“Moments after ordering the game I realised it was an on line game. I had thought that I was ordering a hard copy disc for the PC. I asked immediately for a refund but found you to be very unhelpful.”
The product listing clearly states its a download and our refund policy clearly states that no refunds will be given for mistakes in purchase once the key has been dispatched. It is not our fault you never bothered to read anything about what you were buying. Not to mention the item you purchased isn't even available as a hard copy!
As for being 'very' unhelpful we explained why a refund could not be made we even replied 3 times trying to explain to you why. So just because it wasn't the outcome you were looking for you deem this 'very unhelpful'.
So we are being punished with a 1 star rating for the customers own mistake.
“Bought the game on their site, directed me to Gamersgate where I downloaded it. The download didn't work. Spoke to Gamersgate who said I need to remove antivirus before downloading which is a load of garbage.
I understand it may not be Gamers247 error but if they are going to sell you you on to other business then they should at least make sure they are reliable.”
So what you're saying is you were provided with a solution to the problem but you ignored it.
90% of our business is based on downloads from third parties be it Steam, Origin or Gamersgate in this case. We sell numerous copies of all games and never have problems with people downloading them, usually because in the rare case they encounter a problem they follow the solution provided!
Don't you think our reviews would be littered with people complaining they can't download the game if that were true ??
“I bought a CD, and it arrived with the lid of the case broken and unusable. I emailed prior to leaving this review, as requested, but was informed that nothing would be done, but I could have 20% off my next order. Which is useless since I won't be ordering from here again.”
You contradict yourself we offered you 20% off your next order, thats not nothing, we even sent you a follow-up email explaining in detail why we couldn't send out a replacement case.
But lets take a moment to examine this; you purchased a cd for £1.99, we sent it brand new and sealed in an unbroken case, in a padded envelope by first class post.
You contact us to let us know that the case arrived broken, we inform you that we won't be able to replace the case but we can offer you a 20% discount on your next purchase.
Your response is to leave a 1 star review.
The one star in no way represent the level of service you received nor does it represent the quality of the item. From personal experience as a retailer and a consumer, it warrants no less than 4 stars. Taking into account the value of the item (£1.99) the fact that you received it the day after you ordered it, the fact that it was brand new and sealed as described and the fact that we offered you a discount on your next order. The only issue being that the case got damaged during transit.
What this 1 star actually represents is how petty you are, we are actually thankful that you won't be ordering from us again because franky what retailer would want you as a customer ??
You wrote to us to say that you had purchased a Windows game but wanted a MAC game, despite it being advertised as such. Our response was;
"Sorry there isn't a Mac version, we do make it clear on the product page that its PC only. "
So how exactly is that rude? The only thing that is rude is leaving a 1 star review because you made a mistake, not only that but your comments are slanderous.
“Id love to review this product but I havent actually, as yet, received it!! The money isnt the point, I would just like to have my order. I have emailed on a number of occasions but I have heard nothing!! NOT GOOD!!! I do not recommend this company.”
Your order was never accepted, no money was ever taken from your account you can verify this with your bank so I don't know why you're leaving negative feedback now.
“If only there was a '0 stars' option. The arrogance of this company (or is it just 'David'?) is astounding. Reading through all of the reviews here demonstrates that he is happy to accept and thank the 5-star reviewers, but fails to apologise, acknowledge or accept anything bordering on criticism. He must be a perfect human being hiding behind his keyboard. Legally speaking, it looks like he has covered himself with one of the thinnest and vaguest refund policies ever, whilst the terms and conditions basically give him carte blanche to get away with pretty much anything. If I wasn't so p****d off, I'd be applauding you for your 'business acumen'.
As with a few other people on here, I'll acknowledge that I possibly made a mistake when using the mobile version of this site. I don't know what 'Steam Key', means. I was trying to buy a game with trains in it so thought the steam referred to that. My fault then. If only I was an expert in computers and the associated lingo. I tried a bit of a debate with David and even asked for a phone number. Apparently he doesn't have a number because it's not needed when it's such an 'efficient' company. I agree. I got emails through within minutes. I just would have liked a product my son could open at Christmas rather than handing him a bit of paper with a code written on it.
Every poor review on here is met with a response which borders on an attack of that person's own failings. Sitting in that ivory tower must be bliss. If I had been apologised to and had things explained in a different way I'd have let it lie.
I expect one of two things will happen now. Either I'll get the abuse that other 'one star' reviewers have received or there'll be nothing (in a thinly veiled attempt not to take the bait). Actually, he might even really surprise us by providing an apology or acknowledgement for how the mobile site can be difficult for some customers and that he will take feedback on board in an attempt to be more open and considerate of potential customers and future business. Merry Christmas fellow one stars.”

