“Its a good way to get to know tutors, but a bit slow for me to inderstand how they work. Im not British so my english is not native. I have been working with other tutoring portals who work differently. But once you do find your tutor, which I have, its fine.”

“I was simply trying to find a Saxophone Tutor in my area. I found First Tutors website to be 'Clunky' and 'Awkward' especially once initial contact was made. It was impossible to discuss anything with the tutor before committing to a lesson and then I had to pay £7.99 to First Tutors just to get her contact details. What a rip off! A much better deal is to go https://www.musicteachers.co.uk where I found a much bigger range of tutors in my area and I could contact any of them for free! First Tutors are just an unnecessary middle man, using web based technology to make people pay for a service that isn't required.”

We are sorry to hear you found the website clunky, we aim to make our site as user friendly as possible and would be willing to discuss potential improvements with you. With regard to our fees, these help cover the cost of our identity and reference checks on all of our tutors. Unlike free services, First Tutors do checks on all registered tutors to ensure their suitability with working with adults and young children. “It is a very quick and easy site to use. I like the way each tutor gives a brief and detailed outline of their skills and capabilities. One suggestion to include on the site is a compulsory review of each tutor by fellow students/parents.”

“The First Tutors website is easy to use etc.. but the problem is that once you have paid your fee to release the chosen tutors name and details you have no guarantee that the arrangements you have agreed to will be honoured. I paid the £19.99 plus VAT after agreeing tutoring but the tutor could not the honour this arrangement. I am out of pocket through no fault of my own and end up with no tutor. I have rated the website GOOD however as it is easy to use etc.. you are only as good as your tutors though and if this happens to more people, then you loose faith in the service.”

“Hi Sara canon is very good tutor and my two children liked her and they listen and pay attention to what she says in English She knows how to give lessons to their ages in a very simple way Im very grateful to know her Thank you first tutors”

“We have used First Tutors on two occasions, to book a tutor. We found the website very easy to use and intuitive and each time we were able to quickly identify a suitable tutor. The tutors have both been excellent for our daughter and have quickly improved her understanding of the subjects and her confidence. I'd have no hesitation in recommending First Tutors to anyone.”

“My first lesson with Claire was great. Thoroughly enjoyed it, I highly recommend her. She is confident, bubbly and I saw the drive she has in teaching. Learnt some great vocabulary. Looking forward to my next lesson.”

“As grandparents, we wanted to help our grandson who has special needs tutoring at school - especially in Maths. First Tutors website was easy to use and we were really chuffed to find exactly the help he needed and have the added bonus that the tutor was able to come to us.”
