They cancelled my insurance without any warning, with them allegedly stating they have tried contacting (which is no way the truth) to try and get my driving licence document. I'm not sure what to do as its difficult to find a decent insurance now they have cancelled my insurance. Has this happened to anyone else, if so, what did you do?

Absolutely shocking company, rude, not clear about things, claiming modifications haven't been made clear to them when they have. Wouldn't recommend them to anyone at all.

Stay away from these money grabbers. Very poor company who lives off young drivers. They might be the cheapet but you get what you pay for. Spend that little extra and you will not regret it.

Starting with Carrot Insurance, everything was easy, paperwork was sent on time so I can start driving quickly. Very soon things started going wrong. The Dashboard app is very inaccurate, safe journeys would be shown as a -10 sometimes and journeys would be registered even if I am not using the car. 2 hour journeys will be sometimes shown as 5 minutes. Since the app isn't accurate you can't really keep 'track' of your driving habits and does not allow you to improve. Carrot's policy states that two speed occasions will result in cancellation of policy. I received a warning the first time, and have been driving carefully since then, received a second warning and I challenged them. Photos were sent as evidence, and no emails were replied back to. The speeding incident occurred on the 26th July. A car hit my car and drove off illegally on the 5th of July. Acknowledging I had an open claim, Carrot still decided to cancel my insurance on the 18th July. I am currently paying for the full premium even though I have only been driving for 3 months. I still do not have a car because they decided to cancel the policy, but am still paying for rest of the premium. Carrot may seem appealing at first because of the 'low' prices, but black box is only to attract younger customers but in case of an accident, everything will be against you. Please stay away, and pay a little extra to go with well known companies - they're well known for a reason.

I had a tough time dealing with any issues in regards to my car insurance and have little notification of anything going on with my vehicle. Disappointed overall by the lack of care and have little hope on their performance in the future.

The customer service is horrendous. My black box was fitted incorrectly with holes being drilled into my footwell! The box was faulty, affecting scores and my reward for October 4th still hasn't sorted on November 25th

Carrot insurance is the most shoddiest company ever! They have the worst customer service ever. I've been trying to see how many miles I have left on my policy for over 6 weeks and each time I ring them I get told that they are sorry and that I should have a email within 7 working days... absolute joke of a company!!! DO NO USE CARROT INSURANCE. This is my 2nd year with carrot and I definitely won't be renewing my policy

Recently been in accident, what wasn't my fault nothing was done and now they've taken my car and not sent me the money. worst customer service of my life, causing a lot of stress. Also they are awful for contact as they will never call and broad spire are awful to.

Got sent a an email advising 50% over speed limit. Fair enough this was correct. Warned if it happens again policy will be cancelled. 2 weeks later another email advised again speeding this time 70 mph in a 40 limit. Checked the road and the limits 70!! Argued the toss and they backed down saying the road next to it was a 40! Yet another email a month later 33mph in a 20 zone. Checked road again and its a 30 limit.!! Will not renew

rubbish company, spent hour and half waiting for them to answer phone, then to be told i need to call back tomorrow, they just want your money and they find an easy excuse to cancel policy, then they have the cheek to ask for an extra £150 for them to cancel policy. stay clear, may be the cheapest online but in the long run more expensive, pay a bit more and go with someone else.

had to cancel the policy as insurance needed updating to business use - £150 charge!!! And i had the pleasure of holding on for half and hour to get that news!

Installed a box and the scores are always rating me down so they don't have to give me any bonus. I travel the same distance to work everyday and one day it will give me 10 out of 10 on usage and another day it gives me -10 even though I traveled the same distance I traveled all the way from tower hamlets to newham drive of 30 mins on dual caridge way and it scored me -10 on not driving a long distance if driving 40miles per hour for 30mins isn't a long distance what is. Total rubbish

My partner's car broke two weeks before our baby was due so we had to quickly sort out a new car. We then phoned carrot to let them know there was a change of vehicle and they wanted £340 to CHANGE THE VEHICLE?! Don't know how they can even justify that. Would not reccomend to anyone. Also got charged £53 'admin fee' to change our address when we moved house.

Absolutely disgusting I called carrot after receiving a letter to inform me my policy had been cancelled. I was informed they had sent a notification of cancellation 7 days prior to this (I am still to receive this letter). Carrot advised my insurance had been cancelled as I had exceeded my allowed miles, I argued this as I purchased another 2000 miles just a few weeks before changing my car and I have not drove this car very far at all! They were adamant their gps system is correct and I had in fact exceeded these miles around 2 weeks ago (utter nonsense). They agreed to investigate but advised I would not be insured on my car pending their decision (which is illegal). As I told carrot I will be driving my car under the impression I am insured until the issue is resolved. Absolute joke of a company with NO customer service skills. All they want is your money and will charge an obscene amount for any little change to your policy - £150 to change my car?! I ADVISE EVERYONE TO STAY WELL AWAY FROM THIS EXCUSE OF AN INSURANCE BROKER

My son took out insurance in good faith. Carrot came to fit a box and allegedly found several modifications, mud flaps, there are no mud flaps, speakers which are not factory fitted, dust caps, because they are blue and apparently a boom box which there isn't. So as my son didn't fit these then he wasn't aware but carrot have not given him the opportunity to remove. They now want him to cancel the insurance and won't get much if any of what he has paid and if he doesn't cancel they will. This company is a disgrace if only had been with him when he took out the insurance as I would have looked at reviews. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY NO BUSINESS ETHICS A RIP OFF!!

Absolutely disgusted. Try to charge my son £478 for a change to policy then £110 to cancel policy. Taking this to ombudsman. Avoid. NO stars

Worst company ever they asked me to send the 2 parts of my license by emailing me when they already had a copy of the 2 parts on there data base from when I signed up with then so I didn't reply because i thought they made a mistake so when I didn't reply they cancelled my policy they also told me I had an outstanding balance that had to be paid and when theres an issue like this your constantly left on hold or they patch you through to someone else. And they want you to rate them from 1 to 5 stars it's a joke it shought be from 0 to five I can't wait to renew my insurance and go with another company.

I have just finished a whole year with Carrot. At the start it was an ordeal, I had to pay £117(?) JUST to change the address on my policy... Most staff are quite pleasant to talk to, others not so much. I was involved in a crash back in February and told Carrot what had happened first. They seemed to think that I was the main person to blame, when I wasn't. They didn't bother to tell me that the person I had the accident with claimed whiplash? I literally found out about a week ago, so close to finishing the year? Their calling system is hurrnedous, it takes a good hour to get through to someone and when you do the call is so crackly you can't hear what they are saying. Overall, i believe Carrot are terrible. I've just changed to Admiral and have had a massive difference. So much calmer and easier to get in contact with and not so ridiculous! Do not recommended Carrot to anyone. Absolute joke!

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. Probably one of the worst decisions I have made in my life is agreeing to a policy with Carrot Insurance. My box tells them I have been to places I have never been to. Driven at times I have never driven. Left my car on over night. Take at least 30 minutes to answer the phone to tell them their data is inaccurate. I have been told on 4 separate occasions that someone will come and check my box and re calibrate it. Been threatened with policy cancellation for driving 20 mph in a 30mph zone that my box registered as a dual carriageway. Customer service 0/10. When I rang to buy top up miles I was told I had to do this form my carrot card that had never arrived as was going to take 21 days to arrive. In this time my miles ran out & I was again threatened with cancellation unless I bought more - which I could only do on my card that had no arrived. Basically rubbish company & I will NEVER re new with them or recommend them to anyone.
