“Avoid Avoid Avoid. Had car insurance for a couple of years with them, got renewal quote in April was very high so got quotes from other companies, but rang Kwik Fit to ask if they could do a better price, was told no, so said to cancel the policy and I went to another company. It wasn't until August that I realised Kwik Fit had still been taking monthly payments, I phoned to ask for money back, and they claimed I had not cancelled, and would take the cancellation date from August I asked for a refund from April to August payments, but their response was to pass me to a debt collection agency for £62 for cancelling the DD, when the fact is they owe me over £300.”
“VERY STRESSFUL EXPERIENCE ....Been driving for 18 years and have all my no claims. have never had a problem with getting insurance until i signed up with KWIK FIT. They ask you to send, fax, or upload driving licence, insurance renewals etc.. Fax line was dead, so had to post documents. After half an hour on the phone because they threatened to cancel my insurance policy, i was told to send more documents to account for a 3 month period since my last insurance renewal. Did this. Got an email a week later telling me when my first direct debit installment would be and a day later a letter saying my insurance had been cancelled. Said they did NOT receive my 2nd emailed documents. I insisted on forwarding them the email again (which would PROVE i had sent them on the date i said i had) but i was told it makes no difference now as we didnt receive them. Apparently not all emails get opened in time they told me! and your policy has been cancelled. Then state i will be charged £105 cancellation fee. Appalling attitude and i have asked who to write a complaint to. Am awaiting a Managers call back but i will be taking it further. Seems to me some insurance companies are making a lot of money by cancelling policies and charging for it. You only have to read online reviews to see the amount of customers this effects. Save yourself a lot of stress and go elsewhere.”
“Kwik fit brokers insured me through Towergate
I paid for the emergency cover which couldn’t provide emergency cover when it was needed. During the early hours of the morning on Saturday 21st November 2015, gales blew down my TV aerial and tiles from my roof along with several of my neighbour’s aerials on the same street.
I phoned in a claim and was told I had emergency cover, they tried to get a company to make temporary fix to prevent further damage.
After several days of chasing I managed to speak with someone from Towergate who asked me to scan and email my policy to progress my claim.
I was then contacted by Imperial who told me I would need to erect scaffolding to allow the damage assessor access to the roof, at my own cost and I would get it back if the claim was validated, if not validated I would have to stand the cost, approx. £1000
The assessor finally arrived on Wednesday 2nd December 2015 and allegedly looked from a ladder and decided that the damage was caused by wear and tear of the aerial cable, so no claim. I asked whether the aerial would have fallen had there not been a gale that night but he refused to comment.
I now have to wait for a letter stating that the claim isn’t valid, then I am allowed to have the work done at my own cost. I asked what of any damage while waiting for the letter and apparently that would be my fault.
Not happy with the company Kwik Fit (brokers) allocated me and I’m very unhappy with Towergate as an insurer. I renewed my policy a months ago, which means I am tied into a contract for the remainder of the year. I will not be staying with Kwik Fit or Towergate.

“Worst insurer ever my engine blew up needed to get a new car they told me I had to pay £140 a month on a car that had smaller engine when I was only paying £40 on original car every car I got a quote with them from 1.0 to 2.5 they want more then I was paying leaving me with having to pay outstanding balance on original policy in full and buy a new policy with a new insurer I can happily say they are a bunch of theiving CUNTS”
“Very pleased with the service Kwik-fit insurance have offered. We made a claim recently and it was dealt with effortlessly and the worry was taken away from us straight away.”
“Big shout out and massive a thank you to a couple of lads at Kwikfit Junction Street Carlisle who went above and beyond their duty to help me out, late on Wednesday night and even offered to drive me home some 80 mile round trip if they couldn't get the parts needed. Next time I'm in Carlisle I'll be paying a visit with some beer. Cheers lads. Hope kwikfit paid you overtime. Many thanks Lynne x”
“This insurance company will try and rip you off. I got my renewal through and they tried to say my current insurance company through them wanted over £1800 but they had got me a lower price of £468 it's just a scam to get you to accept over priced lower quote. I had already been on compare the market and can get same insurance for £297 even with them. I phoned and told them not to renew my policy as didn't like them trying to take me for a fool. Avoid them at all cost.”
“absolutely ridiculous and atrocious. my car insurance got automatically renewed without any notification or consent from a £70 to a £166. its a joke and am still waiting for someone to get back to me. impossible to get through their phone lines.NEVER AGAIN. RIP OFF!!!!!!!!”
“very expensive ,hard to cancel ,would not recommend to anyone ,would try other insurance company's,as they charge you up to 3x the rate of others for the same product”
