Not bad... the driving scores make no sense. I go exactly the same way to work everyday and the same way back home, but on every journey I get different scores. One day I can get +10 for my usage, then on the next it'll be +3. I really don't get how by driving the same way each time can affect it, yet when I drive to the shops, about 5 minute drive, I get +10 on everything. Make sure you book a day off work to phone them up, I've used all of my 40 minute lunch on the phone to change my address, and that's before you get put through to anyone. Is my 2nd year with them, only stayed as it worked out cheapest.

I don't really have a big experience at the moment. I got this insurance not like long ago and I do have the fact that when I drive shopping I go from one shop to another but carrot scores you down also I got marked down for speeding where I know that I don't speed. I think I'm going to have to get used to it as at the moment I can't afford anything apart from this. It has a lot of rules to follow and sometimes they are stupid and unreliable but you have a cheap insurance so I guess I have to expect cheap quality and service. I'm not sure it I continue with carrot next year but soon I'll find out when I have more experience. Now I'm needing to call them to change my pay mend day as I get paid last day of the month we will see how this goes.

Ok value (if you can class quad figures as ok) but badly worded contract. It states that only 7 journeys a day will be aloud before scores start getting dropped and only journeys above 1 mile will show on the app or on the website. It leads you to believe that you can make short journeys/manoeuvres at no cost but things as little as moving your car out of the garage, or from the street into a parking spot, essentially safe keeping and looking after of the car, will drop scores. The contract sneakily redefines "journey". Now i thought a definition was a definition, so a journey is the act of travelling from one place to another. Based on that i certainly wouldn't class a 0.0 mile "journey", where the car the car hasnt moved an inch, as a journey but carrot do and they abuse this to rate down usage scores and reduce quarterly reward and renewal discount, making an ok value insurance, bad value. Before I had carrot, I had More Than, same telematics box, same system, but more than would remove the 0.0 mile "journeys" and amend the score. I tried the same with carrot, persisting with 3 attempts to get my scores corrected and each time got told no for bad reasons and had the following question dodged; "Why is information that affects my scores and hence quarterly reward and renewal price, being hidden from me?" Overall i thought i had a bad experience with More Than, but having been with Carrot, don't buy Carrot New Driver, get More Than Smart Wheels. Same systems, similar rules, similar prices, but far better customer services.

easy for new drivers and the rewards are great. however I wasn't informed off the app benefits if I downloaded it within 7 days and I'm still unable to get access.

had renewal price . rung up to change job and put mileage to 8000 not 10000. price went up not down and to find out legal cover was removed but was on my renewal quote. So renewed as it still was the cheapest quote and I suppose I will get a little back each quarter. score was 8. something so I have to score more to get money back . Come of the phone not knowing who had the better deal here. Confused.com

The black box fitter was great.. really polite & fast working. ... it's great to keep an eye on scores via phone app... & I've used the find my car on more than one occasion

Really happy with the insurance, the black box fitter was really friendly and had a good old natter with him when he turned up. The app is really easy to use and I've never had an issue with functionality. The team at carrot are extremely helpful and friendly, not had any reason to ring (bar box figment and buying the insurance) so I can't comment on any other service. The only down side is that you get penalised for driving late at night, for more than an hour and making more than 7 trips in a 24 hour time span. Also, I've had some pretty interesting scores come back from the box, ones I defiantly don't agree with and know I haven't attributed to! (Yes I am the only driver). Still yet to try out the card, I'm sure my girlfriend will throughly enjoy our next shopping trip, and so will my bank!

Not very happy. I had a non fault crash on a Friday evening. Carrot are not open on weekends so if you have a crash on the weekend you are screwed till Monday (when I passed my insurance details to the third part he asked if it was joke because of the name not a great choice of name I must say). You are only provided with a hire car if your car is damaged and not written off. Considering I'm under 21 and I'm sure most of their customers are as well I can not take out a hire car of my own so I will now be out of work for a few weeks. On the whole the customer service team are okay although you do get transferred a lot, never had to wait over 15 minutes for an answer so can't knock that. Wouldn't recommend unless you really can't afford anything else

The only thing that put me a off is that my rating goes down depending on what time I drive at , this was one thing I was assured I wouldn't be marked down on which is disappointing as I was told and it states that there is no curfew

Carrot instantly made an impact. I searched for cheap car insurance for my age as it is my first year driving and they came up straight away and blew me away with their offers. The quote they gave me was the cheapest I could find by a mile off. Great customer service and they even sorted my black box out for me.

Great app, that gives you lots of information and tips on how to drive safely and what to do if you're in a crash etc. Really good that they reward you for driving safely. This is my second year with carrot, really happy with the service.

On my second year being insured with these never had any problems. score has always been good. do get knocked down on usuage. Always recieved my cash rewards on time apart from haven't recieved my last cash reward on my carrot card for my last quarter. Before starting my 2nd year.

Honestly SO impressed with Carrot. First year's quote was so much cheaper than any other company, the dashboard is really good to keep track and cash rewards are an amazing incentive to keep improving your driving. My policy has just renewed and it is £1100 cheaper than my first year! I am ridiculously pleased with the entire experience and couldn't think any more highly of it.

Very good on price for quotes but like the fact that you can have an app which keeps you up to date and informed on your driving. Hopefully will earn cash back rewards and a cheaper quote next year. It also must give parents peace of mind that their child is being rewarded and encouraged to drive safely
