Did not deliver full invoice and now not answering my calls. This is the Croydon store. Please be careful guys, it’s important that you think about after sales experience

Paid for two sofas £4000 given 4 different dates for delivery. Called given another different day for delivery, was told we are lying we were never given the date change again, lucky for me the conversation is recorded. they have breached the agreement speak over customers and lie constantly to said customers. I paid for the sofas on my credit card so thankfully covered to be refunded back. My advise is always pay for goods on your credit card it gives you better protection. Don’t use this company they are very polite in taking your order but once you step foot out of the building your treated with no respect. Cameron from the Birstall store you don’t have the first clue of customer service let alone consumer rights.

Simply atrocious. I ordered at the Purley Way Croydon in person with an A3 scale drawing of my hallway asking for a sofa that would fit that pinch point. I was repeatedly assured that the backs come off the sofa which I chose, and that there would be no problem whatsoever. I re-checked this crucial point, and also pointed out that I would be moving in 6 months and need a removable back. I waited the 9 weeks it takes. The lorry turned up over an hour early on the specified day, while I was still clearing the hallway. Managed to finish moving furniture around the house in a bit of a rush, and took the broken-down old sofa to the bin shed to enable free moving space for delivery. Delivery staff then said the sofa couldn't have the back removed and they'd have to return it to base since it would not clear the corridor. An engineer was supposed to call me back that day so I stood by [day off work now]. Never happened. I called at 4pm describing the situation, someone said they'd call back in an hour. Nobody did, so I emailed, no response for at all. So I called again, got an assurance someone would call me later. Eventually spoke to a manager who said that FV take no responsibility for access issues. I mentioned this was a trading standards issue since staff are describing items at point of sale incorrectly. Was assured that staff are fully trained and that access issues are not their responsibility under terms and conditions which I should turn to and check. Advised to put all my furniture back in the hall and living room since delivery would not be made that day despite assurances to the contrary. Asked to terminate the order, they refused to advance this. They have £1800 of mine, and I've wasted a day of annual leave. I am sitting on the floor in chaos, am quite elderly and haven't the energy now to put everything back. Will have to take legal and/or Trading Standards advice of course for mis-sale. They are not a fit organisation to undertake transactions with.

Had a really bad experience after buying a 700 pound mattress it has ripped from end to end luckly i took guardsmen insurance out but they only offered 350 cash or replacement which is fine but the manager at birstall is the most arrogant narrow minded man i have ever spoken to he seems to think he is doing me a favour by replacing it well i will be making a complaint about him but for sure i will never buy anything from there again

Bought a dining table, 4 chairs sideboard and top February 2018. Waited 5 months for delivery. When the items arrived, the sideboard top was the wrong design. After being told there were two tops, both with the same barcode waited another 3 months for delivery of the right one. They delivered the same style again so we had two. Refused them both and took a refund. Now, 18 months later one of the sideboard doors has a crack in it. Been ringing up for 4 weeks now, have sent photo's and description. keep getting passed around. Apparently the manufacturer is not returning their calls!!!!!!!!! Disgusted.

Just to warn you all the Furniture Village in Staines are guilty of false advertising. Saw an offer for a bed and mattress. Mattress advertised says it's a Mammoth 3000 which was worth £1200 and they were selling it with. bed frame for £795. However looking on the website I saw the mattress on the bed was not as advertised. It was a cheaper mattress that they provided. When I challenged the manager about what they were advertising he got very flustered and said it was a mistake and screwed up the display card. I thought you had to sell what was advertised so i filmed his response. False advertising. Beware shoppers.

I would never recommend them. This is for the reading store but imagine their whole company is like this. We ordered a clearance mattress from the reading store. It was in perfect condition, even our order statement said so. The day before it was due to be delivered we got a call saying it had been damaged and needs to be fixed. This was the first sign of the company poorly treating its customers by not taking care of their products. At this point we had paid for the mattress and hadn't received anything. Next it took us about 10 times to get through to them on the phone to find out what happened the next day to sort out the delivery- 'it got damaged somehow' that's all we got from them. They said they would try to clean/ repair the mattress which took a week with us contacting them, not the other way round. It still did not get fixed. They said they can still deliver it to us but of course we did not want a product that had been damaged by them. Next they said we could get the same mattress type delivered at our original clearance price. Great we thought, finally getting sorted and fair compensation. Once again they let us down. Never called us, always relying on us to sort it out so we had to do the calling up ever when they said they had booked a call in for them to call. So, we called to say what's happening. Only to be told they can't do it at the same price. Only option was to a refund or a reduced price on the current mattress. Even had the cheek to say you could use the money to look for another mattress of the same price- we were never going to give them our money after this. We had to refuse the reduced cost as we didn't want a mattress that was still no in good shape that they had damaged. No compensation offered, barely an apology either so took the refund as we just didn't want the hassle of dealing with them again. Shame on the staff at reading, you have lost yourself a customer that was willing to buy future products with you but never again. We will also tell others to stay away because of your appalling customer service, lack of contact, lack of care for your product and overall poor service.