Thank you for pointing out the fact that we take the time to reply to all reviews regardless if its 1 star or 5 star. Our refund policy is far from vague (in summary) it clearly states if the mistake lies with the customer then no refund will be issued (this is due to the unique nature of the items we sell) but if the mistake lies with us we offer a refund or replacement. You have already admitted to us that in this case the mistake lies with yourself, you point out in your review that you received the order quickly and that we have responded to your queries in a efficient manner and yet in your arrogance have still only left a one star review (or 0 star if you had your way). We are beyond perfect and you will see we have apologized when fair reviews have been left pointing out our mistakes. Why are you under the impression that when a customer leaves an unwarranted 1 star review attacking our company that we have to apologize and can't reply in kind? The hypocrisy in this review is overwhelming. Having said all this we wish all our customers a happy holiday 1 star and 5 star alike :)
“I suggest you don't EVER buy from gamers247 there a scam!!!! I requested a refund and he never gave me my refund and I'm on the process of talking to my solicitor!!!”
I would suggest emailing the company in question before writing a negative review because not only is it disrespectful you also avoid making yourself look stupid. As we have evidence which shows it has been delivered.
“totally useless,
unable to find where to put the activation key in, I tried at Norton but was rejected with the activation key given,
quite possible it's down to me but end result is that I have wasted £10.”
It always helps to contact the Merchant first before leaving a negative review especially when the problem lies with yourself as we provide full activation instructions on our website. !! PLEASE IGNORE THIS REVIEW IT IS UNWARRANTED !!
“I have waited 2 weeks for my game to arrive and it still has not come. They have taken my money and the game has still not arrived. I am disgusted with this service and I will never be using this site again.”
Firstly the 'key to download the game' was sent to your email address on day of purchase as advertised. How do we know you received said email? Because that's the email you replied to. (The irony/stupidity is amazing I know!) Secondly instead of contacting us with your imaginary issue straight away you wait 2 weeks before contacting us and then leave negative feedback at the same time without giving us chance to reply and saving yourself the embarrassment. We await your apology.
“Bought sim city 4 from you. It had patches missing and therefore will not load or install. When asked about it i was told to take it up with EA games. Sorry guys, you sold it, it is YOUR responsability to make sure what you sell is correct, without missing data, registery or missing INI entry. Its as if you are trying to pass the buck for your failings to your customer. I bought the game from you. You provided me with the game pass key, it is down to you. You get better service down at your local car boot sale. 1 word.... RUBBISH.”
Actually we only supply the key not the game, the game is downloaded from EA so if anything is 'missing' as you claim its their responsibility. When you contacted us we said you should contact them directly as they will be better equipped to help you, this is still the case. It would be the same policy from any games retailer (or car boot seller lol). Seriously though we have provided the key to download the game, which you have done, so we have fulfilled any obligation to you and pointed you in the right direction for further support. Leaving a one star review... one word petty.
We replied directly to your email apologising for any delay and explaining why so to say there was no customer service is a lie. The fact that you're also leaving a 1 star review after openly admitting to receiving your product the same day as purchase is testament to what sort of person you are.
“Had someone attempt to use my card fraudulently after using the site. I can't prove it's them but the timing is more than a bit suspicious... I wouldn't risk it. Also positive reviews are bribed, you're given a 15% discount if you leave one.”
“Bought a game and downloaded to Ubisoft platform - ok so far. However I was unable to open game as the acitvation key was already in use. Ubisoft technical support confirmed that the activation code had already been used on another Ubisoft account before I had even purchased the game. Contacted Gamers247 who clearly did not believe me, even though I had e mails from Ubisoft technical support to confirm this, and then despite repeated requests for a refund completely ignored me. You might like to check out company address on street view before you make a purchase.”
“A most unpleasant experience enough to stop me buying anything online again except from Amazon. Games 24 totally ignore consumer rights, also the products can be found a lot cheaper with proper descriptions, i.e. Version 1 or 2 and date, 2013 or 2015 etc. elswhere. Beware ! look for the small print if you can find it ho ho.”
Buyer has openly admitted purchasing the wrong product even though the title, description and photo of the product is completely different to the product he claims he was trying to purchase. We dispatched the product he purchased which he has confirmed receiving yet continues to send us threatening and abusive emails. Any 'unpleasantness' is completely one-sided from the buyer to which we have kept copies of all communication.
