“Website a bit fussy, overlap between categories etc. Also I got a total of around 8 separate packages/boxes from my single order - very disappointing from an environmental perspective. Items should be collated centrally and sent in one package. Also makes the offering seem more like a luxury hamper service which is what it’s name suggests and what I thought it would be.”

“I ordered some gluten free vegan assorted cakes as a surprise gift to give comfort in difficult times. It was very well received and described as ‘a parcel full of nice looking cakes’ and later as ‘yummy’ As it was a surprise random gift it didn’t matter that the order was delayed due to extra demand. Communication re this was good.”

“Wow! I bought this Food Advent Calendar for a friend. This is a gift that keeps giving for the 24 days leading up to Christmas. A great idea for any foodie lover. It's so exciting as you have no idea what will be behind each door every day. Far better than any other advent calendar I have ever seen. It's filled with great produce - bearing in mind we are on day six only, we have had a bar of dark chocolate with peppermint, a jar of lemon chilli jam, a jar of peanut butter, salted caramel marshmallows, a bottle of pepper sauce, a packet of beetroot crisps, and all normal sizes. I would definitely recommend this.”

“Love the actual item, however as a Christmas gift it arrived crushed into a bubble packet and when I cut it out (couldn't pull it out) the packaging was crushed and damaged which doesn't look good for a present.”

“firstly, i put a lot of items in my basket and the delivery charge was over £30 because they post from each independent stall instead of employing someone to go round picking your order which I think is a huge flaw in this system, I live in Manchester so I cannot go to the market myself, there is no way anyone is ever going to pay £30 plus for delivery, you need to employ a picker and this will reduce this problem. 2nd i then ordered two cocktail sets (these also were coming from two separate stalls) which said 3-5 working days for delivery but may take longer due to covid, I could accept this as I know the postal services are struggling at the moment, however, I ordered 8 other things from other businesses after I had ordered from borough box and they all arrived, so, on the 4th working day i emailed to ask where my items are, they hadn't even left the warehouse yet. this is a joke. it is December, you should of planned that you were going to be busy and employed some temp staff or just rota'd in more of your current staff. it is never ok to leave peoples items sat there after four days of them having paid for it when you state 3-5 working days to receive. its just simply not good enough and very very pro service. i have cancelled my order and am now awaiting my money back. disastrous and would not recommend. (i normally go above and beyond to recommend small businesses but on this occasion this was a disgrace).”

“The product I ordered has not been delivered. Due to what I can only presume to be Chrome autopopulate issue, the delivery address had the billing postcode on it, and the product has been delivered to neither. There are some posh brownies floating around in the lost, and a friend without a birthday treats.”

“This was a gift and delivered straight to the recipient so I never actually got to see it properly. Borough box were very easy to deal with, I was also given updates on delivery AND the chance to not only choose the delivery date but also to change it to the following day at short notice (this was perfect as I realised at short notice they may not be in). My only comment is that it would be nice to see a picture of it packed when you choose the standard packaging (and not the upgrade fancy wooden box). Other than that - this was a great gift idea and I will use them again.”

“I ordered well in advance a gift for friends special birthday, I chose the date option I required but they did not receive their gift until three days after the requested delivery date. I understand Yodel picked it up the day before but this is still not acceptable, I suggest you use a different courier company, one that is reliable and will deliver on the requested date. Yodel are notorious for this issue and I am surprised you use this courier company, for this reason I wont be ordering from you again.”

“The boxes arrive well packaged and wishing the timeframe stated. I now bought several of these and they are great for male and female gifts. The last lot I bought were so I could share a Christmas drink with my team at work, they drink for one included a bottle of beer a snack and glass for £9.99 and it looks a substantial gift for that cost! Well done borough box for providing for a range of audiences and a a reasonable price. Very good value for money and great quality! Will be back soon buying again!”

“Bought this gift for my dad’s 70th birthday and he loved it. Perfect for an ale lover. The selection of snacks was varied and interesting. Great service and prompt delivery. Would highly recommend. I have my eye on some of the other boxes on offer for more birthdays.”
