Privilege insurance lied to me that they could send my proof of no claims by email. This was on Friday 9th Oct. I waited for my email, on Monday I chased it up only to be told that I had "unintentionally been misinformed" by the call handler. After countless apologies, I was promised my documents were in the post. Privilege were more than impatient when my previous insurers were just as slow when issuing documents, and they refused to get in touch with my previous insurers. Oddly enough, thy offered me that my new insurers could phone them. One rule for them, one different rule for me. God knows what would have happened if I had to make a claim. They also messed up paperwork when renewing my insurance with them, and could not even find their own PNCB... A bunch of clowns, but at least they were cheap.

I have had car insurance with privilege for the past year, all was good until a month ago. When I purchased the insurance I was told I would receive an extra years no claims at the end of my policy (which is a great offer). A few months ago I phoned to change my address and they said they wanted a ridiuclous amount extra (I literally only moved down the road) and after complaining I finally got them down by £50 but they had my hands tied as cancelling my policy would have been more than they said I would have to pay anyway. But was informed I would still be getting my free years no claims at the end of the policy. When I payed my last payment I didn't think I would be renewing as I was disappointed with how much they put my policy up by. When my renewal letter came they had DOUBLED what I had been paying the whole year. I went online and found a quote that was a quarter of what they quoted me. And also on my letter they stated I only had 1 year no claims, which was meant to be TWO years as I previously said they had offered me a free year extra. To try and see what I could do about renewing with them I phoned them, told them about the no claims discount etc and was informed this was only for people OVER 25!! Which I had NEVER been told all through my policy. FALSE INFORMATION GIVEN TO CLIENTS. Then when telling them about the quote online they said they would only be able to put my renewal quote down by £10. Needless to say I will NOT be renewing with them and I am very disappointed with the service. You would think they would like to keep there customers, I would not recommend privilege to anyone.

Poor home insurance policy, watch the terms they don't tell you and the lack of being able to make a complaint. currently waiting for them to say no to my complaint so I can go to the ombudsman. cheap quotes dont work when you need insurance most at point of claiming

it was a terrible experience with them I took in total about seven months to pay out and closed my policy ,when it was a straight forward rear ended claim. I would not recommend to anyone.

Avoid this insurer. We were being taken to court by this company for paying a bill that we had already paid. We had debt collectors letters and hundreds of invasive phone calls from the debt collector which were extremely stressful. Even though we sent all the proof that we had paid the bill they would not stop. In the end we had to contact the insurance ombudsman who finally made the nightmare stop. Avoid like the plague if you enjoy sanity.
