first phone call to renew my quote 58 minutes no answer second call 26 minutes no answer renewed ins on comparison website

Really disappointing to find that the recovery aspect of the MCE Insurance has a 10 day 'weasel period' where they do not honour any form of recovery despite you you taking it out with them. So your year worth of cover is actually 365 days minus 10! What galls me most is the fact I have been insured with MCE for a few years and because the insurance did not automatically renew and the link to Quote zone renewal link did not work they applied a new policy rule to me and so when I tried to make a recovery request (first one in 35 year plus motorcycling) they refused it as I was within the 10 day rule despite seeing I had a previous policy with them! Result was stranded in Scotland from a tour from South England and lame apology that nothing could be done unless I was willing to pay £1400 plus recovery fee, which seemed a tad steep when I have paid for recovery bundled with the insurance! I was left totally stranded in middle of no where and they were no help unless I paid rip off recovery fee which I had thought was what I had paid for !!! Pretty lame to say the least.

This company is 1 big scam. They called me asking for refund of money they never sent me, blaming it on an IT mishap. Then threatened me with court if I didn't pay it. Have had to bring in lawyers. Have spoken to other riders who have had the same issue.

Very poor service. I rang to make a change to my policy they got the dates wrong which meant I had no cover. Initially tried the on line chat but the adviser could not understand my problem never mind fix it. Spoke to an adviser who said a manager would ring me back same day but no one rang for 2 days. Rang a total of 6 times and no-one could make a date change to the policy. Kept getting transferred to other departments and got cut off 3 times. They even tried the old ploy of customer service centres saying that all managers were in a meeting. In the end got temporary cover which cost me an additional £93.42 which I'm going to try to claim back.

Awful customer service, took 3 days of ringing to get through, eventually to someone who was rude and spoke so fast and garbled I had to keep asking him to repeat himself. He obviously didn’t want to be there. Once again an awful experience with mce. Will never use again.

Good price on line. But when policy Was email to me. Start date was wrong. That’s when my trubble Started. 55 mins on phone. 5 different pepole. Telling me. It’s my falt. To come back to same person And would cost me 40 pounds. To correct thare mistake. Then got throw on. Phone again. Lovly lady. Sorted it out. But policy went up by 35 pounds. And was toled all bit. That I was covered for well happy. Get policy. Emailed. Back. And yet again. Not what was tolled on phone. So ring again. To sort out. But. Recon never said. Eny thing of the sort. So much. For. Rcordind. Thare. Phone conversations. It’s me the customer. That has. Got it wrong again. Ffs. Insured. Now but will never use again. 😡😡😡😡😡😡

Incredibly long wait to speak to anyone. When I eventually got through to someone I wanted to qualify what exactly was covered in the policy. Every question rustled in me being put on hold. It took 54 minutes for me to gain insurance. They were the cheapest option. I won’t go through them again. Bikesure is much more efficient.

Online service completely dead, cannot quote on telephone. Couldn’t process payment. Agent totally clueless. Refused to refer me to a supervisor. I missed my COVID jab and now can’t rebook it because of MCE systems failure. No call back, no escalation to supervisor. Score of 0 is too generous.

I'm a new customer and bought the policy on line. I set the start date I had chosen however on completion their compuser system added in a different date. It proved extremely difficult and frustrating to get this correctEd. Eventually it was however according to them, it was my fault. I posted my frustrations on a Facebook group and was disturbed to find that my experience was not unique. People had horror stories regarding the service level this company gives, their unwillingNess to pay out. Many of the responders had to escalate to the Insurance ombudsman to get their problem resolved. The overwhelming suggestion was to cancel the policy and use someone else. I have decided to let the policy run however I hope I never have to make a claim. This will be the first and last time I use MCE.

Bought the insurance through a comparison website as it seemed really good price. However, I missed the fact that the pillion cover was not selected, when I contacted MCE to amend the policy which I had only purchased 30 mins earlier, and was not due to come into force till 2 days later, they charged me an extra £88 to add it, pretty disgusting as it would have only been some £20 more on the original quote. I queried this with their operator, but she just said it was system generated.

Payed £184 for a Suzuki GSX-S1000 in December 2020 now have changed bike to XMAX 300 Scooter. To change insurance over to new scooter reg and cancel Suzuki insurance was told I had to pay £126 pound for this service. New insurance with new insurance company would only cost me £113. MCE rip off company will never go near them again

You haven't insured me for what I was looking for.I needed a full comprehensive and carrying pillion passenger and 7000 miles per year and not 3000 as reported on the certificate. Very bad experience.

Rang the renewals team. I think the guy I spoke to had already handed in his notice as he was running through the script at high speed, absolutely no empathy with my situation. Very unimpressed which is a real shame as the MCE product is first class.

NO GOOD CUSTUMER SERVICE AND EXTRA FEES. Hi. I had a biggie with MCE. I got my card cancelled and tried to get in touch to change my details. Lines were busy so I went for the chat wich they advise you to do on the recording over the phone. There the person on the other side told me to wait that they would contact my in 72hs. I waited. Then before calling me they charged my the 30pounds admin fee. I TRIED TO GET IN TOUCH, to wich they told me to wait. Not fair to pay the 30 pounds extra fee. So if you are thinking about signing with them, consider this BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE.
