Wish we’d seen these reviews first, can’t understand how they got a high rating on trusted reviews. As others have mentioned, got a quote, agreed everything then they came back and started finding reasons to increase the policy price. Decided to cancel as the policy had yet to come into force, wanted £40 to cancel then asking for another £32 asked her to put it in writing with an explanation of charges, she then said if we don’t pay they will instruct debt collectors. Said I don’t like threats and to put it in writing. I can see in their t&c it says £40 to cancel, that’s all I’m prepared to pay. Do not touch this company, wish I’d read the warnings

Beware deliberate tactics to increase premium after signing up before policy due to start! They used pointless and irrelevant detail to justify threatening to cancelling policy before it starts. With only days to go before the policy was due to start this caused incredible anxiety and wasted a lot of time. Then when I did cancel I was charged £40 admin fees. Customer support online and phone very difficult to get through to and then they make unreasonable demands. They are a scam on the very edge of the law. I wish I had read more of the bad reviews here. Avoid.

I took out a car insurance policy last week, 3 weeks before my due date. Was given a much better quote today by the same company so called carole nash within a week of taking out the policy (within the 14 days cooling off period). Call taker unhelpful, refused to honour the new price so cancelled. I was charged £40 for the pleasure!! How would they be if I had to make a claim!!! Avoid avoid avoid

My bike was written off in a non fault accident. I bought a new bike, Carole Nash would not swap new for old on my existing policy, so told me over the phone the best way was to cancel the existing policy and then once the claim was formally closed I would be refunded the remaining 4 months of the policy. Email received to say claim closed, 2 weeks later I phoned Carole Nash to find out what was happening with my refund. I was told I would not be getting one, that they do not offer refunds when a policy is cancelled with a claim outstanding. There was no claim on the policy, it was all on the 3rd party's insurance. I cancelled the policy as Carole Nash's instruction and they refused to pay out the remaining balance. A formal complaint was lodged with no response. Under no circumstances use Carole Nash for insurance, they are an utter disgrace.

I will never return to Carole Nash insurance, I've been made redundant, had to sell my car and get charged to cancel the policy. Disgusted that there is no negotiation when difficult situations arise. They don't deserve 1 star 😤

I used Carole Nash 2yrs ago for the same car I have now and had no problem at all. Yet I renewed my insurance again at the beginning of October 2024, I paid in full received my insurance policy and thought that was that. But oh no, a couple of weeks later I get an email asking me for proof of purchase, copy of the log book, copy of both our drivers licenses, proof of association, they wanted to me to go on the DVLA website and download the driver summary for both of us, I was thinking WTF is going on, for a week or so I ignored it. Then they threatened to cancel my insurance if I didn’t send all the documentation, so I did using the council tax as proof of association. However they have now come back and said that the council tax is not acceptable and want me to either send them a bank statement or a copy of my tenancy agreement, well I’m definitely not doing that. I have sent them a copy of a letter addressed to both my husband and I from the bank and a copy of a letter from the council that we each received about not losing your right to vote, both documents have our names and address on them, so now I’m hoping they will accept it. They have said that I have till the 8th of November or they will cancel my insurance. I have been driving for many years and have never been treated like this, I wish I had never gone back to them. I will never ever use them again, I’m livid 😡😡😡

Would give minus stars if I could. Had insurance for motorbike, valuation of £700. Motorcycle was stolen, when I called up to make a claim, I was told that there was a £550 excess, I would have to pay a further £500 to cancel the policy, plus all the premiums for the 12 months period. The other option I was given was to cancel the policy and pay a £500 charge, eventually I was offered a £1.70 yes £1.70 refund if I paid the next direct debit instalment. I've had to cancel my insurance claim, and the insurance policy. They are now chasing me for a load of debt and I don't have my motorcycle. Absolute disgusting insurance company, scammers rip off merchants avoid at all costs

Hey, listen to this. I paid a deposit on motor insurance for it to start in a month, but for unforeseen reason, I cancelled it a few hours later and asked for my deposit to be returned. They refused due to their costs. What costs are they exactly? There aren't any! What disgraceful business ethics. You are warned, steer clear of Carole Nash Insurance!

