“As seems to have come up on here a few times their renewal system is very poor, quoted different prices through compare websites to over the phone. Their customer services also told me that if it was cheaper through the compare site to buy online there as they couldn't match the price - which seems crazy. The quote experience is also pretty rubbish, as when I ring up about a renewal quote I don't expect to have to tell the call centre all my complete details again as if it's a new quote - very frustrating.”

“As we all know insurances are more interested in selling than providing a good after sales service. Two days after getting my insurance this year, your customer service team did not have my motorbike's registration number linked to me or my home address so I had to wait for your team to confirm with another team, the information provided. After using this insurance with previous motorbikes and noticing that they NEVER sent the documentation of my policy (I always requested email instead of hard copy), this time MCE offered an online portal when I can see all my policy documents and these can be download straight away.”

“BEWARE OF COMPULSORY EXCESS WHEN PURCHASING ONLINE Not happy with MCE, watch out for their compulsory excess as I did not realise that they had set mine to £1050 with a voluntary £250, total £1300 which is the same value as my bike so hardly any point having comprehensive insurance. If it got stolen they would of paid out £100 only. It was not obvious that it was so high, I only noticed after paying my first payment and receiving documents, when I phoned them they admitted thats what they do so they make it to the top of the comparison websites. They changed my policy to third party f&t so that my total excess was only £250 and that was £30 more expensive than fully comp. To lower the excess to £250 with fully comp doubled the quote. After checking other companies for third party cover many where over £100 cheaper so I canceled my policy as I was still in cooling period and they will only refund me £8 of my first payment. So £72 for a weeks insurance...daylight robbery.”

“On renewing my policy I was quoted 144.25 by an MCE operative. Go compare quoted me 110 and when the renewal documents came through via email my policy was 85.79. the extra cover for europe was 66 pounds which I don't mind paying for but as for the actual insurance policy I feel that I have been ripped of by MCE as being quoted 3 different prices. I actually paid 110 on Go compare. MCE LOOK AT YOUR RENEWAL SYSTEM”

“I have purchase Insurance for my Motorbike about 5-7 days ago , received the request to complete a survey ( and chased once over the Telephone ) and still no documentation received by Email or Post ??? so far not impressed, cannot imagine what happens if I try and claim for any reason or need urgent help.”
