insured the car a week after the purchase I must of driven off my road and round the corner the engine light came on I was messed about trying to book in due to criterion closing down days after I purchased it after being messaged aboht I got my car in to ford Evans Halshaw where they attempted a quick fix with a mapping sensor car was still the same on the drive home I then again had to go out my own way and time to arrange a specialist witch I took it to seat lookers Stockport my car was then out of my posession for 3 weeks seat lookers had come across that the engine in the car wasn’t evan the original engine and under further analysis that a thew parts of the car was unplugged and bodged he then told me that there was a lot of things on the car that he didn’t understand why was like that and that the car value I was paying was more than double the valuation price of the vehicle so he billed them 900 pound for minor work on the car putting stuff back together that was unplugged gave me the car back for 3 days cause I had to go and pay the money out of my own pocket due to Evanshalshaw not paying the money straight away there was multiple complications and excuses everyday to why they hadn’t payed it. The car was still not fixed if not worse because now the car was how it should be all the parts that was left unplugged had now flagged up a problem on the car along with the car still being broke it was evan worse I then complained to yous that the car that was sold broken to me was still broken after 2 garages then I take it back to seat they quote nearly £4000 for the repairs but you left my car there for 3 weeks in seats garage and then moved it to volksmaster who is a specialist not a seat dealership because you didn’t want to pay the amount for the work I was then told that all the worked that seat quoted was carried out on the car for half the price witch I wasn’t happy that my car was moved from seat in the first place but after 2 months of battling taking days off working running around dropping my car off ringing him and her everyday I got the work done by volksmaster nearly 4 months past the date I first reported my car was misfiring loosing top end power and all sorts of electrical problems I get the car back and it is still broken to this day nearly 6months down the line and I’m still paying for a car that I haven’t had in my Possession For months and still broken and after all this stress I have now got the service manager on the phone to me asking for money for a diagnostics witch left me speechless a car that has been fraudulently sold and in 3 different garages and still not been fixed This all comes down to mainsfiled failing to prepare the car and then listing it as certified witch is illegal I am now left over paying for a broken car and then left in a position where I now will have to take it into my hands and fix it my self if they had been professional and sent it straight to a seat dealer I would of had the car fixed and back within days yet due to the Lack of cooperation and help I am left in a position where I can only hand the car back it is just upsetting and disappointing from a company. Last thing is my car only had 4 months mot and I took it for it’s mot last week and it couldn’t evan pass that cause of headlight alienment and height witch was quoted on the car that it was all checked and certified by the AA with was again another lie

I WOULD NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY. Bought a car from the companies kilmarnock branch and was promised a full service history and the remainder of the manufacturer's warranty ( 1 year ) Got car home and discovered that there was NO FULL SERVICE HISTORY AND THEREFORE NO MANUFACTURER WARRANTY. worse was to come as I inspected the MOT and found that the cars current mileage of 42,665 (27.11.19) was listed as 62,133 during an MOT on 25.10.16. I contacted their extremely unhelpful staff who refused to help in any way. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE.

The sheer level of incompetence on display from the car store in York is actually staggering. After a 5 hour conversation we needed to buy my car.... cash. The transaction was still handled so incompetent that I am now potentially 20k+ in debt, including fines and not to mention my first ever legal charge brought against me, after customs took my car because not only was I not given a V5 cert when I bought the car, which I'm pretty sure it's highly illegal, but have been informed for the better part of a year that it is not their problem and there is nothing they can do about it. In a follow up display of pure incompetence that rivaled the first. I was told by 1 employee he could just order the cert to the store and it would be there in 5 working days, I called back and was informed it was never ordered. Then followed up by the manager who guaranteed I would be updated at every step and he would handle it personally, informing me when I rang, because he didn't answer yet another call or email, that he doesn't know where it is, it might be there. I am now forced to sue to recover my losses because one of their employees could not fill in a form after already illegally selling me a car. I can not stress strongly enough how much you are gambling handing thousands to people who clearly understand their business in such a minimal capacity.

My son has twice been scammed by this company. He saw a Vauxhall Astra advertised at what he thought was a very good price. When he went to view the car he liked it and said he'd buy it. He was then told that the price was wrong and that it was £2,000 more than it was advertised. Two weeks later, he saw another one advertised at a very competitive price. He telephoned the branch and specifically asked if it was mispriced. He was told, no, that was the correct price. He then put a £200 deposit on the vehicle and rang me to give me the good news. I suggested that he get documentary proof of the deposit paid and the remainder due. When he emailed them to ask for this they told him that the vehicle had been mispriced and that it was actually £2,000 more than advertised. Sound familiar? Avoid these crooks. And now he has trouble getting his deposit back.

