The only reason they got one star was because you can't give them none , I called for a fully com on line quote , which when I called I couldn't have for some reason , so I ended up going for third party fire and theft , they didn't put the theft on the polices , now my bike been stolen and I can't make a claim , wankers !!!!! Don't go anywhere near these people !!!!!

Usually the cheapest on comparison sites, but there is a reason! They are the worst ever!!! Avoid these idiots like the plague. If you are unfortunate enough to to need to make a claim you will regret it, the claims dept are totally useless. Do not use-yup have been warned

Bought insurance on,I've, had screenshot to say insured, but no communication. Phoned to ask for acknowledgement, policy etc and couldn't find it- could find my payment and said insured, it's fine and ride on . . . Still no details by end of week so phoned again - no live policy would I like to buy another? Promised to sort it out but no call back so rang again - informed no live policy but they had provided a quote!ni demanded my money back, but couldn't help as no policy to cancel . . . Ignored and no deposit returned, no acknowledgement of my complaint for 1 week, so emailed CEO Julian Edwards and British superbike as MCE are their sponsor - and as if by magic, complaint heard and money refunded . . . . And then told I had a policy all along! Never heard so much bullsh!t in my life. Wouldn't touch with a barge pole!!!!!

I got my bike stolen and had to claim. I purchased an option for 149.99 on top of my policy to halve my ridiculous excess. When I came to claim they wrote this option off, saying g they valued my bike at £600 and my excess was £650. I stated I paid to half my excess but they said it was only halved after the cost of the bike and since they undervalued my bike to make it less than my excess they wouldn't pay me a penny. I also was on hold over an hour and half each time I called them I definitely would not recommend them to anyone, and would certainly steer clear of their half your excess option.

Avoid like the plague! I paid my bike insurance in full at the start of my policy then 6 months in I had to part with the bike. I rang mce to cancel my insurance I was told I was due a refund on my remaining policy and it would be paid to me within 7-14 days. Over a month later still nothing??? So I ring back long story short it turns out I wasn't in formed of the cancellation fees which quite conveniently added up to the exact amount I was due to have returned but they did offer to pay me half what I'm owed? Very big of them. STAY AWAY FROM MCE THEY ARE CON ARTISTS.

Don't buy with this insurance company they handled my claim terribly, so bad intact they wanted me to pay then off for my 125cc being stolen and completely ripped apart. I didn't receive any money instead they sent a massive truck with my broken scooter back to me, what am I going to do with a big hunk of metal?? I'm not a mechanic, I'm a student who poured all her savings into buying a moped, insurance and tax by themselves for a sense of independence. I was massively disappointed with the service I received off MCE and mentally scarred from every riding again and who to trust.

Terrible customer service,never again with this company,my scooter as been stolen I had to wait 3 months to get my money back,they play with peaple life.

MCE have realised that they can make more money charging 'premium rate' for telephone call quotes. £8 for a 10 minute call only to be told after 10 mins, that the don't supply policies with less than £400 comp excess. No warning of the extortionate costs in the pre recorded blah. MCE 's response was "legally, we're not doing anything wrong". Very nice eh!

Only gave 1 star because I HAD to to leave a review. Ongoing claim,(over two months now). Settlement offer accepted 6 weeks ago, despite being told payment within a couple of weeks on website. Kit cover, top to toe, despite being paid for on the same policy at the same time, I am now told is a separate claim! Good luck to anyone who has to make a claim, you'll have your work cut out and lots of obstacles put in your way. Be interested to see if this ends up on review page. Don't do it!????

Good if you never have to claim. Hit by uninsured driver. took four days to collect bike, further week to assess write off. 125 for 5 days to replace a 600. Fzr, only if you are at home during work hours to receive it. Two months and counting after the settlement offer and still no sign of payment. 30 to 40 minutes on hold each time I phone, it then always sounds like they are playing about fading in and out their voice. AVOID!

Why is there not a minus score for star rating? MCE deserve the lowest possible rating and boy do they deserve it. Poor poor service. Zero comnunication. Promises of call backs that never happen. Lies about settlement. Fact. Unreasonable time scales. 3 months and still no closer to getting paid out. ( no third party to slow things down). Supervisor/ Manager never available. Premium rate claim line. Helmet and leather cover absolute joke, £300 max with extra £100 excess. Insure a 1000cc bike and get a 125 cc courtesy bike for a week max only after write off is decided. Promise of two independant assessors and only one associated assessor with no report available to customer. Worst ins. co ever. Never again. LEARN BY MY MISTAKE

Worst experience of my life!!! Do not use this company!! I have put a claim through on my own insurance and had the worst experience ever. Nobody at mce seems to know their jobs and you get passed from pillar to post. I have been a customer with these for nearly 3 years and always paid my insurance on time etc and when it came to doing a claim what an absolute shambles this company is. My experience has been so bad all my biker mates have all changed insurers to Bennett's now as of the result of how my claim has been dealt with and they wouldn't want to be put through the same shoddy service. Just a word of warning. A family member has just moved house and informed their motorbike insurance by letter as regards change of address. The insurance company charged him an admin fee... plus increased premiums...... and also increased the compulsory excess on the policy from £250 to £575. Just for moving to a far better area. It would appear this company charge one of the highest rates for Compulsory Excess now a figure confirmed by on line checks. Disgusting. DO NOT USE MCE BIKE INSURANCE. Bikers be aware and please share.

Confirmed I had a valid claim after my bike was stolen. Then realised they had also sold me an excess protect policy and would have to pay out £850 and not the £75 they thought. Once they realised this they decided that my claim was not valid - but refused to give any reason for their change of heart. This was after over three months of chasing them. In that six months I spoke to them on roughly 20 occasions. On 6 occasions I was promised a call back which never materialised. I only found out they had 'decided' my claim was not valid when the email that they promised to send with details of how my claim would be progressed now that it was 'valid' did not arrive and had to ring them to find out why. Additionally I then complained and received a letter stating that they would be in touch to resolve my claim within 4 weeks. After 5 weeks of no contact they left me a voicemail asking if my claim had been resolved, which was a odd question given that they had not made any effort to contact me before then. When I rang them to state that is had not been resolved they told me they did not intend to try and resolve it and would not discuss it any further with me. I am currently deciding whether to pursue via the obudsman or via legal action. I'm more minded to go the legal route as I'd quite like to look at a punitive punishment. They are nothing more than immoral cowboys - run a mile.

Never ever insure yourself with this company period! They have become independent and now keep your data for continuous payment. This means they have all your card details including security code. I had a friend pay a one off payment and they took the following months without consent after being told not to save the details. The customer service is shocking, they are not interested in what you say just place you on hold for hours on end. Informed them that taking a payment on a card that they were specifically told was a one off was fraud, theft as well as a breach of data protection. They are not interested and have been told on several occasions now that 'It's irrelevant'. in a nutshell this is not the best nor is it the UK's number one insurance broker, if so then the population are mugs.
