“Prior to registering with First Tutors I had registered with another company and had had no response after two weeks which led me to registering with First Tutors. I found First Tutors brilliant. Within three days of advertising I had a tutor organised for my son.”

“First tutor website is easy to use and straightforward. The only thing is they only contact prospective tutors by email and the prospective tutor will email back the customer. Tutors have different age range and not all of them have upgraded phones with emails on the go. So delays in reponses from tutors are possible. I hope First Tutors can contact them through text messages as well. Tutors are more likely to have their phones with them all the time. Then First Tutors can respond to the customer through email or text messages.”

“Helpful website as there were lots of tutors offering different things for every subject and at different price ranges. However, the fee that you have to pay just to get the tutors details is ridiculous!”

Dear Bethan, Thank you for your feedback. Our introductory fee helps cover the costs of our identity and reference checks, qualification checks, etc. Some agencies charge an additional £10 for every hour a tutor teaches. A tutor that charges £10 per hour will have a one off intro fee of £4.99 but a tutor that charges £40 per hour will have an intro fee of £19.99. (max. fee). “An easy site to use , fortuitously the top of the list tutor lived 0.18 miles from us and so on reviewing his credentials seemed ideal .Liaising with him and then finalizing the tutoring was easy and straightforward”

“The site can be a little confusing to navigate at times, leaving the user unsure of whether any requests are being abandoned or saved. Also, there were not as many choices of tutors in the local area that I would have liked. We had one tutor accept and then turn us down as we hadn't responded within a few hours. Having said all that, once we had settled on a tutor the process from thereonin was quick and relatively simple. The option to put out the request for tutors to contact you is a good help too. The automatic reminders are useful. I would use this again.”

“Needed to find a tutor for my son so searched online at various different sites and then a friend recommended this site. I searched for tutors in my area, good description on teachers qualification and experience. Found a tutor and was able to contact through the site to discuss my child's needs and requirements. Once I was satisfied I was able to book a tutor. I am very happy with the service on this site; I have found a wonderful tutor and it has worked out really well.”
