“carrot has a good interface with decent rates however the usage and smoothness scores are horrendous and constant emails notifying you that your policy will be cancelled 6 months in as they lack certain documents”

“They took my original payment then claimed my bank details were incorrect over the festive period. I was on holiday but found out that their comapany was closed during the seven days notice they had given me. They have since cancelled my payment. I don't believe any good review is from an actual costumer and think this is a fraudulent company. Do not take insurance out as I doubt they would ever pay up and would cancel your policy randomly with immediate effect and no way of getting through to customer services. You can't even reply back to the emails they send you.”

“Terrible Terrible experience. Many times, i was driving fine and nicely and my scores had gone below 0. One time I decided to drive at 30 on a 20 road because I was getting late to university as it would have taken me 40 minutes to get to uni and my lecture was starting in half an hour, they decided to cancel my insurance. Didn't even listen to reasoning. On top of that, my black box was playing up all the time. I always stayed within speed limit and I was driving back home this one time at 12 am and I got -9 for it. Very terrible experience. I would NOT recommend it to anyone.”

“Administration department is an absolute shambles. They tell you that everything is OK and then you start getting the 'oops' messages saying that your policy will be cancelled as you haven't supplied documents that haven't even been asked for. Also, the phone line is abysmal - you can never get anyone to answer the phone so god help you if you need to claim. Can't wait for the policy to end so that I can move to another company.”

“It always takes over 30mins to get through to someone when I call their customer service line. It's horrific!! Most of the time I end up hanging up before someone even answers. I shouldn't have to wait sooo long for someone to answer. It's the worst service I've ever experienced.”

“Terrible car insurance company.. They denied my documents multiple times even after sending me emails that said they were accepted. Now not using my car over CHRISTMAS! they have decided to cancel my policy because they claim i have not used my app for 21 days however according to my app i have used it 16 days ago. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY they are a complete bunch of idiots who seem to want to steal peoples money.”

“I went with carrot 3 months ago and I'm very happy, it's makes me drive safe and I'm earning money back. For last 3 months I've got 41 pounds back which I'll spend for oil and bits for the car. I'll definitely recommend this product to other young drivers. Someone was saying here about driving 31 mph in 20 mph zone and he couldn't understand how they could cancel his policy, but if there will be a police patrol on the street you could expect 3 points on your licence.”

“Absolutely devastated with the service received. I have impeccable driving scores, and my policy has been cancelled for doing 31mph in a 20 zone. I understand this is over the limit, but for a valued customer who has never missed a payment, I believe this is ludicrous. All insurance quotes now are £8000 plus. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.”

“Bit disappointed with the usage scores, to me this seems low on purpose to lower cash back rewards. I get 10 for actual driving skill/ability but I once drove at 8pm and the usage was 2, although even worse I dropped a friend into the local town for a night out and scored a -9. Ridiculous!!”

“Overall a cheap insurance company which is good for new young drivers, by far the cheapest around. Only problem was with the black box, had to grt it reinstalled 3 times for it having problems. But way more positives than negatives”
