Cheapest insurance and really great to see how my driving is going on the Online Dashboard. The guy who fit my black box Sean/Shaun was really great and friendly. Looking forward to receiving my first rewards!

Appalling ! Had a phone call for box installation my only day off for that week was a Friday which they said they couldn't do so would have to be the Tuesday that I work , said they could fit it at work which is not doable for me as I work at a secure hospital and can't have random people coming in and out. Had to have it that day or they said would run over my 2 weeks so had to take a day off work as was just told it would be fitted sometime in the afternoon which was very helpful. I can deal with all that but what really tipped me over the edge was the fact the man who fitted the box left my cream seats filthy and damaged my steering!! When I went to use the car it made all kinda of knocking / grinding / popping noises when I steered ! Another man came out to fix it a couple days later so had to find transport to work that day and leave my mum to sort it all out. Man re installed the box and admitted it was there fault and hadn't been fitted correctly yet I haven't been offered any compensation for it ! Only compensated 10 pounds to clean dirty seat myself which I only got after having to chase it up! The amount of hassle and aggregation for the amount of money paid for insurance is beyond a joke

Fantastic service! By far the most flexible company to deal with in terms of insuring with a black box for a young driver, not too many restrictions. Highly recommend Carrot, good competitive price and lots of benefits.

Cheapest insurance I could find, and I quite like it. Nice Driving Style Dashboard, easy to understand, but in my case there are some error in the black box sometimes, where shows that my journey took 12 hours sometimes. Customer service reply in max 2-3 days and sort this error without any problems. But what I don't really like is that when during my driving in town some kid or dog jumps on the road and I have to do emergency brake then in the scores it shows me low score for Smoothness. It's not my fault and because of it I get less chance to get more reward. Carrot should install program to recognise situations like this. Overall opinions about this company is positive.

We got off to a rocky start, well it was a nightmare getting everything sorted. But I think things have brightened up now.

Best quote for my son who had just passed and the guy who fitted the box was great. Love seeing how my son is driving and all in all very impressed. Wish I had allowed more for mileage as he's covering a lot of miles but overall very happy. I too need to find out how to claim the bonus for good driving so any help would be gratefully received.

The idea of getting a reward every quater is great but it would be better if I actually received the reward. My first rewards quater ended on 9th Jan. It's the 3rd Feb and I still haven't received my carrot card. One other annoying this is, everytime I have called carrot, which was frequent near the beginning and frequent when I was enquiring about my carrot card, I have been on hold for more than 30 minutes. It would be great if more staff could be employed so customers don't have to spend 30 minutes on hold listening to the on hold message.

I'm a first time insurer at the age of 17 and carrot have been brilliant at getting me on the road with the box installation being quick. Every person I've spoke to has been polite and as helpful as they can. Couldn't ask for anything better. The app is a good idea for keeping track of your score and your rewards but also keeping an eye on your mileage. Thanks carrot, I made the right choice ????

i have the found the service so far to be exceptional for my first experience of car insurance. The engineer who fitted the box gave me a better understanding of the way that the insurance works and what type of driving is required to comply with carrots requirements. All in all i am impressed with the service and cost of the insurance and would reccomend Carrot to my friends.

This insurance is cracking for young drivers that have passed their tests and want to get out on the roads as soon as possible! An affordable and exciting scheme. It encourages you to drive safely with the rewards that it offers as well. Its great im loving it!

I had my blackbox fitted in my first car as soon as I passed my test! The blackbox isn't so bad but you do get marked down for driving late (even though the policy states no curfews) which means you receive less money in reward for good driving! Also, when other idiots on the road cause you to have to brake hard, your score goes down again! Nevertheless the insurance company were the cheapest on offer!

Got policy for my son shortly after passing - cheaper than other quotes. Installation of box good, useful for him (and me) to see when he is driving too fast. Low usage score is a bit annoying when marked down for late or short journeys... Otherwise good. Would recommend. (Haven't yet worked out how to get rewards though!)

Absolutely shocking so far, and I've only had my policy for a month. Signing up after obtaining a quote from 3rd party was the only simple part. I took out my policy just before Christmas and was told the earliest they could fit the iBox was the 4th of January. I took the day off and sat in all day, no phone call, no text, nothing at all. The guy then came out the next day, on the 5th whilst I was out. Received a car through the door, called the company and explained that one of us had been mis-informed by Carrot. They then re-scheduled for today, the 13th, stating that if it wasn't installed today, Carrot would cancel my policy as it's a month without having the iBox installed (through absolutely no fault of my own). I explained to them on the phone that I'll be at a different address this time, gave them all of the details and the appointment was arranged. The same guy then went back to the old address this morning, called me to let me know that I'd missed the appointment. I got on to his company again and explained, they said they would check the previous call recording from our last conversation to make sure they hadn't got it wrong and would then call me back. They called me back saying they "couldn't find" the call recording, how typical. They then sent another engineer today to the correct address (after making out like they were doing me a favour, I might add). He came, took pictures of the car, and made claims that he couldn't install the box as the spoiler, rear lights, brake pads and possibly the exhaust all looked to be "modified". I'm currently awaiting some kind of call from Carrot to find out if my policy is going to be affected by this. So far, would definitely not recommend, not worth the hassle at all.

Not a bad idea with the black box and carrot card would definitely recommend it to my friends and family members would be happy to insure again next year happy carrot customer ????

Having a black box does make you drive more safely which is a positive. Be warned however if you excessively speed you will receive warnings and potentially your policy may be cancelled. In my first week I pushed it slightly and received threatening emails which was unpleasant but fair enough as I was speeding, Wouldn't advise getting a black box if you can not deal with driving the speed limit as it will frustrate you more than paying more for your policy initially. Despite having warnings initially I managed to improve my score over the rest of the quarter and received £30 back which was a nice surprise. You can also drive at approx 10% over + a few mph the speed limit and the box doesn't seem to pick it up so it's not too bad, you adjust to having the black box and it's not an issue for me now. Looking back though I'd rather spend a couple hundred more and not get a black box than save £30 a quid every three months from having one as there are times where it's very tedious having a black box. All in all have only been with carrott three months and it's my first ever experience with a car insurance comapny so can't give a very insightful review but I'm overall pleased no problems.

Everything seems ok at the minute. My first reward was due on the 27th December but I am still waiting. But I did call them and they explained that the first quarterly reward takes longer.
