“Due to the purchase of a new car, I wished my "old" car (insured by Privilege) to be insured in my wife's name. After a telephone conversation with Privilege discussing my requirements I received incorrect documents. Following up on the error, I was given a revised quote which was more than double that of other quotes received. I cancelled the policy and am now due a pro-rata refund on the policy based on the remaining insurance period which has been agreed by Privilege. After 5 telephone conversation and a letter of complaint this matter is still not resolved and I have not received the refund due. The matter has now been running for over 2 months. If Privilege cannot handle the simple task of a refund which they acknowledge is due, they cannot be trusted with an insurance claim. This company makes commitments but does not follow through, I don't trust them and will not deal with Privilege in the future.”
“Don't ever take out priviledge insurance !
They have lied to me, there advertising is also false, have caused me nothing but stress !
AVOID AVOID AVOID”
“The claims service is beyond incompetent.
I was involved in a non-fault accident with a Privilege policyholder who admitted fault.
Such a palaver to get my car fixed. I'm going to a solicitor next time around.”
“My brother has just been abandoned in wales whilst on holiday from Scotland. Accident was not his fault and other driver is being prosecuted. Privilege have said he will have to hire a car as his was written off, and not entitled to a courtesy car. What a load of rubbish....they haven't even asked him about the injuries he has sustained. DO NOT USE!!!!!!!
Appalling foreign customer care, could not give him an English number when asked!”

“Wait until you have to claim - a very stressful experience - constant phone calls about not having information which had been given verbally, emailed and copies of documents sent by recorded Mail on number of occasions. Claims take too long and then you get a letter from the other claimants solicitor saying they are taking you to court. Go elsewhere”
“worst insurance company they raise my annual premium when i decided to leave and asked them for my ncd they cut my no claim discount from 9 years t 3 without having any accident”
“It seems impossible to cancel your policy once you're signed up with them. No email address, and it's really difficult to reach them from the phone. Worse, even if you do get through and they have promised you that they wouldn't renew your policy, they still go ahead sending you a renewal letter and renew it. It happened to me (and still trying to handle it) and I'm sure this will happen to you too! Be aware before you sign up.”
“For anyone considering using this company for insurance purposes, please be aware that based on a letter my 18 year old Son received this morning following an accident he had earlier this year, you should look elsewhere.
The letter was aggressive, poorly written and evasive with details on how to respond.
Their Directors and Senior Management should be emabarrassd by such letters being sent and indeed, I would describe them as cowards.
How the young, old, inexperienced etc deal with issues like this, goodness only knows.
A very, very poor experience”
“Having checked my certificate again after being with Privilege for over 8 months I have just noticed that I am not allowed to drive any other vehicle. I find this absolutely ridiculous as I am paying over £2,500 on annual basis for my Range Rover and apparently I have been advised either to cancel my policy or pay additional in order to get insured!
Money making business -RIDICULOUS!”
“Was not a good experience. Their web site offered me a great price on the info I provided. But when I telephoned their office they withdrew their offer to provide insurance cover for my house. I do not understand why I am still be asked to write a review. I have made several calls and emails to both your company and privilege !!”
“Renewal quote £100 dearer than online quote. That's just dishonest. Refusing to confirm current no claims status to new insurer.Failed to resolve windscreen claim saying not received email. Not calling back when promised.Have apparently paid out £7600 compensation to an Asian cab driver for personal injuries sustained in a 1mph accident and don't seem concerned that I stated my belief that fraud has occured etc, etc”
“Privilege insurance lied to me that they could send my proof of no claims by email. This was on Friday 9th Oct. I waited for my email, on Monday I chased it up only to be told that I had "unintentionally been misinformed" by the call handler. After countless apologies, I was promised my documents were in the post.
Privilege were more than impatient when my previous insurers were just as slow when issuing documents, and they refused to get in touch with my previous insurers. Oddly enough, thy offered me that my new insurers could phone them.
One rule for them, one different rule for me. God knows what would have happened if I had to make a claim.
They also messed up paperwork when renewing my insurance with them, and could not even find their own PNCB...
A bunch of clowns, but at least they were cheap.”
