Plant delivered was nothing like advertised and in very poor condition, I raised a ticket and it’s been 14 days with no response, no contact number and online chat was rude and unhelpful, AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!

Ordered a shrub (viburnum plicatum tomentosum mariesii) which was shown on their website. The wrong one arrived. They sent a viburnum but not the mariesii plicatutm. The one I wanted had a single-lobed leaf - the one they sent had a three lobed leaf. I got on the webchat and sent photos. Eight times I explained that I had the wrong plant. Eight times I was told to wait four weeks and then it would look like the one on the website. I then asked them to explain how the leaf shape on a plant could change. Eventually I was given a refund. It took an hour of arguing to get that result. Ridiculous.

Rubbish plants and rubbish service. Roses had no root ball, just a stick in a 5l pot. One was almost dead. I had bought them as a present but would have been embarrassed giving them.I wasted £75. No telephone number, mail box full. They had sent me an e-mail saying my plants would be late, 3 weeks instead of 3-5 days which was on their website at the time of ordering. I used this to send my complaint and photos but a month later still no reply. From all the reviews I read I do not understand how this company is still operating. Spread the word and let’s close them down.

Avoid this company like the plague. They advertise stock they don’t have and take your money. There is no customer service and you can’t get hold of anyone. You’re wasting your money with this criminal organisation. They should be investigated.

Plant not as expected when it arrived. No foliage on it all and it's supposed to be its growing season. Photographed and e mailed my complaint. STILL WAITING FOR A REPLY No use trying the online chat. It keeps asking to refresh the page before you can get a reply

Very disappointing .my first two orders arrived a little late but understood .but my 3rd order didn’t arrive.so after 5 weeks of waiting chased it up .and apparently it got cancelled without me being aware of it .no explanation So I was waiting in vane ,will not be using this company again .

Same as other bad reviews here. Bought larger acers to avoid waiting for them to grow.Sent frost damaged poor plants. Raised tickets unanswered ,robot chat,personal chat for two days doing their scratch the stem test ,I snapped it to show them it was dry and dead ,eventually told send it back at my cost[how can I send large plants plus the cost].and keep and try and claim back with their 5 yr guarantee.Company set up to rob you and they kick the can down the road until you give up. Not me,trading standards and credit card company and solicitor if neccesary .worst company ever dealt with.

Expensive dead plants, no contact telephone number, no reply to chat, not reply to tickets raised for the damaged, dead plant, the company is quick to take your money, delivery extremely slow. Sadly I have to give the company 1* as I can not write a review without it, not even worth 1*

ordered 6 to 7ft Honeysuckle - got 3ft. £120 charged instead of £50!! tried to complain - no phone - no email - just a "Ticket number" form. 9 days = no reply. online chat = 1 hour wait and then cut off. Facebook message = twice and no reply. sending them back but it has cost £29. if we do not get a refund in 14 days then it is chargeback time on the credit card. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE AT ALL

Avoid, do a chargeback on your debit or credit card as soon as possible. Trading Standards need to investigate......

I have used them a lot in the past but they are now selling poor quality plants that they present on their website as one thing but you get nothing like it. Trading standards should step in. Raised a complaint and heard nothing.

Ive had to throw the hydrangea away as it was of such poor quality. The acer I received was hideously over priced too for such a small stalk. Very disappointed with the company to allow this.

Shocking service... shocking plant quality ... shocking delivery times ... definitely not ‘express’ It is reassuring to see that my experience is so similar to others here. This plant arrived damaged and cost £15. It looked nothing like those in the pictures or like what I would expect to buy at a garden centre.

Long delays, plants arrived dried up, plants not as shown in the photo but worst of all, zero customer service. Their ‘chat’ facility is a joke! Minimum 40 mins wait. One day they posted it will be 2 hours to connect to a member of staff. I wrote a fair but negative review, but they’ve not posted it.

Not worthy of even 1 star, after 10 working days still no change in my order status - still shows processing. Contacted them to ask for a cancellation of my order and refund BUT they will not oblige and say I must wait until goods received and then return to them (even though goods are still with them) - they will then retain 25% of monies!, THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED DO NOT GO NEAR THIS COMPANY.

Very poor specimen of a Japanese acer Terrible condition and not as per size or quality Having noted other reviews this company should not be trading.

I too wish I'd read the reviews before wasting money with Gardening Express. The teaser is the 3-5 days, delivery. On chasing, they'll point you to the website banner (now removed) suggesting it might take 7 days - and a further chase will elicit a reminder that their terms state 15 days - now amended to 28 working days. Perhaps, when they take an order, they don't have the stock and then source it to meet demand?
