“After paying the £14.99 fee to be introduced to a tutor there was no replies from the tutor or the company when I complained. Might be a one off but not great customer service”

“I was really impressed by the service I received. Within 24 hours of me signing up to First Tutors I received many emails from local tutor for my chosen subject. Can't think of anything I would like to see improved, it works perfect!”

“The tutor listened attentively to where my child requires assistance. She advised on an initial plan going forward. She also took some time to revise some work, work through some areas and left some homework. The session went well.”

“Found a perfect Tutor, many thanks!! Just an update about my Tutor!! After 7 lessons, I am enjoying every moment of my lessons. However, I must say that without putting your own effort into a new learning subject, you will never achieve progress in just 1 hour a week. I CANNOT EMPHASISE THAT ENOUGH!! I take my homework seriously, and listen to Spanish TV and radio, and albeit fast spoken, at least I can pick up much pronunciation as recommended by Eva. Pronunciation is so relevant. My progress has been amazing and I feel welcome with Eva's approach to teach me. If I make an error, Eva is quick to correct me, without making me feel inadequate as a student, so I do not feel embarrassed. I am a mature student, it is never too late to learn!! During my lessons at school, it was so much different!! No more insults for errors. Thanks First Tutors, but even more, Gracias Eva!!”

“Straightforward to use and brought up suitable tutors with enough information to make a judgment. Some difficulty paying the finding fee as the site had an extra security layer for credit cards which I couldn't seem to get through. However the site responded quickly and I was able to pay by bank transfer- you can't 'release' the details of the tutor to make a firm booking until this has been done so was good was sorted it quickly.”

“Found a fantastic tutor, we are lucky. Not all replied though hence four stars, would have been nice if they acknowledged our interest or stated they were too busy, not active. But on the up side the ones who did reply were fantastic, spoilt for choice.”

“The process was very simple and I was quickly able to identify a few potential tutors to help my son with his sociology A'Level. The information given in the profiles gave me a good idea of the tutors' experience, and I found the testimonials by other clients very helpful in identifying the right tutor for our needs. It was reassuring to see that references had been checked by First Tutors. The tutor responded very quickly, and within a couple of days she was working with my son. In just the first two sessions my son has already benefitted from the tutor's expertise, coaching skills and knowledge of the exam board requirements.”