Terrible customer service. The person kept moving away from the line. I felt bad that I kept asking him to talk into the line but I couldn't hear what he was saying. Really hard work trying to cancel the policy.

Quite disgraceful and appalling customer service. Transferred to this firm w.e.f. 1 October. Three days earlier I returned from holiday to find a letter warning me of an alleged discrepancy in my online application, and that the policy would be cancelled if I didn't contact them immediately. I did so on 30 September; the problem was swiftly resolved: apparently confusion had arisen over two similar names. I was assured that I could ignore the above warning letter. I asked for an email confirming there was no problem with my policy; it has still not arrived, despite my having repeatedly requested this by email. Today, 9 October, I have had to phone asking to speak to a manger. After a long wait, I was told they were "in a meeting." Tomorrow I need to use the car; but I still await written confirmation that I can ignore the warning hat the policy could be cancelled tomorrow. No email from them and no phone call from a manager. Utter lack of empathy with the concerns and worries of a new customer.

If I could give - stars I would. Worst company ever. Ignored my request to cancel renewal and went ahead taking payment from my bank. Said I never told them but I had email proof when I showed this I was told not to email again and they must deal with me over phone. Worst company ever and that’s the short story

Asked this company for a quote on a different vehicle it was triple based on a comparison website. When it came to cancelling policy which I had only been with for 2 months. They had me on hold for 20 mins. Then asked for a £50 cancelation charge and over £200 costs. I had never made a claim on the policy. I have left it with the complaints department. I will be taking this to the financial ombudsman . In 30 yrs of insuring my cars I have never come across a company like this one. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.!

In the past, I was with Liverpool Victoria but changed to Carol Nash for a slightly better quote. However - Liverpool Victoria always allowed me to use my car to occasionally help at the local hospice, to take daycare patients home after treatment - not so with Carol Nash. I called the helpline, and a heavily accented lady told me I would need to pay an extra £60 on my policy. Heartless.

Anybody who is thinking of insuring their vehicle with Carol Nash insurance just a note. I do a small amount of voluntary work for the Hospice in Manchester taking patients from the centre back home, Carol Nash insurance company have told me they want £60 extra on my policy to do that despite the fact that the work is voluntary and unpaid. Previously, I was with Liverpool Victoria who never had a problem they said yes as long as you’re not paid that’s been fine, however Carol Nash Motor insurer wants £60 for me to do that it’s no more than a couple of miles once a week shame on them, absolute shame on them.

Possibly the worst insurance company ever.I took out a van insurance with them they asked for proof of licenses which I sent via e mail , they then cancelled my insurance and sent me a txt message 2 days later, so I had been driving with no insurance for two days when I finally got to speak to someone who I could understand they said they hadn’t received my e mail but upon checking they had and kept half of the premium. My advice is do not use this company.

I'd personally avoid this company I've notnhad a bad experience because inwas warned before hand...no matter what the situation there small firm building there money they will not pay out under any circumstances..if you feel the need to go with this terrible firm I would advise against.. they pay themselves well and the staff are paid peanuts. I just gotna quote it was reasonable I'm not taken them up on there offer because next year there take what they want in renewals and hope u don't notice.. terrible customer services and 4 times out of 10 the take your money and cancell your policy.. reviews are 1 star and now I know why...keep up with the 1 star focus

Got an email telling me my policy was due for renewal but no quote included. Email said I could chat but no such service visible on website. Attempted to register in order to find my renewal quote but system doesn’t recognise the policy number from my original documents. I don’t want to talk on the phone so that’s me gone elsewhere. Earlier this year, I changed cars (VW Golf for Ford Fiesta so no obvious difference) and it cost me £75. It would have cost £150 but the guy agreed to waive the admin charge. He was clearly used to that as he offered it pretty quickly. And, of course, it would have cost me to cancel the policy. Dubious practices and impossible communications. If you ever have to make a claim, it might be made rather difficult for you.