We paid over £4,500 for a corner sofa in January 2019 (in cash which was maybe a mistake). When we were sold the sofa the salesman told us it was best leather, hard wearing all the way from Italy. As we have young grandchildren we thought it would be the ideal sofa. How wrong were we!!!!! The sofa was delivered 4 weeks ago. Both my husband and I work and do not sit on the sofa all night long. However, sagging has already started. Went back to FV to check if their display sofa did the same. It didn't. We spoke to the mgr and he told us to smooth the leather and tuck it to the back of the sofa each night................we paid £4,500 to do that!!!!!! mmmmmm I think not!!!!! The mgr told us that a technician from the manufacturer would come to see us to see if it was a manufacture fault. We received a phone call today from FV (and guess what) - it isn't a manufacture fault and FV can't do anything else (apparently). We'll see about that. Small Claims court here we come. We're fuming, we're due to retire and thought the sofa would last a long time. Our last leather sofa (not from FV and not expensive) lasted over 15 years. There was nothing wrong with it so we gave it our daughter. The only reason for a new sofa was that we were refurbishing the house.

DO NOT BUY FROM FV. We got 2 Parker Knoll sofas and a recliner chair which were delivered on 14/12/18. Three months ago a tiny hole appeared in the seat of the chair, we contacted FV and after a few weeks a technician came and of course said it wasn’t their fault and if we had insurance to claim on that. After 3 weeks tried to contact FV and after numerous attempts spoke to someone who told me the lady that dealt with this was stock taking and she would call when she had finished. She phoned today and before she could say anything she would have to talk to her manager. The hole is much larger now and when we have visitors I tell them what has happened and where it came from. People are amazed that as it is under a year old we haven’t been offered an exchange. We took out the Guardsman Policy but apparently they are just the same so it might be the small claims.

Bought a dining table online at FV. After owning the dining table less than 3 weeks the lacquer on the top of the table started to come off. We always used mats on the table and followed the aftercare advice of using a damp cloth to clean it. I emailed the after care team as I was in my 30 day right to refuse as my table is clearly unfit for purpose to be ignored. I emailed again and made a phone call to them asking to get back to me ASAP. FV asked me to send some photos of the damage to them via email and they’re response was that I’ve damaged the table and to use mats at all times. Absolutely terrible after care and customer service from start to finish. Avoid this company! FV I will be taking this further.

I do not usually write reviews but I visited this reviews site soon after (yes, after!) placing our very first order with Furniture Village. We had placed our order online, after visiting the Ipswich Furniture Village, where we saw a lovely dining table set on offer. It was a late night purchase -- we have just moved into a new home with a toddler and our general exhaustion (and a couple of glasses of wine) meant that we did not do our usual due diligence of reading reviews prior to ordering. The following day, on reading the reviews here, both my wife and I were horrified and even contemplated cancelling our order immediately, but as we really liked the dining table set, we decided to "risk" it. Needless to say (from our 5 star rating) that we are extremely happy that we did not cancel our order. The after sales experience in our case was brilliant. We were contacted a few days after placing our order to arrange the delivery (the set we choose was marked for 14 days delivery). We agreed for the first available delivery slot and just 10 days after placing the order, we have our lovely dining table set delivered and installed in our dining room. The delivery personnel, who had driven down from Cambridge, were prompt, efficient and very pleasant -- I would go so far as to say it was a pleasure to deal with them. All in all, we have had an outstanding experience with Furniture Village.

The staff at the hull store are grossly incompetent and don’t bother returning calls. I’m still waiting for them to resolve an outstanding issue and planning to find out how I can formally complain about the pathetic service!

NEVER EVER EVER AGAIN. will i step foot in their shop. Everything is your fault and, every excuse in the book is rolled out. Absolute disgrace to deal with after they have your money. Bought a couch last year, it took 18 weeks to arrive and they it was the wrong colour. Everybody has a second chance and we bought a table of them this year January and arrive April. Its now broken in half (ceramic) and they say its our fault. currently battling to resolve. Avoid these cowboys. #notveryhappy

Shocking after sales My experience in the shop was first class but unfortunately it went down hill from there. I ordered the sofa in September 2018. When my suite was ready for delivery my builders had not finished, so I paid Furniture Village £300 to safely store my suite. When they did try to deliver it, it was damaged, the travel leg had been snapped off and all the back was scuffed and dirty. So I waited another 6 weeks and they tried to deliver the same damaged sofa. They did say it was a new one but it had exactly the same damage as the first one. Even the delivery driver was shocked and thought I had purchased an old shop floor one. Eventually, 12 weeks later I took delivery of my suite and sponged the dirt off and I'm now happy with it. The final delivery was June 2019. But bearing in mind I had nothing to sit on for over 12 weeks and the fact that I paid £300 for safe storage I did not receive an apology or any refund on the storage fees as they said even though it was damaged whilst they stored it, they did store it and I had to pay! It certainly took the shine off my purchase and I will never use them again.