***DO NOT BUY FROM CON ARTISTS** To whom it may concern, I bought an Audi A3 1.4tfsi in November 2018. Registration GJ14 *** The day I collected the car I was told the tax was £140 however it was advertised £0 (I have photos to prove this on the car). The car had some damage to the front and a little to the back I asked for the damage to be sorted before I picked the car up. It was dark when I collected the car so couldn't see the repair job. Basically someone had put the wrong coloured paint on the bumper of the car with their finger and it was still wet. The car was advertised as moonlight blue when in fact it is scuba blue. Now since I have owned the car many things have gone wrong. The turbo actuator went a week after owning the car. Replaced by evens halshaw who did not provide me with the paperwork to prove this had been done or a courtesy car and I lost money for not working that day as I could not get into work. Then I found out evens halshaw had not given me the details for the warranty company or made me aware that I had to tell the warranty company of me putting a private reg on my car so I was told the warranty may be invalid!!! 1. I had no details and I thought the warranty was through evens halshaw and was not told otherwise 2. How would I have any idea that I had to change the reg through the warranty company. I rang the warranty company to change this over they were very good and sorted it however told me evens halshaw worked on my car and put the work under the old reg and had not alerted them that I had a private reg on the car. Now more recently the waterpump went on the car I had this replaced under warranty but my car had been leaking coolant for weeks I knew there was a problem with the car and refused to take it to evens halshaw as the people in there are unbelievably rude and could not care less about their customers or their problems. I then found out the timing belt was over due a change so theres another £350 gone, I understand cars need timing belts however it would of been nice to know it was due. More recently I have the service light on and have noticed after being told by staff the car had full service history their is actually no service book. I rang my local evens halshaw tonight to ask but they cant see any service history on the computer and advised me to ring audi so I rang audi who said that evens halshaw haven't actually transferred my details over to say I own the car but have told me there is no service history. So I now have to drive to my closest audi with my log book and ID to tell them the car is mine. I also asked the salesman before buying the car was it a rental/hire car as a friend had said a lot of the registrations start with the letters GJ he blaintantly lied to me on the spot and said no it was not a previous rental car. Audi can see the previous owners and I dont think Europe car is a persons name? Please inform me if you think differently. I will be going to the motor ombedsmen about all of the issues I have had with evens halshaw. I was lied to, treat like i didn't mean anything as a customer, and took advantage off and it felt like it was because i was a young woman you thought you could get away with it. This car has been nothing but trouble and if I knew it was a previous rental car I definitely would not of even considered buying the car. You knew that this car had problems and was previously owned by a rental company yet when asked the question I got told a solid no. I have no service book for the car and no service history. A full audi service is £360. I will be contacting the obedsmen today about all of these problems I have had with your poor excuse for a company. I was excited to pick up my first fairly new car as all I'd had was old bangers. You have completely ruined the new car day experience and the likelihood of me recommending you to anyone is none Nothing but rude staff who wont accept any responsibility for the lies. I am appalled at Evens Halshaw and will be posting this as a review on trustpilot etc. I no longer want the car knowing who has now owned it. Feel free to call me to discuss anything further however the £140 tax that was meant to be free I am very angry about and the service that's now going to cost nearly £400 because people lied to me its absolute madness. Also having to get full checks on the car to find any other problems. Chances are gear box, turbo, clutch will all go soon and I'll be left with no car as I've forked out over £11,000 on a car based on lies. Please respond ASAP

I recently bought a used car from them at their Portsmouth branch. I was very dissatisfied by their salesperson Peter. More than the car, he was promoting the financial options and the add ons to buy. Rather than showing us the car inside out and sharing all the relevant paper work, he was keen to persuade us to buy through finance and take extended warranty etc. He might be wanting to help, but he seemed too pushy! Also, when we said we would like to take our time, make up our mind, see a few more cars and come back, he got agitated and then tried to put down all the other car dealers and cars we had shortlisted. We really liked the car and that is the only reason we went back there to buy it, my husband had almost made up his mind not to buy thanks to Peter. I am just hoping we have made the right decision and have a stress-free journey with this car,

Lincoln store. From the 1st telephone call to the last handshake we were made to feel as if nothing was to much trouble. Callum the salesman and Lewis the manager were professional and friendly. No pressure sales, even on the add ons, would recommend to anyone.

I sold a car to Evans Halshaw Cramlington Vauxhall, a complete mess from start to finish. On visiting the dealership there were several staff wandering around being “busy” but no one seemed willing to attend to me. Having eventually initiated the sale, I had to return to the dealership a few days later because they hadn’t completed the paperwork properly. They then insisted I return a third time because of their errors and claimed I couldn’t be paid until I did so. After two weeks in which they had my car AND my money I threatened court action to force them to pay. Miraculously, the next day the money was transferred. A complete shambles.

worst customer service i've ever seen. booked to see 'Gareth' at the shiremoor branch at 5:30 and spoke about the car we wanted to see and part ex the day before (in detail). On arriving he had no clue who we were, though we were after a landrover.. no 'a q3' I said, he proceeded to bring the wrong car and model out. eventually, we got to see the q3 then he vanished for 25 mins talking to other people and staff completely ignoring us. the manager came out and said he would give us 5 more minutes to look at car (REALLY!!) and didnt come back for another 15 mins. When gareth eventually came back and sat on his laptop didnt have a clue on the car we wanted to part ex, even though he spent 10 minutes on the phone the day before taking down details. Then he vanished to see the car (30 seconds away in the car park) spent 5 mins looking at the car then vanished for another 30 minutes.. then came back and proceeded to try and sell us the warranties for another 15 mins when we specifically said we didnt want them before hand and at the time. .. no apology for messing us around. An absolute shambles when it comes to customer service, and has shown us what a shambolic company this is. In the end we left. for a supposed 5:30 appointment we ended up leaving near on 90 minutes later and didnt even get a test drive. A company I will not be going near again for any car. UPDATE: ITS NOW 2 WEEKS LATER AND NO REFUND OF THE £200 WE PAID. STACEY TOLD US WE HAD TO RAISE WHAT THEY CALL A 'CONCERN' TO GET OUR REFUND BACK FOR VIEWING THE CAR. STILL NO REFUND AND IT'S NOW THE 10TH OF JULY (2 WEEKS LATER). WHY SHOULD I HAVE TO PESTER THIS SHODDY COMPANY TO GET MY MONEY BACK THAT I WAS FORCED TO PAY TO VIEW A CAR????? AN ABSOLUTE DISGRACE FROM THESE CON MERCHANTS
