Applied for a CC in 2020 to take advantage of 0% balance transfer. Upon being accepted and thereafter attempting to arrange said balance transfer, I was then advised Sainsbury’s don’t approve balance transfers from my previous provider. That was the first issue. Sainsbury’s then lettered me in October 2021 to advise they would not be renewing my credit card account when my card expired in Nov 2021. Fair enough. I transferred the balance to a new CC and cut my Sainsbury’s card up. When the card expired, Sainsbury’s then closed all access to my online account and app. Issue 2 is the biggie. I recently viewed my credit card account on Clearscore, and can see there is a small outstanding balance (which must have slipped through between my account being settled and the card expiring). I am unable to make payment, however, because I no longer have access to the app or online banking, nor do I have the expired card or account details. This is now accruing regular late payment charges…despite Sainsbury’s being responsible for removing all payment options/methods. Literally in limbo here and would like to settle the account but there seems to be no way to do so. I haven’t even received a letter to request payment. Telephone services are limited and the staff don’t appear to understand what my issue is and there is no option to email. I would recommend to avoid at all costs.

I would def. recommend Sainsbury loan because they don't scam you and give you a reasonable APR after filling the form. When I applied it showed 3% and after submitting it came to 7% which is acceptable. I got the loan in less than one hours time thanks for them using DocuSign and all paper work was done asap. I applied the same loan on AA finance and it showed me 3% and later offered me 21% and the post would come in 5-7 days.

If I could give zero I would!! I’ve just been on hold for 65minutes to be told that their systems are down and cannot access any accounts! I am absolutely raging, can the not put that information on their automated message? Their wait times on the phone are insane, I have had lots of credit cards with different banks and this is by far the worst service I have ever received!!!

Terrible customer service today from edinburgh call centre. I feel they could’ve handled my query better and been more helpful and compassionate. Will not be using Sainsbury’s bank again

Without a doubt some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced in any form of banking. Customer services deliberately hang up. Absolutely no way you can contact these crooks

Customer service waiting time is appalling. I can’t cancel online, need to speak direct, but they don’t answer the phone. 2nd day of trying to get through!

I took out a building insurance but Sainsbury's online system charged me twice, they promised me a refund within seven days, twelve days later still making calls which take thirty minutes to get through, also sent PM'S through Facebook which is much quicker but still no response. As Sainsbury's Bank is regulated under the FCA I feel they should be responding in a more positive manner after all it is my money, in reality I have now paid out twice as I have cleared my credit card which I purchased the insurance with

We applied.for a car loan at 3% and were advised decision would take 3 days, 5 maximum. We waited 11 days for a decision 8 working days. Trying to phone and see what was happening with our application we were on the phone for over 6 hours over 5 phonecalls. When the loan offer came, it took 3 days to arrive. Asked for further documents and bumped loan rate up to 8%. Glad we double checked as the conformation email said we had been fully approved. Do not recommend and read the small print. We also almost lost the car we put a deposit on due to the time taken by Sainsbury's bank. Complete farce. Do not recommend

So frustrating. Have tried numerous times to pay my credit card but get auth.sainsburysbank.co.uk refused to connect message every time. Have been charged a late payment fee and card payments frozen as I didn't realise the initial payment hadn't gone through.

It happens nearly every month - I try and pay the credit card online on the day the bill is issued and always get this message auth.sainsburysbank.co.uk refused to connect which means I have to try the following day.......another days interest for them if not paid off in full. Most annoying

Applied for a credit card. Received emails for about a week telling me that it was being processed. By this point, I had decided that I wanted to cancel my application as I'd taken out a loan instead. Phoned them, waited half an hour on hold to talk to someone. Told them I wanted to cancel my application and was immediately put back on hold for an hour and fifteen minutes. It seems to me that they deliberately make it very difficult for anyone to cancel their application, hoping that they will get fed up and hang up. In the same time that I've waited to hear back from Sainsbury's, I've managed to apply for a credit card with someone else, received it, taken out a loan, cancelled the other credit card and received the funds in my account. However, Sainsbury's are still 'carrying out further checks' on an application that I don't want and can't seem to cancel.

Like lots of other people, have had the card for 12 months, now trying to pay it off, half the time it works, half the time it says it works but does not take the payment. So have to wait 3 days (just in case the payment is being 'processed'). Now it has stopped working altogether "auth.sainsburysbank.co.uk refused to connect." is reported every time I try to make a payment! Just be sure to pay well in advance to avoid being charged.

Initially I had purchased car insurance with them, but there was a problem with the payment. I called him up, about it took nearly 4 hours of being on the phone to see if they had received my money. Thankfully the bank refunded the cash and I dodged a bullet. Went with Aviva.

I was approved for a credit card. I then tried to activate the card online and register for online banking at the same time. It accepted my details but when I went to login, it said that an error had occurred and it looked as though I somehow hadn't completed the process. I tried to complete the process but was told 'invalid credentials'. I then tried the 'forgotten details' route but was told that the details I'd entered were incorrect. They weren't. I tried this for two days. It took forever to find a number to call and then I was held in a never ending loop. When I finally spoke to someone, they were less than helpful and told me there was nothing they could do to help and I should just keep trying. I've now been trying for three days to no avail. I'm calling again to cancel my card (if I can get through?) and apply for a card with another provider - I will never bank with Sainsbury's again.

Applied for a credit card on the 9th Sep the credit agreement arrived on the 19th Sep i signed the agreement and sent it back i checked 5 day later to see if the had received it which they had not i was told to ring back 2 days later bearing in mind each time you ring you will wait for over 30 mins to get though to anyone. I rang back still nothing received told to ring back 5 days later which i did another 30 min waiting to be told they would send out anthother agreeement but this would take 7-10 days to get to me i suggested they email this to me but they do not use email only telephone and 2nd class post. This is the most antiquated system i have ever had the misfortune to have to deal with. I still do not have the new agreement or credit card but i do have a letter from Carol Roberts head of Customer services telling me they do not have my agreement !!! When i asked to speak to Carol Roberts i was told she is not customer facing !!!! The head of Customer service not customer facing !! Unbelievable
