“DO NOT USE GROUON. They refused to give me a refund for a service that was canceled by the company themselves, despite me asking for a refund the day after I purchased it and their policy of a guaranteed refund if requested within 3 days of purchase. This was a $300 purchase. Their reasoning is so that you can "support local businesses" instead of receiving a refund. This is interesting because individuals cannot support businesses if they themselves do not have money for luxury. Your money is better off being spent with the company themselves. Many times the companies will honor groupon prices if you purchase directly through them instead.”

So that they can use my money while the item is not shipped. I have read lot this kind scam before. They are simply use the customer's money and who knows whether they have the item or not. “I can't stand Groupon. I ordered a phone that had a number of issues. This whole complaint is long winded and there's so many side stories as well but the point is that Groupon was far from helpful. Three weeks of begging and pleading (via chat/email because they hide and talking on the phone is not an option) and trying to fix the issue, on my end only because they were far from helpful, the problem still exists and all they can offer is 50 buddy bucks that come with their own set of rules. Cool. Glad I spent hundreds of dollars on a phone that I've yet to receive. I'll never use this service again. It would be one thing if a mistake was made and then fixed but they refuse to help or even acknowledge the mistake made on their end and have shown zero interest in fixing the problem they caused.”
“I ordered an item from Groupon a couple of months ago, which I was informed may have a delay in delivery due to the Covid-19 epidemic. It never arrived. Upon chasing it up a month or so later I was informed that Groupon did not know it's whereabouts as it had 'been too long' and therefore could not refund me or otherwise resolve the issue. “Ordered an outdoor prep station on May 25. Charges went through immediately. I got an email on Jun 3 saying be patient, shipping delay due to COVID. Did online chat 6/15. Finally admitted item not in stock but due to new COVID POLICY can only give me bucks. Chatted quite a while asking to show me policy. Could not show me. You can not collect money and three weeks later tell me out of stock and only offer me bucks. This was not due to me cancelling. Shame on Groupon!!! How do they even get away with this.”
“Horrible Customer Service - Not worth the risk!
Due to COVID-19 two of the merchants I purchased vouchers from closed. They told me to get my money back from Groupon. When I asked for a refund from Groupon they would only give me my money back in Groupon credits. They stated it's because:
'While we understand that many merchants have temporarily closed, we want to show them that our customers will be there when they reopen.'
Basically they are saying they are supporting their merchants over customers but the merchants I booked with aren't getting any of the money anyway. Also Groupon cannot just decide to do this - this is against there own terms and conditions (where they have to give you a refund in the original payment form if you cannot redeem your voucher) and is ILLEGAL because they are refusing to refund me for a service I paid for but cannot receive! They seem to think the Sales of Goods and Consumer Rights acts do not apply to them!
I have had several live chats with them and they have not given me a valid reason why I cannot get my money back and they just keep closing the chats! I am now having to go to the consumer ombudsman to try and get my money back!
You can get some good deals with them but I would honestly say it is not worth the risk if something goes wrong!”
