“Steer clear is my advice. Ordered a shrub but within 2 hours realised I had ordered the wrong species. No contact phone number anywhere, 3 emails trying to cancel/change the order. No response and the ordered shrub arrived. Disappointing, given the £30 'special offer' write up. Avoid”

“Awful customer service over a month of sending mails and still no conclusion refund or replacement,Purchased a 5-6 ft Specimen cordyline as advertised on special deal from £149.99 to £49.99 but when arrived the box measured under 4ft and the plant out of box measured just over 4ft ! Constant requests to gardening express for a replacement or refund to date have been totally ignored , will definitely Not be buying from them again and would Not recommend them. Buy from garden centres at least you can see what your getting and get a refund if not happy.”

“dozens of emails ignored. Delivered dead plants ignored my emails of refund requests. Basically just take money and ignore the fact that it has been wasted. They just keep the money and couldn't give a damn about what the customer receives. Worst ever company to deal with. Worst ever (i would like to say customer service) this is none existent. Just felt like I have been dealing with online money scammers!!”

“This is the worst garden plant company that I have ever dealt with and I have been an experienced gardener foe 40+ years. When I reported that only 3 of the 10 Hostas, I purchased had grown supplying photos, they took ages to reply, when they did reply, the reply was very unhelpful, blaming Covid etc., when I contacted them again asking for a refund they have eventually given me this standard reply, which is rubbish and incorrect: - Hello Terry, Thank you for very kindly sending over the photographs of your plants. With regret, this plant is not covered under the terms of our 5 year guarantee for free replacements. We would ask that if there are any problems with any of your plants on delivery, you notify us within a maximum of 14 days to allow us to put it right for you. With regret, I am unable to help you with this any further as you have been in possession of your plants since ------------------ prior to notifying us of any problems. We find it best to advise you of the plants that are covered by the terms of our 5 year guarantee at the point of purchase. Please appreciate we have thousands of plants within our ever increasing plant portfolio and this changes regularly due to seasonality, We provide a list of product reference codes that are covered by the guarantee on our website. There are certain plants we supply that will either perish due to seasonality or will easily perish if they are not given the necessary care and attention, for this reason your plants are not covered by the terms of the 5 year guarantee. I can only apologise that I am unable to assist you any further with this matter on this occasion. Kind regards Sam This is just a standard letter that has not been correctly filled in, that is how bad they are. Never, Never order from this company!”

“A company will reveal their true selves when something goes wrong. Upon not receiving my plants. They firstly blamed COVID. But 3 months, catch a grip. Ordered in April, chased in July and still not rectified by October! You don't deserve to have a business with this customer service.”

“Totally unhappy with this company. Ordered a tree never arrived, I have chased up but I never got an acknowledgment. I ordered in March 202O and we are now ending October and I haven’t got a response, how so rude. I have given up, please don’t buy from this company Disappointed”

“Ordered some grasses recently. Took forever to arrive and when they did they were dried up and not at all like the description. Sent over photographs to query the condition and received an immediate email saying they would be in touch but bear in mind it’s a busy period. That was over 2 weeks ago and despite a follow up email from me, I’ve still heard nothing. They weren’t cheap either. Avoid.”

“Terrible - I'll never use them again. Plants were badly damaged in transit and half the size described. Customer service has been almost completely unresponsive - there's no number to call, the chat facility has been removed and the support ticket process has been completely ignored by staff. I've lost £40. Will you?”

“Ordered in May, got a refund via cashback from bank in Sept, now GE are disputing it and trying to steal my money back! Utterly unbelievable. I have sent evidence to the bank for them to argue my case, no way are they stealing my money back again, total thieves!!”

“As all the other negative reviews have stated the customer service is appalling. I complained about a sub standard plant I had received and after 2 weeks of not hearing anything I checked the status of my ticket - it had disappeared without being resolved. I have raised another ticket and 4 weeks later still no response. I will never buy from this company again and strongly advised you do not. Do not be fooled by glossy website photos. The reality is very different. My order was for 4 x Ilex topiary balls. I received 3 x Ilex balls and one mis-shapen thing. At £32 per plant not acceptable. I will now pursue a 'charge back' with my credit card company.”

“Do not buy from this company. I received rotten plants and most of then died. My complain with photos was simply ignored and after few weeks my tickets vanished. So no plants and no refund. Do not waisted your money.”

“It's anything but express as it's almost a month since I placed my order and I'm still waiting for the bulk of it to arrive. Initially they were apologetic and assured me it was on it's way however I'm still waiting. They promised to be in touch soon with a resolution but that was over a week ago and still no response and they've ignored the latest ticket communication requesting a refund. I ordered from them trusting in their glowing reviews on their website however had I read all of the appalling independent reviews I would never have used this company. It's the first and last time I will use Gardening Express.”

“I have had the most disappointing after sales experience with Gardening Express. I have been in contact with them 3 times since i ordered back in July and although i have had 2 responses both have just said they are looking into the issue and will respond. The last time was 2 weeks ago and still no response. I am disgusted with their lack of care and customer service. I could certainly not get away with this poor service in my business. A number of my plants arrived broken and of very poor quality.”

“I've had 2 orders this with company, the first plant died and when I raised a ticket, I received a holding response and then nothing else. I since found out that they closed the ticket without resolving it despite plants supposed to have a 5 year guarantee. I stupidly placed a second order for another plant and this arrived wrong - it was the wrong plant and it wasn't a true tree, it was a grafted rootstock but there was no mention of these trees being rootstocks. All in all they're a very poor business and I still haven't had a response from them and I'm not holding out much hope either. Avoid like the plague.”
