Absolutely awful Insurance company. They cancelled my insurance due to apparently "not receiving documents yet i sent them and i didn't get any emails/texts/phone calls to say that they did not get the documents before the described date. They then go and cancel my insurance on the 20th april WITHOUT Notifying me (so i was still driving) 7 days before (as ALL insurers do), They would normally send me a text witch they didn't so if i had been in a crash within that week i would of been screwed. I then FINALLY got a cancellation email on the 10th of May, 20 DAYS AFTER THEY OFFICIALLY CANCELLED IT. They then tell me over the phone that they sent me a text witch they didnt then the Carrot operator was completely rude over the phone so i escalated it to an official complaint. I myself am a young driver, this "Carrot" company say they strive on insuring young drivers, THEY DON'T. DO NOT GO FOR THIS INSURANCE COMPANY!.

A family members car was written off and you over a period of time deducted from the value of his car because, unknowingly to him, it had already been written off before he had bought it. As you can imagine he was upset that he had been sold a car under false pretences. But he understood fully why you deducted from the payout. HOWEVER, you then force him to stay with your insurance company because of the 'open claim' or pay £1200 to leave - he was told to buy a new car to carry on his insurance. You then refuse to insure the car he bought because its 'too old' despite it having valid MOT and servicing. Nothing in your contract says a car can be too old to insure. So you are making him pay and stay with your insurance company but not insuring his car. Your suggestion was then 'just get another car' - for insurers who are meant to be good for young drivers you're pretty stupid. How is a young driver supposed to 'just buy another car'. That will be the third car in a matter of weeks, after you refusing to insure one because of its age. Not plausible for a 19 year old. Shame on you for causing added stress to a young driver in a predicament out of his control. It doesn't take much to show a little compassion and be of some use, instead of spewing ridiculous suggestions like 'buy a new car'. Im sure you could have been far more helpful and understanding with this situation. At this moment in time I would not recommend you as an insurer for any driver, and most definitely not a young driver. Its clear that your only concern is money, and you have zero interest in helping your clients. After people have had car crashes do you think they really want to be dealing with ignorance over the phone? You didn't even supply him with a replacement car after the crash, so he lost his job. Which makes the 'buy a new car' suggestion even more ridiculous. The whole situation has been dealt with very poorly, most unhelpful staff. Where is the compassion - you're an insurance company. You're dealing with people who are in unfortunate situations, it doesn't take much to be polite and helpful. Especially as you're being paid to do it. At least have the courtesy to pretend you care about your clients. And if you're not being paid enough to pretend, then do everyone a favour and find a job you get some satisfaction from or a job you are paid enough to pretend. Would be great if you trained your staff in the art of communication and people skills, instead of how to read off a script. I'm having to submit this and seek help from the other side of the world because there has not been anyone competent enough to help my brother in the UK over the phone. He is confused and upset at how this has been handled, and doesn't know what to do next. Id like someone to clear up this situation promptly, explain fully the ins and outs of why he cannot leave, why you will not insure his car, and come up with a valid solution or other options that don't involve 'just buying a new car'.

TOTALLY INEPT COMPANY. A simple claim, vehicle reversed into the side of our car, after 4 months the company was contacted to find what was happening and we were told that the claim had gone through as we had accepted 50/50 responsibility (which we never did). The claim handler was told this and she said that they would deal with it. This morning we got a call asking if we had contacted the other party's insurance . When I phoned Carrott they asked me to call back which I did and was told that they were dealing with lots of calls so could not say when they would get back to me. Then they hung up while I was talking to them. THEY ARE RUBBISH !!!

Survived my first part with carrot insurance earning £42 which I'm chuffed to bits with. This meant I could give my car a good clean and wash and also fill up on fuel..it pays to be a safer driver ❤❤

The staff are friendly and helpful. Insurence is easy to get through carrot and very straight folward. You can use the app to track your driving which I think is good

Happy with choosing this insurance, the premium is very cheap and affordable for a 21 year old driving a sports car.

For my very first year of insurance ever, I could not have been more happy with Carrot. I had a black box fitted and soon started to enjoy the rewards that brought. Delighted that after my first year, my renewal quote was so competitive - I renewed it as why would I want to go anywhere else with the service I have experienced.

Every time I've called to update details or complain, it's always been stress free. The app works great however, the scoring system confuses me, as I can drive the same as everyday to work and once a week be given an awful score for speed even though it's taken the same time to get to work, so the speed isn't reflective. I did have one day that my box said I did a journey that started at 7:30 and ended at 6, which are the times in leave and get home from work. This journey didn't happen it was parked in the car park all day not being driven. The usage isn't great as after an hour you get the score from the drive to decrease. So if you travel don't get a box.

Firstly i waited nearly 45 minutes on the phone just to get through to find out my problem was sorted in minutes! They are terrible to get on the phone especially if you are in a rush. Wouldn't recommend at all.

Most horrible customer service I have ever experience Firstly 45 minute wait before I am connected to someone He answers and straight away states that he cannot help me with my problem and does not explain why but just states it's policy I ask to speak to another person he states there is nobody else to speak to I ask to speak to a manager, he puts me on hold talks to the manager and says he can arrange a call back in 2 hours I query that he just spoke to his manager so why not put me through states that the manager will just give me the same answer so there is no point this goes on for another 10 minutes until they hung up on me SO NOT RECOMMENDING MY FRIENDS WHO JUST PASSED HERE !!!

After years and years of being ripped off by greedy insurance companies we decided to try this one for my son with the box fitted on the rewards scheme for good driving and so far proved to be one of the best insurance companies I've dealt with, after getting regular reward payments for good driving and just receiving a very good quote for his second year this company as definitely given my son the incentive to be a careful driver.😀👍 Thanks .

Typically my friends where telling me how they don't like thier black box for many reasons. However with Carrot I don't have a problem with my black box. It has given me good feedback and best of all it can save me money. Carrot has been very kind to me and made being a young driver as easy as possible.

In my second year with Carrot and I find them good, the scoring on the app confuses me because I make the same journey to and from work everyday near enough the same time. Near on the same speeds but I get marked down ? Overall they're quite good though. Cheapest way to renew and gone down a hell of a lot. Only thing I would say is they charge a lot for changing things, I changed my car 6 months through and they charged £100 for a new telematics box. I then changed my number plates to private ones and they charged me £35 admin fee. It got spread out over the payments I had left so it went up a lot, so glad it's gone down because it was a lot of money for car insurance.
