“Great company and the blue Slate is perfect. Looks fantastic in my garden. The only problem is the awful courier delivery company who made a real shambles trying to get it on my driveway because the guy was having a bad day and the rubbish customer service cranleigh freight provide.”

“I was pleased with the general service and helpfulness of staff. However, it was not useful to have the bags of gravel stacked one on top of the other. I understand it is common to split the bag and allow the contents to pour out. In my situation I had 1 man with a barrow emptying the bags and wheeling it round the back of the house. Splitting the bag would have made a mess and led to wastage. Fortunately I had a delivery of other materials from our local builders' merchants and they lifted the bag down for me.”

“I ordered the larger size blue slate chippings for my back garden. Arrived on time and good communication. My only issue is the white chalky powder that coats the slate? It's very gradually coming off but is taking an awfully long time to look like slate! I'm not sure if this was a 'faulty' batch? If someone could let me know that would be great!”

“Thank you for the turf.Unfortunately I was not informed of the delivery day or emailed so that I might track it.Therefore, as I was not home when it was delivered I was unable to lay the turf for a couple of days as I had to organise help to move it from my drive and then lay it.The top few turfs were lovely but underneath the grass was very yellow.It has been laid, I am watering it regularly and looking after it,but it is still very yellow.i hope this improves as the days go by. The price was very good , just a shame i was not informed of the delivery date . Yours Lynne Cork”

“I purchased 500kg of budget gravel. I was very pleased with the item and the free delivery service and it arrived on the day I had specified which I was impressed with. I was also impressed that I didn't have to be at home to accept the delivery. I had asked for the bag to be left at the rear of my house, however when I arrived back home it was outside my front door. The lorry driver was still there so I grabbed his attention but he wouldn't get out of his cab to speak to me, so just shouted to me through his open window. I asked him if he could take the bag around to the back of the house for me, but he said he couldn't because the forklift was too big. I was disappointed with this as the advertisement on Grassland's website boasted about how they could get to places other companies couldn't. I spent the next 2 hours shovelling the gravel into a bucket and dragging it a bit at a time round to the rear of my house. At least they did kindly leave the bag in a logical place so it could have been much worse if they'd left the bag at the end if my drive. I would use Grasslands again, but I would be more mindful of the service they offer before I purchase bulky items again.”

“I bought 1Ton plum slate, ordered on a Friday for delivery the following Monday, Was promised a order confirmation by email which I never received . The delivery was made promptly and to my full satisfaction. However the driver turned up with a 7T Lorry which is unsuitable in my road, he struggled to turn his vehicle round and damaged some neighbours fencing .. It would have been good to have either a text message or a pre delivery phone call to know the approx. delivery time”

“Fair pricing on average with competitors. I was disappointed with delivery arrangements however. On my enquiry, I was quoted around £40 for next day delivery but I declined that option going for the standard 3 to 5 working days. I requested delivery on my driveway as I had prepared my front for topsoil and turfing. All fine so far. I went out the next day and returned to find it had been delivered the next day after all. I had not been informed (a call to inform me perhaps that they were in fact delivering?) and what's more they had delivered the two large pallets of turf and tonne of topsoil and left them on the very area I had left prepared for turfing. This added time and unnecessary labour shifting it all.”

“Delivered a day earlier than requested but no signature required and left in a very sensible place so not an issue. Follow up call after order to explain and price very close to best available. I'm pleased with the purchase and will most probably place a follow on order.”
