Insurance up for renewal - called to renew and correct one item Before you get through the automated line you have to give postcode - date of birth and payment option so they can find policy - get through to customer services who ask for all the same information to find my policy and then agent doesn’t even sound like he knows what he was doing - changed my mind about renewal as if this is your renewal team - what would your claims department be like !

Since my initial car insurance purchase from CN I've turned 75 and my wife (2nd driver) has died. I used the online chat to tell the company of my change of circumstances ahead of the 1 month renewal lead time so that they could factor this into their calculations. Today's quote shows a 60% premium increase with no heed paid to the changes I notified, NCB cover and all discounts stripped away. So it's back to those ****** meercats for me today!

Echo what other long term policy holders say. This Company's level of service has dropped off a cliff. That is putting it mildly . I have insured with them for years. I think this is because calls are outsourced. Overseas Asian staff clueless and I don't think they understand. That to be clear is not a racist comment, just a fact from spending hours on the phone. Awfully polite, but hopeless. I sent pictures of my classic for an updated agreed valuation back in April since which time I have singularly failed to extract from the company or its sadly incompetent overseas staff a letter confirming the valuation is update or otherwise. Truly remarkable. I have even raised a complaint - that will take 8 weeks to respond to. Now into end of June and no nearer resolving what should be a pretty straightforward question. Hopeless. Beware. Think I will look at Haggarty for renewal.

Over 1 hour on the phone for a 3 bike policy. Quote came in over £120 more expensive than best quote. When I mentioned my premium expectation, the price dropped by £100 immediately. Apparently staff can find discounts to apply but obviously not from the outset? Also they provide the opportunity for customers to select voluntary excess but won't tell you if that actually makes a difference to the policy. Won't touch Carole Nash with a barge pole from now on. Not sure what they're playing at. Only positive was the friendly call centre person.

Opted out of insurance over a week before the date of starting. Charged £25 for doing so. Don't touch with a barge pole. Be aware.

Asked for a quote for annual travel insurance for my wife and myself. We are 62 and in good health. Was quoted about £1200. Absolutely speechless. I simply said that I'm wasting my time and hung up. Used P&O for £171.

Simple case of being hung out to dry by CN. Being an honest soul i called to cancel a policy on a bike i have now sold andwas told the rebate would be £20.18 but the cancellation fee is £50. So to cancel the policy i had to pay them £29.82 !!!! and it was pointed out that it is illegal to leave the policy on a bike i no longer own. I guess this is the price you pay for dealing with middle men. Not a big deal in life but my other bikes will definitely not be insured with CN in the future.

How disappointing. Firstly trying to renew my £130 policy from last year with a £180 for this year. This required me to spend ages on the phone to them where, after reducing certain risk factors and answering multiple questions it went up to £188 before it went down to about £135. When I received the paperwork by email I replied highlighting 2 errors - 1 was a new piece of information which I'd never had before (and not asked about on the call), the other was something they forgot to ask me. Their response? Wanted additional money as I was requesting changes to my policy. I refused and explained why it was their fault for not asking me in the first place - they wrote back telling me they had taken the money anyway - in law this is criminal theft! Still in dispute.

I signed up for a policy although they haven't updated in the system and been running "without insurance" for two weeks. I was stopped by police and when they called JMI to verify that there was a mistake in the system the operator told the police, there is no policy under that reg number. Then I had to call them sitting in the back of the police car, ask for a manager and verify I had the policy to update in their system. Not to mention that I asked them to add a second bike to my policy and been told I have to sign another policy and can make a quote online instead over the phone. Avoid like a plague!

Carol Nash - Avoid! 1 month left on my policy that I had not made a claim on. Sold bike & so informed the company. They offered a £9 refund and a £50 charge for the "Admin"; net result I owe £41 to cancel. If I don't cancel and pay then they will cancel and send me the bill anyway. How can it cost £50 to type into a computer to cancel the policy? Then 48 hors later... I was promised a call back by a manager to discuss the charges but of course heard nothing! So I called them, then a long wait on the phone system listening to their advertising blurb &, finally, the representative had to speak to a manager about the cancellation. But amazingly the charge was dropped!!! So it pays to complain and not accept the charges.

Worst customer service ever. I have been double charged and they keep doing it every month, They don't reply to emails and calling them costs money and it's a waste of time anyway.

Had to make a claim due to bike being stolen but the hassle wasn't worth it and dropped claim as I was the one doing all the leg work makes me wonder why we pay for the service.
