extremely professional, knowledgeable, and freindly, has a natural ability to get children to want to work/participate and enjoy lessons. his overall knowledge of academic schooling and indeed depths of understanding individual childrens needs is exceptional. hoping to keep lessons ongoing. cant give enough praise, can see improvement from first lesson. very freindly, happy character, that rubs off on children.

This was my first time using the site. There were a few minor IT glitches, but otherwise, it was very easy to use and an effective tool to find quality tutors.

Site looks a little bit out dated but works very well. Might improve a little bit the explanation on how the fee is calculated based on the tutor hourly fee.

Kirk was very good at putting my daughter at ease as she was very nervous and embarrassed about how bad her maths was. He was realistic about saying there is a lot of work to do but my daughter came out of the session feeling positive and motivated to do well. She is looking forward to the next session.

First Tutors seem very concerned with checking security of tutors and offer good advice on this too as a back up (e.g. where to meet the first time). There is good information on all the tutors including their background, qualifications and experience, plus photos of them. This means without the trouble or awkwardness of contacting tutors yourself you can get a good idea of what you would be getting, when it would be available and how much it would cost before you make any decision. Also it is very much a two-way thing, so first you request the tuition you are looking for, tutors then reply with offers to take it on, you choose a potential tutor from those who have replied, and then finally, after you have made the offer, (sometimes giving more information about the potential pupil or work required to be covered if they request it), the tutor will decide whether to accept your job or not. This means both sides get multiple chances to find out if they are suitable for each other and you make sure you are going for the best option. I like the way First Tutors tell you not only the published feedback of each tutors but also the number of reviews which are not published (which, as they say, will generally be negative reviews) A little while after you have agreed a tutor, First Tutors check back that there have been no problems and that contact has been made and things set up to your satisfaction. The fees they charge for the introduction aren't a lot and I think well worth it for the service they give.

I have always tended to find tutors, workmen or service providers by recommended from friends or acquaintances but not knowing any language tutors I began a google search. My intuition directed me to First Tutors and I quickly found a number of well qualified and experienced tutors. My final choice came down to two, one of whom was away for the summer. The final choice did not let me down. She was absolutely terrific. She has started a course of tutoring for my 14yr old son who is studying Spanish for GCSE. She is conscientious and diligent but maintains humour and ease. My son who doesn't usually like extra work; has been enjoying his classes and is keen to continue.

The website was clear, but when I did have a small problem the direct contact and feedback with a real person via email was immediate and helpful. Most impressive!

The overall experience was good, but I think to real ease a tutors contact is a bit too high. Considering that if you needed to take more than one tutors contact. Thanks

First Tutors was very easy to use and the tutor descriptions and details given all helped me choose appropriately. One of the people I asked to contact didn't get back to me, but apart from that the process worked well and I am optimistic that I will have found an excellent tutor.

The site was quick and easy to use, recommended a great list of musicians that suited my requirements that were also local to me. Set up was efficient and the communication between my teacher and myself was really simple. Great site!
