“We contacted 2 tutors. One of which did come to our home to do a session with my son and whilst she was delightful she was not really quick enough to deal with A Level maths and had to keep looking up answers on-line as opposed to knowing the process herself. In our view she would be fabulous with younger children but not for A level maths as stated on the First Tutors site. The other tutor seemed more keen to discuss his hourly rates of pay than having a genuine interest in helping our son and after making contact we decided not to pursue this tutor, but regardless of this he messages us twice after we advised him we had found another tutor. Glad we didn't meet him as he seemed far more interested in his own personal gain than a genuine interest in tutoring A level maths - a close escape from a persistent self interested man.”

“My daughter had her first Computer Science session with Jackie Price today. My daughter reported that the Jackie really helped her a lot and that Jackie’s explanations made good sense., My daughter feels relieved now that she can now be hopeful of doing well in the subject. I liked Jackie’s friendly manner and that she was keen to gather information on my daughter’s specific areas of weakness and took time to do this in her own time. She used this knowledge to prepare resources in advance of the lesson to tackle topics that my daughter had not grasped in a school test. We look forward to continuing with Jackie.”

“Before we went Ria asked us if there was any areas we wanted to concentrate on, on the first visit my daughter immediately felt comfortable with Ria and they got to work straight away on the tricky areas we had mentioned. Ria was assessing my daughters strengths and weaknesses as they worked through different topics. Ria gave my daughter homework which was a list of around 40 questions covering the syllabus, they went through the completed homework on the next tutor session. My daughter & I felt that the two sessions she has had have really helped her and we look forward to booking more sessions with Ria.”

“Tutor had not prepared for a lesson. I sent him exam questions with solutions and when we started our session here looked at the questions like he had seen them for the first time. He was unable to answer 1 out of 2 questions we did. Didnt seem to have any confidence in anything he was telling me.”

“First Tutors responded quickly to my request for math tutoring with a list of available tutors in my area as well as a thorough description of each. There were a number of excellent, highly qualified candidates and we were able to choose one that worked very well with my son. In a very short time, my son’s confidence in math has improved dramatically, along with his test scores. This is our first time using a service like this but we couldn’t be more pleased with our experience with First Tutors. Many thanks!”
